I think that may have been Mel's actress's voice. Remember the recording Ellie listened to after visiting the Hospital? That was Mel recording a testimonial right? I guess we'll see. Can't wait
Sounds exactly like Kaitlyn's (Abby) voice though.
Mel will be played by Ariela Barer. This is clearly NOT Ariela Barer's voice. Also, why would they choose to use some secondary character what hasn't even been shown in a single clip so far, as the main voice for a new teaser? That voice is clearly Kaitlyn Dever's, I recognize her voice regardless of the context. I don't understand why y'all like to just overcomplicate things when the only solution is the simplest one: this is Abby confronting Joel.
No the one Ellie found in a flashback in the hospital is Abby speaking about Joel and Ellie
@@dakotamiller9646it’s definitely not Abby, she would be talking about how her dad is dead and everything.
Ooh this could be exactly right!!
I wonder if the scene of Abby walking through the hallway will be shown to us for just a few seconds before she wakes up in the mansion. They then could play out the whole scene by the end of the season.
this is exactly what I was thinking. they'll show this dream sequence for the first time and then they'll keep showing while we get more and more clues, just like the game. I'm so hyped holy shit
Yes that’s a great idea!
the 2 seconds in and needing a break was so relatable
After thinking on it for a little while today, I think they may end the season with Ellie coming back to the theater after torturing Nora. I think they may stay on that scene a lot longer and show more so we’re left with the image of Ellie exhausted and reeling from the horror she unleashed on another human being with her own hands. Just like they left us to ponder Joel’s violent act of love in season one, we’re left with the image of Ellie sitting in the realization of how far her anger and sadness has taken her. That scene of Ellie’s back all bruised and scraped after killing Nora has always stuck out to me more than other emotional scenes. Her body language and expression of her coming back into her body and conveying that she’s searching very deep inside herself to find her humanity, or what’s left of it and she’s realizing she can’t find it. I felt like that was the moment she realizes something in her broke and she’s not the same person she woke up as that day.
Never thought about it but it's actually kinda perfect stopping point, especially since after that it starts to get crazy and plot heavy and as s3 it makes sense too
i've never seen someone so delighted to flip a calendar a couple times! your content has helped fill the gaps in between new stuff from ND and the show, please keep up the great work!
Them revealing who Abby is from the trailer and the fact that there are so many Isaac & Seraphite scenes is really making me think they will show both sides of the story at once. I just have a hard time imagining keeping the original structure without the twist. And while Isaac flashbacks would probably fit well with scenes of Ellie & Dina exploring Seattle, I think the Isaac & Seraphites scenes obviously fit Abby's story much more. This is making me sooo curious
The story can describe the WLF takeover quite easily, which involves Isaac. And the Seraphites were very much a part of Day 2 for Ellie. Not exactly new ground.
Agreed. It wouldn't work to stop following Ellie for many episodes. I think it's for the best. But the first scene will be her dreaming, probably. It won't get to the end where she finds her father.
“what does this mean??” IT MEANS FOR EVERY TLOU FAN TO GET THERAPY AFTER THIS SEASON.
well I thought that was a given
When we’re introduced to Abby in the game she just wakes up from a dream before talking to Owen but they never show the dream until she has it again later. It’s a reoccurring dream of the same thing, which is the hospital sirens and what’s behind the doors. That’s what I think is what the beginning is, is her dream at one of the points in the game.
"It doesn't matter if you have a code like me" -- lot of people are thinking that voiceover is Mel, and in this case she'd be talking about the Hippocratic oath maybe
The quote makes literally no sense in that context. The quote is saying, even if you have a code like mine, this thing is still fucked up. It's a code of like justice or something, not one of peace.
They're riding the coat tails of dexter. They even dressed her like him in the game
I’m predicting that the voice is Abby’s when she is talking to Owen to convince him to go after Joel. When she says “code,” she’s referring to a moral code. She’s implying that no matter what your moral code is, what Joel did at the hospital was “wrong” and they need to go after him.
Maybe it's a part of that speech she's got rehearsed
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
LOL that would be amazing
underrated comment
imo that is 100% Kaitlyn Dever's voice. one of my fav actors. seen everything she's done and could not be more excited for her performance.
that response works for me - i imagine that someone is trying to comfort Abby while she's moving towards her revenge for the thing that "everyone agrees is just wrong".
they're really going to have to clearly communicate to the TV audience why this was necessary.
great channel & great content as always thanks!
neil said : oh, you wanted more infected ? hold my beer, craig.
Most people are probably gonna guess that Abby was part of the fireflies, and is getting revenge on Joel for killing so many fireflies and dooming humanity.
But the real reason that Abby kills Joel is because he killed her dad. So by giving the audience enough information to think that Abby is getting revenge for the cure, they can reveal later on that the doctor was her dad, to get the audience to now think about the parallels of both Abby and Ellie getting revenge on their dad’s murders.
It’ll still have the same impact as the game, just with slightly different methods
Which is a neat path to try given Ellie thinks this the entire game.
@@jynxycats Ellie only learns about the Firefly connection for sure when confronting Nora, no? But a lot of players do make the connection much earlier than that so I think it still makes sense to get viewers on-board earlier.
The thing is, they've also already shown Abby in both the teaser and trailer doing a teary-eyed vengeful turn around from what is obviously a grave with a pendant on it. So just from these two shots alone, show-only viewers can fairly easily connect the dots that 1) Abby is a young Firefly who was at the hospital when Joel massacred the Fireflies, and 2) Abby personally lost someone (also a Firefly) who meant a lot to her.
I suppose that this tracks; HBO's version of the story has already gone out of their way to sand the edges off more difficult characters like Joel to make them more palatable to the audience, so it should be expected that they would agree with the people who have been complaining, "Omg they should have let us play as young Abby first so that we would sympathize with her _before_ she kills Joel!" for years.
I just wish that they hadn't, because it fundamentally undermines what is to me one of the most powerful points of the game. The first game gets you to fully sympathise with someone, be fully on their team, and then watch as they do something arguably monstrous. The second game is a deliberate foil to that: where they give you every reason to hate someone, introduce them at their most monstrous, and _then_ ask you if you're still capable of humanising them in your mind and finding them worthy of sympathy.
I couldn't tell with the voice at first either but if you really listen it does sound like Kaitlyn/Abby. Possibly new dialogue when talking to Joel, I'd think
To me it sounds almost exactly like her, if it’s Abby she nailed it
I was listening to interviews with Kaitlyn Dever and I’m like 99% sure the voiceover is her. By code I took it as moral code and I’m thinking it’s part of her speech she says to Joel before, ya know 🏌🏼♀️. That’s my theory anyway.
i think that the scene with ellie screaming is the chemical burn scene, she seems to be wrapped in some sort of towel and there's a hand placed on her shoulder that doesn't seem to be pushing her down but rather an act of grounding
I’ve seen this a lot and I just cannot buy that Ellie’s look of utter devastation is from a chemical burn, haha. There’s too much emotional pain in that expression to just be that. It would make a ton of sense for it to just be her waking up in recovery after the golf club scene.
@ while i understand that, i respectfully disagree because if this scene had taken place post-golf, ellie would likely have some facial injuries and she doesn’t seem to have any in that clip! personally, i believe it looks more like a scream of agony and pain rather than grief and shock. also there’s a small clip in the first trailer of ellie’s chemical burn too!
6:08 Someone once said Maria and others are giving her an acid burn to hide the bite scar and I think that makes a lot of sense tbh
THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE
Maria doesn't know about Ellie's immunity in the show and I highly doubt Tommy told her
@@sapphixated That didn’t occur to me, you’re right. Thank you for clarifying!
My guess is Tommy is forced to tell her after something happens
oh we're definitely getting a seattle history episode
I like Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, the only thing that puzzles me now when I’ve found out - is her height. In game Abby is easily 1.80m. She is about the same height as all the men. Kaitlyn is 1.60m. That kind of height difference will hit absolutely differently with the character.
EDIT: When I said “hit” I meant it in a “character will have a different feeling”, or “aura”, so to speak. There was no pun intended about “hitting” things. No spoilers.
So excited I found this channel before season 2. Can’t wait for your breakdown
I was waiting for your video from the moment I saw the trailer hahah
I know, me too. The best ones always make us wait. And the ppl that have never played the game always post first. 🤦
The voice sounds like Kaitlyn's voice to me.... and I hope Ellie will end up with the pipe... that "detail" is important, considering she "made her talk" (with the pipe) 😅 That's what changed Ellie after she goes back to the theater... 😢 That's why, I think, it's important that they stay faithfull to the original scene... 😊
I think it’ll premiere the same day as the PC port. I was really thinking March release, the pc port was released at the end of the season 1 the last time. However, I think they want to release them together to get people to “play” alongside the TV show.
They can’t because the PC release isn’t on a Sunday.
The White Lotus has 8 episodes starting February 16th, so TLOU season 2 will start on April 13th.
@@annabourdieu Might wanna look at the news release again, its 4/3/25, Thursday.
I do wonder if they will make the Abby "reveal" a lot sooner so audiences who haven't played the game immediately understand her actions and why they are somewhat justified, therefore maybe avoiding some of the hatred around her character (that would probably also be directed towards Kaitlyn). I hope this isn't the case because it was so impactful in the game and only players with the emotional maturity of a carrot couldn't get past the fact that Joel wasn't a perfect person - I'm interested to see how it will play out from a storytelling perspective!
An artist I follow, who also lives in Vancouver, said a while back how they were filming Part 2 near her house, and the location choice for the scene they were doing was A++ On Point. I'm so excited!
Thank you for making theses videos part is my favorite game of all time and it's so great to see other people so much as well, also season 2 looks soo good can't wait
Abby bits might be some flashbacks. This was such a wholesome & funny explanation vid.
I would personally not like starting the season with the Abby flashback.
It would kill any suspense.
Some of the show was filmed up in duncan and nanaimo and i live down in vic, so anywhere i recognize im gonna visit afterwards with my nee ellie tattoo
Unpopular opinion, but I really believe that both Ellie and Abby's 3 days in Seattle will be included in season 2 and season 3 will be a major expansion on the epilogue part of the game as well as close to Ellie's story. I think it makes sense because I cannot find a naturally occurring pause in the story beyond the theater scene, which they've been proving to show more of Abby's story so I don't think that can happen. Also, I am not sure how they would conclude Ellie's story through the video game medium and have it still be fun and unique. I know most ppl will disagree, but from the writing/producing stand point, I think it makes the most sense.
the voiceover is kaitlyn dever, could very well be part of Joel's death.
They’re showing us so much, I have to imagine that the show might end where Ellie’s day 3 ends-but I also think we’ll get both Abby and Ellie’s days happening parallel to each other.
I think it makes sense to pick up season 3 with Abby and Ellie’s fight scene, or we’ll get to see that but they won’t show us Ellie and Dina on the farm.
Knowing that they plan to divide part 2 into two different seasons, I’d like to imagine that they’ll expand a lot on Santa Barbara in season 3
5:25 I believe that's Mel talking to Owen and it probably sounds muffled because it's through the aquarium doors, before Ellie walks in.
Prediction: they’ll start the first episode with Abby walking in concerned and cut to intro right as her eyes go wide and gasp before yelling and the last scene of the last episode someone telling Ellie “you don’t know Abby? Well…” *cue first scene to its entirety of her breaking down and yelling “DAD?!?! DAD!!!!!!” And Owen holding her as you see Abby’s face change from devastation to the look of revenge as all she hears is someone on the walkie saying “Joel’s getting away” with her just hearing repeatedly “Joel” *cut to credits and the wait for the next season* 🥲🥲🥲
This is going to be the highlight of 2025 for me. I'm counting down the days!
It’s most likely Dever from the voice over. Shambler might appear in the the 3rd to last, the penultimate or season finale episode. Ellie might not have the pipe. But we’ll see.
6:09 I definitely think as well that this will be a moment in the hospital, and then right after this scene it will be Ellie agreeing to become a cure.
8:30 since the teaser we got months ago I have been thinking hard on how long this season will play out and I think this kinda answered it for me! This scene will be the end which means we get jackson and Ellie’s three days then this scene. Then 3rd season will be Abby’s three days and yara and lev story then the farm then Santa Barbra
It’s not gonna be Ellie agreeing to be the cure. That doesn’t make sense with how the story ended. It’s very important and made clear in the show and game that Ellie was not given a choice by the fireflies and that it was gonna get done without her consent. It’s a big factor that Ellie never had a say in the matter
@ yeah true then it might just be a moment but she was put to sleep or just maybe a dream
The White Lotus season 3 finishes on sunday april 6.
So... Sunday 13th it's the perfect date to star TLOU2, 10 days after the realese of the game on PC!
not the pitfighter lesbian trajectory cryinggg
They showed Abby's arms for a reason in that teaser. I think you will see a buffed Abby when they get back to Seattle. In the game you don't notice how buffed Abby is until she gets back to Seattle when she is walking through the WFL headquarters with Manny.
Since they have shown so many scenes that are revealed late in the game, I think they are going to go for a more chronological order (but maybe not reveal everything, just keep the general chronology) to try to get the general audience to emphasize with Abby's side faster. And to keep *spoiler* in the show as long as possible, though I think they will keep showing more flashbacks in season 3 to allow that anyway. But yeah, I'd be amazed if they didn't go with a more linear structure to keep people watching.
I’m calling it right now! Jeffery Wright (Issac) will appear in at least 2 episodes. Maybe 3. I watched an indie movie on Prime that Dever starred in and she can do drama.
I don't think the shot of Ellie in the red lighted area is the one with Nora. It sorta feels like a misdirect and it'll just be a scene from the subway area with her and Dina going up against the Shamblers and Clickers. And I say this too because Ellie should be wearing her short sleeved ripped button up for that sequence and not a heavy coat 🤔... But either way I'm still very excited to see how they layout this season 😁
I think it could be a hallucination/PTSD/dream like how they said they were going to add more of that in the more recent tlou2 update. Like that hand could Marlene in the hospital (based on the hospital look/blinds behind Ellie), maybe Joel dies there from Abby instead of everything else. Similar to the idea of Abby's dream of Lev and Yara being hung. 6:21
Hmm, oh yeah! Like in lost levels with Ellie's ptsd trigger with the screaming wild boar in the gas station, or the clicker stuck to the wall in the sewer.
@foxtatertot yesssssss!
My partner hasn’t played the second game even though he played the first, so it was interesting to see his reaction 😂 he figured out Abby was a firefly IMMEDIATELY (he only knows I love Abby and think she’s over hated lol) by the light shining on her tag and he somehow had a theory “there’s this other group, but all the stairs blocked in the first game were by this other group and they use the roof to climb along towers” and has an inkling that Joel might die at some point late in the story (not early on) and Ellie will have to figure out her footing on her own without Joel. It’s so funny how he’s half right with his speculations 😂 didn’t even notice you uploaded a few new videos under a new name until now!
thats kaitlyn dever my queen i would recognise her voice. im SO excited for kaitlyn devers portayal as abby it is my main reason for watching as she gives me such hope she will nail the character
Your reaction to the trailer is so relatable! I was wondering if the clip where Ellie looks like she’s wrapped in a bandage/waking up screaming is right after what happens in the mansion
Love your enthusiasm for this trailer! I have a theory to share. It comes from what looks like Tommy protecting Jackson from a swarm/horde of infected. In the game, we know why Tommy and Joel are on their own when meeting Abby. I don't think the show will go into the whole going out in patrols of two. The shows infected are too powerful for that. Instead, I think Joel and Tommy are separated from the town due to the horde attack. Or, they head out to lure them away from the town. And that's when they come across Abby crawling under the fence.
I’m so hyped I’ve found another last of us part 2 play-through to watch. And can’t wait for your season 2 reaction
I'll be honest, I think starting the trailer with that bit in the Firefly hospital is a stroke of genius. People who know the game are like "Oh f--- me, it's THAT SCENE", but people who only know the show don't have enough context yet - the hallway is too dark and red-lit to be recognizable as the hospital from season one, and we never heard the alarm go off before Joel got Ellie out.
Oh damn, that would be awesome, actually: start the season by teasing this scene but don't reveal enough yet for show-only viewers to get the context, then give us the rest of it right before the season ends? That would be some magnificent-bastard-level stuff right there. (Don't think they'll do it, though. It already looks like the series will be somewhat more chronological than the game anyway, since the last trailer included a moment from the final flashback of the game.)
Given this hallway, and what they had in Season 1 look nothing alike, it really is completely out of context for anyone not familiar with the game.
I think a lot of people will recognize the hospital tbh
As for the chronology, we only saw Joel and Ellie staring at each-other, not the actual scene. Again it could be one of those things where they tease it but we don't see the convo til later.
I guess we'll find out in April
As someone who's already lived through a event such as this October 2016, this is going to be a bumpy ride.
I (as someone who never read TWD comics) I was not ready for Glenn to die. He and Steven Yeun had become a fan favorite. So when Negan batted Abraham, people who read the comics thought perhaps it was going off script only for them to indeed proceed with what would be come to known as the most violent and shocking moments on tv. With how big of fangirls people are with Pascal, its possibly going to be worse.
Also, I still find it funny that they've essentially made Tommy and Maria into a makeshift Rick and Michonne, going so far as to even steal Michonne's backstory for Maria but also use the actress who orginally wanted to be Michonne.
Best of luck to HBO for this one, their gonna need it.
It's amazing the love triangle on both sides. Abby, Mel, and Owen/ Elle, Deana, and Jesse. Hopefully they show the good in Mel and Owen like the game showed the goodness in Jesse and Deana.
I made a tweet about out fighter Ellie with the exact same frame of Vi lmao
NO WAY I did too hahaha as soon as I said it I was like that's a tweet
@@sapphixated gurl no way gyahahaha
Its 100% Kaitlyn Dever's voice, listen her interviews or watch her projects, she absolutely nailed Abby's voice in those 10 seconds, you hear anger in her voice when she is saying wrong,i think Kaitlyn wll win Emmy for this role!
I happy and sad cry at the end of part one (game and show) His lie is beautiful.
I love how observant you are with each frame of the trailer! Interesting for you to theorise that they’re gonna stop season 2 at the “reveal.” Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts in terms of pacing if we’re not gonna get both sides of the story because I think they can still pull off having the entire game of part 2 into one season.
Also, I love Kaitlyn Denver from Booksmart so I’m worried about the hate that’s definitely gonna come her.
I think the first scene is going to be how it starts, but its one of her dreams - audiences won't see her father right away. I don't think it will take so long to reveal who she is, though. It seems they will show their paths side by side instead of doing half Ellie half Abby. It doesn't work so well in the show to stay away from Ellie so long. It probably means we'll get the "event" on episode 3 or something
I still hope O’Hara will be the prophet. I know there’s been a few clips of her and Joel but it’s possible they did that to throw us. She’s such an excellent onscreen presence that she’d be perfect.
About there not being things that “everyone agrees are just wrong” anymore (or if there ever were)- I feel like that’s the point, and would be great if they do aim for it. Going for a bit of dramatic irony playing that kind of moral certainty from such a divisive character against the hospital scene, especially if it’s Abbey speaking like it really seems to be. Even more so as it would be her justifying her own actions in response.
Joel’s decision is exactly the kind of thing that on both an actual level and a meta “writers understanding the fan player and viewer reactions” isn’t an easy answer for whether it’s “right” or “wrong”. Everyone in those games gets their hands dirty, and most of them are very badly damaged people from both what’s happened to them and what they’ve done themselves.
Stepping back a bit about nobody agreeing on at least “some things” being universally wrong- I do think that’s mostly true in reality but I think a LOT of people are very certain that at least some of their idea of right and wrong is “universally agreed on”. It’s pretty easy to phrase a question to get everybody to agree on it being “wrong”, even when it directly contradicts how they _really_ make decisions when it comes to it (or when you add a bit more context).
I don’t think anyone who doesn’t know who Abby is will know where that scene is. Based on these trailers I feel like we are going to get more Jackson mixed with Abby in Seattle and then her come to Jackson and do the deed then we will have a few episodes in Seattle with Ellie…. I am surprised about the scene that looks like its with Nora. I do think the best stopping moment is ending it at the theater with an Abby flashback….. I really can’t think of a good stopping point. But I don’t think we will see Lev and Yara.
I think because you know the game so loud when you see Abby 🐍 in the hallway it’s obvious to you that she is in the hospital right after her father was killed. But to a casual watcher, they’re not gonna necessarily recognize that as a hospital hallway. They’re not gonna necessarily know exactly where that scene is being pulled from. It’s just a girl walking down the hallway with the siren. It could be any hospital any situation.
I just compared them and it's definitely the same hallway BUT in the trailer they've used light to somewhat hide all the drawings on the wall so it's not AS obvious. but it's true that show-only watchers may not fully grasp the significance of that hallway anyway haha
09:50 They're showing "4 years ago" Abby.. So what does that mean? I'm sooo curious to see how they put it together!
I guess the show will start at the hospital but, as you said, they won't show right at the beginning why Abby is hunting Joel. Maybe they try to keep it a secret until the last episode, idk
"It doesn't matter if you have a code like me, there are just some things, everyone agrees, are just wrong." The context is, even if you live life by my code, which seemingly does some heinous shit, this thing that was done is still wrong. There isn't anyone that fits this directly in the game, but the context is the person's code has them doing some messed up things... that said, the thing they're referencing is even worse than that.
Coming from a TLOU streamer i really hope there’s not as much hate on it now that we know what’s coming
I’m so excited for this
The shot of Ellie screaming I think will be a nightmare.
You are right about her being conscious in the hospital, but...
I think at the end of season 1 Ellie knows Joel is lying about the hospital right away and we get the actual flashback of her going through the hospital seeing the fireflies and being made aware this is a shot in the dark but it's her choice and she agrees. Next thing she wakes up and joel tells her that lie she instantly knew was BS and that's the divide between them right away.
Really bummed they had the firefly reveal immediately, but see where it goes.
If I understand you, that kind of change about why she’d know, having Ellie be informed and a chance for consent, would totally change/cut the moral complexity of the entire situation so I personally can’t see it happening at all. Just on a practical level, Marlene would have absolutely told Joel if Ellie was asked and said she wanted to do it… and hammered in that point. Not that I think it would change Joel’s decision, but Marlene would to think it would have a far better chance than basically telling him they never let her wake up. But more importantly, suddenly it makes the Firefly’s hands WAYYY cleaner than they were.
My single biggest sticking point (granted I’m in a medical field and have done patient care in the past so it’s close to home) was the lack of any kind of informed consent. It blew any limited trust I would have had in their doctors being right to jump straight to a life ending operation when they have a live immune example in front of them for the first time ever. It’s throwing away a lot of options they had no way to even try before so someone saying it’s the only way to me comes across as either lying for expedience or way less competent than he thinks he is. To be clear, my personal take is that both Joel and the doctors were INCREDIBLY morally wrong but can understand why both sides did what they did.
That all said, I did always read Ellie as “knowing” pretty much as soon as she could think straight after the anesthesia wore off. It just seemed clear enough from the situation though having traveled with him so much at this point and with Joel acting so strangely.
@RocketSurgn_ part 2 ending would still hold though with this change. It's not about the fireflies or Joel. It was Ellie's decision and Joel took that from her whether she made the decision at the hospital or not she knew it was going to be a one way trip before getting there.
@ I agree that Joel took it from her, and because the fireflies died before they could take any choice from her too it was only Joel’s decision that would matter to Ellie. Also, while I think the Fireflies were wrong in what they did and how they did it… the reason was for a broad societal good and one that Ellie explicitly cared about and probably would have agreed to if asked, yes! Joel’s, though, was an entirely selfish decision however relatable may be, and one I’m sure he would’ve made even if he’d watched Ellie be fully informed and actively say she wanted to go through with it. But I really think the story absolutely needed a tangible reason like the non-consent to undercut the Fireflies moral position to give at least a bit or it’s just leaving Joel as an absolute monster (instead of just mostly one).
Just for clarity, I personally see the Fireflies as wrong (but probably less wrong than Joel) both for not asking consent and for not trying other options before one that removed all other chances. That option might have worked, but they did 0 investigation once they had her there to even know the chances of it working. It wasn’t just a shot in the dark, it was a shot in the dark without even trying to turn on the lamp they have beside them. They were operating purely on theory, and however much it seems right or however badly you want it to be right, in research and science untested theory isn’t much better than a hunch. If it worked it would have paid off big, but it was burning a lot of bridges. Also, if the lead doc was actually a surgeon that would help to explain why he was so hard set on “cut it out” as the only solution, and undercut the chances of him being right. Having worked with plenty of them and respecting them a lot, surgeons are like any specialist. They have a set of tools they spent their life honing, and those are the tools they find solutions in. The mindset of a surgeon is radically different from someone that would be involved in vaccine research and that will show up in what solutions they notice might exist. Certainty once you make a decision, often a “least bad” decision, is also something surgeon training beats into you through its whole culture.
i actually can't believe the voice over is causing such level of speculation it is so clearly kaitlyn dever!!! i haven't even seen many of her projects but i know 100% it's her
The Last of Us Part 2 is coming out on PC Thursday April 3th, so I think that Friday the 4th HBO could drop Ep 1 of Season 2.
My 1st theory is that the season will end on Ellie and Nora at the Hospital, she'll take 1 swing, then another, then at the camera, cut to black tbc. My 2nd is at the Aquarium where she encounters Mel and Owen, after she kills Mel a hand will reach for her but we won't see who it is, cut to black tbc?
I don't know, just some thoughts.
Does anyone else have an issue with Abby not being muscular? Like, despite the fact that it speaks volumes about Abby and her mental state, it's so hard to invision Kaitlyn Dever as a "Top Scar Killer" or her plan to one-woman army her way into Jackson, or be the badass protector to two teenagers (despite her being a talented actress). They can write her any way they want, but it sucks that such a pivotal and interesting aspect of her character has been omitted.
I'm disappointed too bc it's one of my favourite things about Abby BUT I also don't think it's essential to telling her story. I always knew they'd have a hard time casting that role similarly to the game. Unfortunately society doesn't really tell women that they'll be very successful as an actress if they're shaped like a CrossFit athlete. Acting chops had to come first.
Sadly true :...( I'm still excited and interested to see how it goes. Though honestly, I'm more excited to finally watch your "The Wolf and the Apostates" video now! 😁👍
@@sapphixatedI'm wondering if they've actually abandoned buff Abby or plan to get Kaitlyn a bit muscular during the break. Her scenes in s2 could be limited to flashbacks, and in any present day appearances she could be in a jacket.
Obviously she could not get anywhere near Abby's physique in like, a year or less or even ever, but Sydney Sweeney recently getting pretty jacked for just one role makes me think it's not out of the realm of possibility that Kaitlyn could attempt something similar. Or maybe I'm just coping because I love game!Abby 😭
Edit: Thinking about it more I guess it doesn't really matter, because the dynamic between Abby and Ellie in the game can never be fully replicated in the show due to casting. Which I don't mean negatively! Just that 5'1 Kaitlyn and 5'2 Bella aren't going to dish it out the same, yknow? Makes me curious how they'll change Abby as a result.
6:43 - No there aren't ENOUGH, we need more!!!
Listen, I'm just hoping for Shambelors and the Rat King! 😁
6:16 I also have been very cunfussed about Thai but I was wondering if it’s going to be her flashback/panic attack scene
I'll be looking forward to April because that's also where my birthday is. Oh well... my present is gonna be trauma I guess.
I've watched this trailer 20 times already. Im so excited🥹❤️
Helloo! Well, first of all, I have a question, if you don't mind, why the name change? :) cool word-play there!
Secondly, I think that the Abby reveal will be much quicker in the show, especially because we also have the scene in the previous trailer with Abby in front of the grave, so like... putting these two things together I highly doubt it will be kept secret for long.. I very much hope in the big twist, tho, I LOVED having to endure Abby's presence on the screen until you slowly get fond of her. That was absolute magic. Frustrating and unexpected, but magic nonetheless.
I'm just a little bit worried that with that structure in this type of medium there might be a higher risk of quitting from the audience. The videogame keeps you entertained because you're playing actively, but I'm not sure it would translate the same in tv form. At the same time I doubt that the non-gamer audience had become as attached to Joel as the gamer one (and they don't have 7 years of hope on their back), so possibly a tv audience would be more open to wtch with an open mind..? I don't know, I'm so curious to see how they do it! I hope we won't lose ll the tension that the game builds!
Also can't wait to see Lev and Abby's banter!
Last but not least, Ellie screaming on the bed could possibly be her having nightmares and ptsd, but I wouldn't be sure it would be on the farm. Maybe she has them continuosly throughout the whole series, just like Abby does, it could be a nice way of help mantaining the parallelism we have in-game. (edit: nvm, I saw she's bandaged and full of people around. I can't tell what's that about.)
Thank you for all your work, I'll run to watch your new video as soon as I finish my study session 🏹🔨
I hope they did not swap out the pipe for a gun because the pipe was "to much" because the pipe being to much is sort of the point
perhaps they re-considered the implications of showing a white person beating a black woman with a pipe..
@sapphixated maybe yeah they thought something like that. whatever they do I trust they understand the scene enough and will convey the same message of the whole revenge she went to far and is horrified at herself but thinks its the only way she will feel better thing
8:55 WE will know but someone like my sister wasn’t able to connect the dots. Even tho it’s kinda obvious if you think about it
@5:30 I think thats Marlene's talking.
yall thats definitely abby, 100% is abby, no reason mel should be talking about grief like that, she doesnt even know what happened and why joel did what he did
i think they'll probably do a whole episode on the saraphite prophet! that's going to be so cool
with only 7 episodes in season 2 I highly doubt it sadly. would be awesome though
I reckon that they’ll do a side by side along between Abby and Ellie till their first fight at the theatre then season 3 will be the a few years later - also gives the actors a chance to age up? Also leaves it as a cliff hanger?
Is the ratking at the end with the red flare
Showing us Abby in the hospital is interesting, because one of the big mysteries the first time around is not knowing WHY Abby killed Joel. I hope they save the reveal until the later and not just show us right at the beginning.
I personally want season 2 to be Ellie’s half of part 2 and season 3 to be Abby’s half and the ending.
I'm excited for this new season I think they may have the first scene as a nightmare Abby has, also I have that same calendar on my fridge
I UPON FIRST REACTION THINK THAT THE FIRST EPISODE WILL BE SOME IF NOT ALL OF ABBY'S YOUNGER YEARS LIKE JERRY AND THEN TRANSITION TO ISAAC MAYBE I DON'T KNOW I HAVE NO IDEA BUT I THINK THE FIRST EPISODE WILL BE HEAVY ABBY AND THEN I HAVE NO IDEA FROM THAT POINT ONWARDS BUT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT I have no idea why that was all capitals but I'm too lazy to change it so take it as enthusiasm
Had the same reaction
I don’t think the season is gonna end at her dads death cuz Isaac’s in the show too. Unless they change the order of the scenes
I will hate it they dont hold off the Abby reveal until at least the end of the season. At first I thought they showed too much with Abby in the hallway, but actually show-only fans likely won’t make the connection.
6:12 what flash bang are you talking about?
in the show in episode 9 the Fireflies ambush Ellie and Joel with a flashbang and then separate them
@@sapphixated oh I thought you were talking about the game. Ellie doesn't wake up in the game after the Fireflies take her so I don't know if they'll do something different for the show or not.
What siren were they supposed to use??
Wym "uploaded your video?" 🤔
I disagree. She said young Abby in the hospital is how season 2 ends. I mean, it's possible. But I think season 3 starts with Lev and Abby going to the hospital using those sky bridges.
I still dont understand why they would need to split the story to 2 seasons without putting in alot of filler. Not bad filler i guess but its really gonna change the flow of feelings and themes. But the story is retold so maybe its gonna feel different
i was thinking if we’re getting the rat king?
Here we go 😅😢❤
Abby better be gigantic. It wont be the same if she's not YUGE like in the game.
Your sound isn't working
08:10 is this THAT scene?? Why is wearing such a heavy jacket?? Looks like her winter coat.. Hmm!
Seattle be cold
@@sapphixated For sure! I just wouldn't be surprised it if was something else. Can't wait to find out!
