The way your gf usually says something negative about your food reminds me of how my mom interacts with my dad when he cooks. Hes a great cook, and he even used to work in a French restaurant but now he refuses to cook anymore because my mom never likes it and it makes him sad. I hope you never compromise your own cooking style or love for cooking.
I don't think that's the case with Quang's, shes just isn't used in western dishes yet that's why she reacts like that and that's what Quang's doing introducing her to new food,, give her time and she'll like it sigh

That's an induction stove top, it uses a magnetic field to heat the pan or pot so it has to be a metal. If a magnet attracts to the cookware, it'll work. It's very energy efficient but expensive.
