I know that you are not asking me, but here goes since I have one myself. Out of the box, it's very decent, but... That cab is very top heavy. What I did with mine beside aesthetics changes are front outer portals in brass (fairly cheap on Amazon/Alibaba), steel bead lock wheels from Alibaba (not aluminum, real heavy steel, also fairly cheap, but carefull with the second gear as this a lot of wheel inertia added, could break some portal gears or even axels), metal front bumper and metal winch (even though this weight is above the springs, it helps the front balance a lot for climbing. All that should set you back no more than 80-90 USD (assuming, not my currency). With that, even with this ridiculously heavy body, I follow TRX-4 sports with trimmed out body and heavy modding. Ok, maybe not 100%, but close enough to stick with the beautiful Defender. In his video, I always assume he went with very low viscosity oil, around 10-15ct, which creates that really rubbery left to right wobble. I use 15 in the front, 25 in the back.
And if you want to go further, front overdrive diff gear, back underdrive. That's an easy 80-90 USD just for that though. Also get predator proline tire (hyrax, super swamper or BFGoodrich). That's game changer, but also another 70-80 USD.
