Spidermaf demonstrates how he created a new UF2 firmware file with changing GPIO pins to use pico-mac on a non standards Rpi pico board such as the RP2040-Zero from TEMU. This is a walk through of what I did - but it took a bit of experimentation, and I lost some of the footage and re-recorded, so I may have ommited some steps on here inadvertantly. Soz!
Thanks to Matt Evans for sharing his code to do this:

    And the above uses: github.com/eva...
    Homebrew:

How cool that is! Is there also a version for the eps32 s3?

Great guide! What LCD is that at the end of video ? I may have a look at integrating sd-card booting into this so disks and the roms can be loaded or booted without having to re-compile the firmware. I'm the developer of Faux86-remake 8086 emulator for rpi and pc BTW.

I think there is a provision for sd card in the repo but that is more so you can have a persistent file system if I understood correctly. I've order a couple.of sd boards to try that side maybe after I do my pcb video, just waiting for the pcbs to arrive and test them. If you've developed some emulation already you can understand this better than me but being able to swap out the discs would be great.

@@spidermaf I've not examined the code fully but it should not be too much coding to have a bootable sd-card with a virtual file system or bootable disk images. I'm busy on other projects at the moment but I'm keen on working on this more.

A Atari ST on this .....

Ooh. That would be sweet. Not sure of the rp2040 capabilities compared to an ST but I bet someone will do it

@@spidermaf I put Mac roms into an ST TOS sockets and it works.😘 So reversing this, could work ....... ?

Would love an ST on a pico. Unfortunately don’t think enough ram on an RP2040 for a 512k ST, not even enough for the very early 256k models.
The new RP2350 has double the ram but still wouldn’t be enough for the full 512k.
The RP2350b though can have psram chip to expand ram. The Pimoroni pico2 plus uses it with 4mb of psram so hopefully someone will be able to develop it using one.

@alexcranmer8317 this is an amusing conversation as I was always an amiga lad and the great ST verses Amiga still burns strong probably.. but thinking about the chips in the amiga I doubt you could use the 2040 to emulate one completely, so I guess the ST would be similar. I had a device which took mac roms and allowed you to run apple stuff on the amiga, but doubt that's reversible. It just a case if the memory allows to get the emulator running on a Pico chip. Easy for me to say but need minds greater than mine to work it out. Anyone reading think it may be possible?

@@spidermaf Thanks for this guide, had been looking at building a picomac but never made my own builds before so will give it a try now.
I was an ST guy so know a lot about that machine.
Think it would be easier to emulate an ST than an Amiga as a more basic hardware used compared to the custom chips in the Amiga.
Looking at the github for the picomac I think the maximum memory you can have on an RP2040 is 208k from the available 246k so would definitely limit an ST or Amiga build.
