My wife thought I was going to sell one of the older ones but I've just obtained council approval to put a new shed out next to the other shed. I will keep my Lexus in the new shed.........and I might have to build some sleeping accomodation out there for when the wife finds out

@@georgeh559 Not true. Lexus UX, NX, RX, GX, and some of the lower trim ES models are assembled in the USA & Canada. And no, not all engines are assembled in Japan. Only their V6's and V8's come from Japan. All of Toyota's 4 cylinder engines are assembled in the USA.

Reliability and longevity are as much about the quality and durability of the components as build quality. Cheap fuel pumps, water pumps, timing belts/chains etc can do a lot of damage to a manufacturer’s reputation for reliability. Lexus knows this. It’s cars are not typical company cars like Audis or VWs which seem to strive to be reliable only for the 4 year fleet ownership cycle. I’ve read that Lexus doesn’t regard it’s vehicles as high mileage until they pass 200k miles.
...I realized these Lexus workers are seriously hard core when I saw the white gloves and helmets... they are putting some serious energy into these vehicles just building them. And by the way, Lexus, Americans do consider the made-in-Japan Lexus/Toyota to of course be far superior to those Lexai clapped together in Kentucky or someplace USA
I’ve got a 2007 Lexus ES 350 with 185,000 miles on it. I’m gonna run that thing as long as I can, hoping to get it to 300,000 miles. I believe the last ES 350s that were built in Japan were built in either 2014 or 2015. When my 2007 days I’ll be looking for one of those.
Just saw a similar video from the 2024 mercedes plant in Sindelfingen, Germany. That makes this plant look pretty old-fashioned and a bit messy. My choice? Definitely Mercedes Benz.
@@paigesnow4098 Front end alignment off and there's a piece of some clear double sided tape that is a 1/4 inch wide across the little window where you see the VIN on the dash. They aligned the car (not perfect and I am picky about that so I'll be readdressing that) and the tape is here to stay until the windshield gets replaced, if ever. My 19 RAV had intermittent trans trouble they could never settle. My 22 4Runner was and still is flawless.
First start by looking up the VIN number on your RX350. If it starts with a number (ex. 543NJ..., it was assembled either in the US or Mexico), if it starts with a J (J7634C...) then this means it was FULLY assembled in Japan and built to the highest standards possible.

Lexus ES are built in Lexington Kentucky, while RX are built in Cambridge Ontario Canada. All the other models like the LS are still made in Japan.
