Because of its looks
Bigger engine doesn't mean more power or performance. The turbocharged 1.4 l is strong enough to give you a kick starting 1700 rpm. The manual gearbox gives you the flexibility to test it's true power. And the looks grow on you over time. It's definitely the most premium in it's segment. Thanks Faisal for the long awaited review

Ive always loved the 1.4 tsi manual. Definitely underrated. Base mode costs 18.5 and imo thats very good for what this car offers.

After watching the whole video i can say for sure that 1.4 is more than enough. One does not need the 1.8, although it's a tad bit faster but is also 115 to 120 kgs heavier than the 1.4 ( cuz of DSG). I think 1.4 is the sweet spot in the petrol range and definitely after seeing the interior, WORTH IT!

I agree, the DSG gearbox used in the 1.8 is prone to breakdowns and overall is a money pit as it ages. The 6 speed DSG in the 2.0 TDI and 2.0 RS is much more reliable. But if you want a MT Octavia nothing beats the 1.4 TSI in terms of reliability and driving fun.

@@jeevanjose1000 Yes that's a pretty good option too for someone who wants a smooth and powerful Diesel Octavia but the diesels I usually see the most are L&K trims equipped with a DSG.
Reliability issues are very old stories. Current ones are rock solid.
Been driving this car for last 2 years,also the economy is really good when driven with light foot,can even go as high as 19-21 on highways,0-100 with ASR off is 8.2 seconds,top speed is 225km/H,very good value,much better then any other car at the same price point,lets see how the new one does with 1.5 TSI,hopefully that too gets a manual base model for budgeted buyers

@@miteshkore9768 Its solely dependent on how you drive,if driven carefully you can go as high 12-14 in city traffic,on very good days with low traffic 15,bumper to bumper is 10-11,hardly ever went below 10 in normal driving conditions,only when driving hard you can go as low as 6-7 then😂.Overall its quite good on economy.

@@amirshaikh6877 Been very reliable for last 4 years and 40,000kms,get it serviced on time and drive well and smooth and its not at all problometic from reliability point of view.

I just bought a used Skoda Octavia 1.4TSI combi elegance. Fully specced =)
It's a wonderful car.
The combi version is very agile and well though.
It feels like driving a Mercedes or Audi but to the price of a Seat/VW.
Im really impressed by the car so far!
Finally you got the time to review the car that most people would end up buying while aspiring for 1.8 tsi due to budget constraints.
Just 2 months ago I bought myself a new Octavia 1.4tsi 110kw with Style Plus package, here in the Czech Republic it was one of the last Octavias with 1.4tsi, newer cars get 1.5tsi with particle filter and piston deactivation feature. Awesome car so far!

I've driven 1.4 tsi jetta, its such a gem of an engine❤
Apparently the Jetta 1.4 tsi and Octavia 1.4 tsi were different engines. Jetta had an older EA111 and Octavia had the EA211 engine which was also in the Audi A3

Petrol: Honda City only engine wise and diesel: skoda rapid best build quality, handling, brakes, steering response, suspension and gives more confidence at 200kmph than city or Verna.
Everyone doesn't get remaps so we would appreciate if u can drive the original cars without mods cuz when we buy them out dads don't let us get no mods

This is the bread and butter engine of audi , it is used in the a4 and q3 petrol
I have this same engine in my 2019 vw jetta. Its a Great torquey engine.
Its slower to 0 to 100 kmph 🤔 10 seconds with that amount of power 🤔... may be the weight 🤔... or the tune ... but who cares 😱 it looks soooo Elegant ❤

Skoda please launch Octavia 1.8 tsi with manual ,similar 180 bhp and 320 nm torque as on Superb with a lighter kerb weight would make this car an absolute sleeper
The biggest question is why people don't purchase this car? Sales are around 200-250 per month. Not just this car all other sedans in this segment like Honda Civic (around 370 cars) Elentra (100-150 sales) and Corolla (150-200).
Why people are obsessed with buying SUV?? There are people who wants chauffeur driver rear seat comfort cars above 16 lakhs segment.
To be honest SUVs are not at all comfortable to sit on rare seats "still nobody talks about in any review".
The rare comfort of Jeep compass, MG hector and Creta actually sucks!! If we talk about cars like Honda city and Skoda Octavia they are so damn comfortable in comparison to SUVs in the price range! Please somebody explain!

Power to weight ratio has been compensated by have no sound proofing under bonnet.
what is that sound at 08:23 when he changes the gear from 3 to 4? did he just break the gearbox changing gears without pressing the clutch? Though skoda has a lock on pulling gears without clutch engaged. But somehow that sound doesn't sound so good for the car...

Skoda is almost equal to VW, infact it's better in few aspects. But I can seen very less Skodas on road compared to VW. What could be the reason for this.
