A group of YT'ers just did a "Minimalism Game" for the month of February. I participated this year and actually purged over 400 items, which is unreal considering I'm constantly decluttering. Great time of year for spring cleaning and you always deliver on inspiring others, Hilary! Thanks so much for keeping it real, my friend! God bless you and your sweet family!
Glad to see that decluttering is an ongoing process and not necessarily a destination. Good reminder that small, everyday things need to be decluttered and not just the big stuff! Every item counts and makes a difference!
I have a “to be glued/repaired” box in my laundry room. When I have accumulated about five things to fix,I open or buy a brand new Super Glue, lay a sheet of waxed paper on the counter, get out my little clamps and do everything at once. This has worked well for me for years! Actually,I do the same with my mending.Everything gets washed and put on a hanger with a piece of paper punched through the hanger that says “machine/ black thread/left armpit seam” or “hand mend/white thread/collar button”(with button pinned on😃) until I have enough to sit and do a bunch(I hate to machine mend and change out bobbins😞)It also saves a lot of time trying to remember what was ripped in the first place, especially if they’re not your clothes 😂
I love watching you! I am a 66 year old retiree and am determined to shed my stuff over the next few years in preparation for an eventual downsize. Very rewarding to see the stuff go!
Even before you downsize your find the benefits of living what you love so reporting. And you also find that gifting to others things that you no longer have use for is also very rewarding.
I like the mindset of passing something on to someone who might be able to use it or need it or love it more than I do- it definitely makes it easier to part with things!
I'm binge watching RUclips today and honestly had not planned to declutter anything, but now I'm motivated to at least go through the top two dresser drawers and my bedside chest of drawers. I've been sorting through craft supplies and Christmas decorations and posting them for sale on my personal FB and in FB groups, which is working out great, but I was also wanting a break from making decisions...lol. A quick declutter won't be very taxing, so THANK YOU! 😊
If you decide to get rid of more of the swaddle blankets and need to give a baby gift, use the blanket as gift wrap. They make such a cute and usual gift wrap for a new baby.
I just came in from our back patio and decluttered a bagful ...after watching this video I am gonna go and declutter another bag ...great video...thanks for the motivation 😌💕
I've been a ruthless declutterer (lol) for decades & my life/ home has since been very organized, not even knowing it was a thing. It's great to see you gals simplfying because I know your lives are going to be much easier because of it. BTW you & Dawn are 2 of my favs. ❣️❣️❣️❣️
I actually have a "Got Junk" truck coming tomorrow to pick up all of the big things that just needed to go. Poor hubby has spent the weekend gathering everything into one spot and he is pooped but it is going to be worth it. Slowly but surely I am working my way around my house decluttering as I go.
I like that you went with the whole house decluttering. A lot of the participants are doing whatever and not what the challenge was suppose to be about.
I m so motivated.. Definitely pushing me to have a whole house Declutter.... It is so much required as everyone is at home and making it more messy.... Thank you
For the electronics, you can either have them refurbished or bring them to an electronics / hazardous waste facility! I tend to go every half year with old batteries, cords, unsalvageable tech, and such. Now I'm switching to rechargable batteries so I'm going less!
I love how no nonsense you are when you declutter. That was very motivating, thank you! I also loved that you respectfully left your husband’s things alone. 🦋
I got a 10 min declutter done in my glass food container bin! Got some new square and rectangular ones and finished getting rid of old plastic ones! They should last me forever and they all fit in nicely! That little job has been nagging at me. Thanks for the inspiration ❤️👍
Great video, Hillary. Before watching this, I had gone into a closet and filled two very heavy kitchen trash bags with discards and recycling. I have more things to shift to other places and to donate, but it feels good to unload some things--like a burden is lifted. Thanks for the occasional motivation.
Hi, Your video motivated me more than any other one I have watched. You actually decluttered and it makes it easier for me to do when I see you doing it. 💙 Thanks
Just FYI, regarding your cellphone box, if you pull out the cardboard insert and turn it over, there is a"key" (it just looks like a weird piece of metal). It opens up your phone, should you ever need to get inside it. You can't open it without the key. I know you feel better after that whirlwind declutter! Blessings! ❤️
I got rid of 91 things this year yea! I loved it , now it is time for some else to love it. I have about 9 more items to get rid on my list. Room for new life to come in. 😃
I finally finished decluttering and deep cleaning my basement about 2weeks ago, it feels so good to go in there now! We have a church near us that has a thrift store, I made 3 trips with a full car every time of items we never use any more. Now for the garage!
I have been going back to your old Organizing videos. I am really into it. I have got rid of 50 items . WooHoo I have to tackle my husbands office closet. That will be a hugh get rid of. Lol
That was very refreshing, it really comes down to looking at items and being honest and real. Putting the maybe I will need it or use it ( another day) out to pasture 🙂.
I really loved this decluttering video for inspiration because I can relate to holding on so many little knick knacks that I overlook on the daily! Thank you
hi, we have sample of color changing string lights or led cabinet lights, perfect for home decoration, if you need the sample, please contact us, thanks
Thank you for actually decluttering lol. I watched another one of these and it was a stretch. She really had nothing to declutter and just moved things around. Must be nice! 😄
Well done! Idk if you’ve heard of Buy Nothing groups on Facebook but it’s a place you can post things for free! And get things for free if you’re in need.
Every time I go shopping, before I purchase an item I may or may not use. I catch myself!! Will this end up on a land fill ???? Try this tip, it has done wonders for me, especially at the $ store.
Super! Please where did you get the white container with lid in which you store your over the counter meds? I have never come across one like it. Also have you done a video on decluttering, sorting, orgainizing, and storing paper photos and digital photos? I am trying to tackle this overwhelming project and would appreciate any tips. Thank you.
We are planning to move soon so I put a box in the bedroom for stuff I don't want like candles some food I don't like some cloths just random stuff and I'm gonna sit it out by the dumpster at my apartment. I figure someone will take it. It feels good to get stuff out.
Your video was not in the playlist that someone else posted. I looked for you because you are my favorite... I had to come to your channel to see that you actually did do a calab on this...
I do that often where I put something aside for repair or I have big plans for it. Then a couple months later during a deep clean I feel like “who am I kidding” and in the trash it goes 🤣
You've done a fantastic job if that would have been me it would still be cluttered up I am trying to declutter. Love the diaper bag you had I really do if you look close by I would have got that for my niece she is having a baby and that would have been perfect love what you do thank you so much for your videos God bless you take care hope you have a wonderful and a very blessed rest of the week
I'm pretty sure old electronics can be taken to a Best Buy store to be recycled. I think I remember hearing that some of the money they get from recycling is donated to different causes around the world?
I did a yard sale once at our old house and found it wasn’t worth the effort. I like to get items out of the house as soon as possible versus accumulating all year to have one sale in the summer. Just personal preference
Can you please tell me what the name of the book is that you tossed because it was torn up?! I read that as a kid and for the past 5 years I have been trying to find/remember what the name of it is so I can get for my daughter. It was just one of those books you remember as a kid. Also, I paused your video and cleared out a bin I had been putting off for about a month. Thanks for always giving me motivation!!

Great idea! Or stitch them together to make a top sheet when child is ready for a bed.
You are the decluttering boss!

I liked how you counted each of these items!! I never count small things and then I feel like I didn’t get anything done. Inspiring!

That’s a great one!
That rusty red truck is so cool!
Old and un used electronics and cables ; you can recycle at Best Buy. Like the iPad and the net gear box.
Favorite.."Ah, whatever, forget it." Been there, often! Well done !
This was a hilarious video Hilary. Probably one of your best as you randomly commented on camera. I love it! What a great challenge.

Hilary you have motivated me to move some clutter out of the house today! 🙂❤️

I really loved this decluttering video for inspiration because I can relate to holding on so many little knick knacks that I overlook on the daily! Thank you
Yay! This is going to be so motivating! I am enjoying the collab. Thank you for contributing.
The editing in this was fantastic! ❤️ Also that cherry swaddle blanket was so cute!
It’s ALL so cute 😅 It’s so hard to declutter the kid and baby things but I simply can’t keep it all
@@OldWorldHome I get that! I keep finding more and more to part with. But the blankets ...too sentimental for now!
Amazing how much you found to move out of your house after your recent decluttering!
Great job Hillary it’s all those little things that we keep and we think will get back to and we don’t!!!🤗
hi, we have sample of color changing string lights or led cabinet lights, perfect for home decoration, if you need the sample, please contact us, thanks
Great declutter! Very inspiring! 🤗
90, way to go! It is inspiring
The irony of donating Marie Kondo's book 😂 good for you Hilary xxx
I believe that in the book she actually encourages the act of decluttering her book if it doesn't spark joy xD lol!!
Had the same Marie Kondo book, and said the other day....I need to declutter this. Selling now on Poshmark,
Love your calm voice in the videos.
So here I sit, watching your great video, when I really should be doing this myself.
Hi Hilary
Yes ma'am...Decluttering feels amazing! Great job
I just declutted my kitchen. It feels sooooo good!
Woohoo!
Such a motivating decluttering vlog! Thank you for sharing. I’m now ready to go around my home and start decluttering. May God Bless.
I just love your channel and your whole family!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the motivation, Hilary! :)

That’s a great place to be though right 😄
Great motivation. I am currently at my winter home in FL and I just went through my bathroom, bedroom, and guest room and got rid of loads of stuff.
yes nose frieda is amazing! I like to add it to baby gift baskets for a new mom!
You make this fun!
This was super inspiring.
Cooking dinner and watching this video. Opening my cabinets right now and see what I can get rid of! Lol
Well done! Idk if you’ve heard of Buy Nothing groups on Facebook but it’s a place you can post things for free! And get things for free if you’re in need.
I’m just starting my decluttering journey 🤗
50 items-what a GREAT idea! I’m in 🙂
Every time I go shopping, before I purchase an item I may or may not use. I catch myself!! Will this end up on a land fill ???? Try this tip, it has done wonders for me, especially at the $ store.
Love this. I recently decluttered two old ipads. I didn't know what to do with them either, but I traded them in on Amazon!
For the next time, the sodium chloride/normal saline makes a good wash for scrapes and cuts. Doesn’t sting as much as plain water.
Super! Please where did you get the white container with lid in which you store your over the counter meds? I have never come across one like it. Those bins came from homegoods many years ago, and no I haven’t tackled paper photos or digital yet!
We are planning to move soon so I put a box in the bedroom for stuff I don't want like candles some food I don't like some cloths just random stuff and I'm gonna sit it out by the dumpster at my apartment. I figure someone will take it. It feels good to get stuff out.
Thanks and good job! Came here via FrugalFitMom and Minimal mom.
Welcome!
Thank You! Very motivating
Young house love! Totally understand why you passed them on, but I feel like it was just yesterday you saw them in NY! Great inspiration thank you!
I'm so starting this!
We declutter so similar, we know as soon as we look at it, if out it goes
Love to see your video pop up in my feed ❤️
hi, we have sample of color changing string lights or led cabinet lights, perfect for home decoration, contact us if you need it, thank you
Wow!! Awesome!! Thank you!!

I decluttered along with you!!
Thanks for the inspiration. I decluttered my two bathrooms and got rid of 25 items

Please consider donating old blankets and linens to your local animal shelter.
What do you do with old cell phones or ones that have broken screens? I have so many in a drawer!
Thank you so very much!!!
Love your intro 😃❤️ ...and a good video as always 😊

Thank you. Hillary. For this great declutter motivation. I wanted to ask you. Is that free swap in all states. ? I live in Pasadena, Texas.
It’s just amongst friends, you could definitely start one! 💛
Great job 💞
Hey!!!! If you ever decide to “declutter” the terrerium, I’ve had my eye on it for a long while! Haha.
One of my all time favorites, that’s not going anywhere ☺️
I'm pretty sure old electronics can be taken to a Best Buy store to be recycled. I think I remember hearing that some of the money they get from recycling is donated to different causes around the world?

Hi Hillary, do you ever have a yardsale yourself or do you just give away and donate? Love your home and videos.
I did a yard sale once at our old house and found it wasn’t worth the effort. I like to get items out of the house as soon as possible versus accumulating all year to have one sale in the summer. Just personal preference
Woo hoo! 90 things out the door🎉 I am going to try this today.
Nice job 👍🏼
