When I saw Crossfire my first though was "Great, another lazy showcase made in multiplayer with multiplayer weapons", but then I remembered how you specifically showed *both* singleplayer *and* multiplayer versions in standalone HL video. Although why do you still showing old crossbow aiming? Aiming animation was already added, at least in Xen beta.
Yeah, until they fucking murder you in a vent because the HECU knocked your health down to 20 percent and now you have basically have no health or ammo. How the fuck did I even beat the first Half Life.
They did such a good job keeping the same aesthetic and look of the originals, but just giving them modern graphics. It's honestly one of my favorite aspects of the game, how faithful they were (for the most part) with level design, enemy and weapon appearance, and overall feel of the original.
It's funny how Half Life got the Glock empty and mid reload right while virtually all Counter Strike weapons from every version of the game are magical (you press reload mid clip and the gun first magically racks the slide 🤦♂️). Nice to see that BM cared about this for the Glock, MP5 and shotgun (PS let's not talk about the Spas's lack of double barrel for the alternative double shot 🕴️)

0:01 there is a basic detail in half life. when you swing crowbar to nothing, you can see the swing animation is slow and if you hit crowbar to a block, swing will be faster. Black Mesa just spams the crowbar and it has 1 speed of animation

The crossbow scope looks so shitty since the 2017 update. It's texture is so low poly like it's from some early 1990-s game. I remember playing earlier versions of Black Mesa and back then the scope was amazing. Still don't get why did they ended up replacing it with this piece of crap.

Honestly? It's a sin that the BMS devs didn't make the crowbar have that metallic "clang" noise when you smack it against something. Also, did anyone else notice that the BMS .357 sound is from a stock audio library or something? I've heard it in a fuck-ton of different videos/games.
I noticed the crossbow before reloading still has an arrow in the thrown away clip. When i slowed it down i noticed when last arrow is shot the arrow on mag apears, but once reload animation starts it vanishes. Not that it realy matters though, its a small thing
When I watch a Hivehand on balckmesa animation it just.... Rape and I wonder how gordon shoot using hivehand because When I was young,first time playing original half life I though alien gun(Hivehand) was shoting by our mind control like the gun was attach together with gordon body but after I watch the animation on black mesa I feel like my childhood is a lie
Tau cannon sucks on source engine, it doesn't behave the same as in goldsrc. It doesn't go through walls or do splash damage and reflect, very disappointed when I tried in on black mesa multiplayer

Black Mesa have weak explosions but it have really good designs. Sometimes it's hard to understand what the textures mean in Half Life.
