I did the sapphire swap, not hard at all, get a press and a crystal from Ali Express, very cheap and very effective

Please stop changing straps live on video, it makes me feel inadequate. Every time I do one I need protective goggles and an angle grinder.
Either that or show the blooper real where it actually takes you 15 mins, breaks two springbar tools and is accompanied by the appropriate level of creative profanity.

This is why I stay out of conversations on what watch products will or won't sell. I have a Batman Duro in my watch box I bought for $50 (love the watch), but I would never dream of adding a $60+ band to a $50 watch. As you noted, it just makes no sense to 'me'. However, there are apparently a whole lotta people not like me who think otherwise. What can I say, the bands are gorgeous (including the rubber ones) and really add to the look of the Duro. Maybe another way to look at this is what can you buy for around $100 (all in) that looks and runs better than an Islander accessorized Duro?
Exactly, i'd just buy another duro in front of buying a strap which is more than the value of the watch..

The Casio Duro was my gateway drug into Japanese divers.
Nice going! For a diver, I typically like straps vs the bracelet and, for this “affordable” Duro, it seems to be well worth the price to have a good quality strap.

The 107 is the European version. I've heard it drops the Marlin because of some licensing issue. Being in Germany I really want the one with the Marlin, but they are hard to come by here and if you find them they are crazy expensive - even the used ones.

Looks nice, Marc! I think I might actually be the only guy around who likes the OG rubber strap on my Duro. I'll tell you what I would buy though; A nice quality version of this strap for my Gen 1 Bond SMP Omega. 2531.80 / 2541.80. The case holes are different than the modern version watch, and all that's out there (that I know of) is Zealander, and its over $200 and has a tang buckle. So there's my two cents...Love what you do. Keep it up!
I'm genuinely impressed with how close AMZWATCH were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
I think an orange rubber strap would suit both watches too. And maybe a khaki one on the black. ❤

That looks a really good combination in blue. I've just ordered a Duro Marlin in blue from Amazon US and hopefully it will make it to Gran Canaria. All being well, I'll be ordering an Islander strap for it.
It makes tons of sense! The Duro economizes on the lume (it's amazing it even has lume) and the strap (it's functional but very basic, nothing wrong with it but most people upgrade it). The money goes into the dial and case. So upgrading the strap make sense, it's the same reason people get sapphire crystals for them.
I want one of these but I don't want to take a watch off the Long Island bracelet, I'll see if I can score a Pepsi Duro...

Looks gorgeous on both. The black might be more of my personal taste but the blue makes a bigger statement that the strap matches the watch. With some blue Jordans or something you'd add a pop 🎉 to any outfit. Really nice strap!

Love this watch, I just feel like the lume Casio uses on it is just such a let down. If they bumped the lume up a notch, this would be such a great, cheap, all-round diver.
I just took off my Rolex to put on my Duro LOL! Such a great watch but still wish they would do a 42 with a lug to lug 1mm smaller that would break the internet watch world LOL!

Im buying one already but how unreal would this be with a divers extension. I use my duro spear fishing on a milanese sized to fit over my wetsuit.
Thought I'd watch this just for informative//time-slaying purposes. But…holy cats, those straps *truly* transform the Duro, kicking it up that extra notch indeed. Well-done, Marc!

I bought my Duro from Amazon Canada in 2019 for 45 CAD. The price has pretty much doubled since then and they're still excellent value in my opinion. Nice move with the video title.

Casio need to make the MDV106 more available in the UK. The only places we can get it is as an Amazon import (with added cost, of course) or from flippers on eBay selling at insane prices.

@@the_once-and-future_king. No, the listed price for Amazon global store includes an Import Fees Deposit. So it is already included. If it ends up more than the deposit they cover the difference.
So, your rubber strap is almost 20 USD more expensive than what the actual watch costs (- on Amazon). And among your reasons for your pricing is, that the clasp is milled, to me the clasp on the bracelet you show in your video, is milled as well. I could be wrong, but 65 USD is quite the amount of money, even if it’s a nice rubber strap with a nice clasp. And it only fits on the Duro …??
@@axelmarx008 But the quality of the sum of the parts supersedes the total cost. It’s totally worth it. The Duro is the best bang-for-the-buck watch out there, totally worthy of a quality bracelet or strap. Bill Gates wears one.

These should also work on the MTD-1079D-1AVCF since the bracelet from the 1079D fits the Duro. The 1079D is an awesome watch. It just doesn’t have the popularity of the Duro.

I'd love to see flat and domed sapphire crystals for the Duro... Hint-hint. I know these are available on eBay from China, but I want to be able to trust the product and seller.
Why spend more on an inexpensive watch? I like tinkering, and the Duro is a inexpensive, solid base to start with.
Mine arrived yesterday and of course, like Marc, I put it on backwards 🤦🏽♂️🤣. But it’s brilliant. Highly recommend the watch and the strap. The ultimate beater.

I bought three Duros (Pepsi, black, gold). The black resin band is meh, but I bought one of your jubilee bracelets and now my black Duro looks 1,000x better. I need to get two more jubilees from you for my other two Duros. Edit: the new band looks great.

I was pretty happy with the strap/bracelet situation on my 3 Duros, you may have just ruined that completely!😂
About half my collection has the straps or bracelets installed backwards on purpose. Some straps or bracelets are more comfortable that way. Sometimes it's not a bug, it's a feature.
I love the bracelets. Own both and am currently waiting on both straps to arrive.
I'd love to see the duro on a beads of rice or engineer type bracelet. It'll be cool to have all the options like the skx case does at some point. Please consider making them in the future!
