Here at TVAPE we LOVE experiments. We wanted to see if we could create a visual representation of the effects of vaping vs smoking on your lungs when using dry herbs.
We have presented our results for you to make your own conclusion and decisions on the effects of vapor vs smoke when consuming dry herbs.
Here’s what happened to our synthetic lung after vaping 10 grams of dry herb VS smoking 10 grams of dry herb.
Explanation:
Each pod had around 0.30 grams of dry herb, there are 38 pods used in total. For the purpose of this experiment, a 3rd generation dry herb vaporizer was used for efficiency
Each pre-roll had 0.60 grams of dry herb, there are 17 pre-rolls in total.
Shots were sped up to be able to see the visual change in color. The total time for the experiment was around 3.5 hours. Both the vapor and smoke were expelled from the exhale hose.
The end results give you a visual representation of how vapor vs smoke could potentially affect your lungs. When it comes to vaping vs smoking it is up to you to decide ultimately which you prefer, but we think this experiment will help you make a more conscious decision. - Хобби

I would love to see more experiments done with dry herb vapes because I recently switched and after 2 months of usage I can notice a significant difference in lung health
Dry herb baking is supreme. Cheers and happy vaping to you!

In a negative way or in a good way?

I quit smoking about 8 years ago, I just vape my herb now, and in that time I have gone from getting out of breath walking up stairs, to walking up hills for fun at weekends, it really does make that much of a difference.

sheesh i was smoking up resin in phelm since i firsrt started smoking as a teen lol. Weed is a diuretic, it makes you cough everything up. If you arent coughing anything up and smoke, thats when you need to worry, because it means the tiny hairs in your lungs have stopped working

@@sebastianc5155 why wouldn’t you want abv? And no

Never hear of pop corn lung with combustables.
Only inaccuracy worth mentioning is that the roach tip picks up very little resin residue compared to what the vaporiser picks up so there will be a tiny bit more resin left on the vaporiser but in my experience of dry herb vapes, which is a lot, this amount isn’t much and wouldn’t affect the overall take away of the experiment that is vaping is significantly less damaging than smoking.
Plus it’s easy to clean the resin from most dry herb vaporizers with regular isopropyl alcohol. You should be cleaning your vaporizer often.
well done...can't argue with those results !
Nice! I've always wanted to see this done with Dry Herb Vapes. Hopefully the same results apply to other devices. Imagine how annoying this test would be on a DynaVap 😂

Curious about the difference between. Vaping oils and DRY HERB vaporizing and potential health risks of both
Oils is not wise to smoke long term, just doesn't seem anything that would occur in nature, where smoking herbs is ancient practice and our bodies have adapted with it.
I know I'm replying to an old comment but... I second this
A doctor said the safest way is to vape the flower. Burning is less healthy and vaping oil is the most unhealthy because of toxins. Same as when it's burnt. Buy apparently vaping and just heating herb is good
@@truesight91distillate is just conecentrated weed, how could it possibly be more harmful
@Truesight just because something is natural and we've been doing it forever it doesn't mean it's healthy. Putting any kind of smoke from burning anything is bad for the lungs. By that logic, cigarettes would be healthy because the smoke is natural and we've been doing it for thosuands of years. If you want the benefits from cannabis without toxins then use edibles or sublingual oils but careful with their potency and don't go for synthetic stuff made like delta 8,9,10.
You just completely sold me the idea of buying a dry herb vaporizer.
I just want to say that I really appreciate the intro disclaimer. So many people take this like the word of god; if it's not peer reviewed and published, you should at least take it with a grain of salt. That being said, seems like a solid setup.
Anybody watching this and thinking about buying a vape, do it! They are amazing. Way stronger, you use way less and cleaner on the lungs. Best feature is you can control the temperature.
Haven't had my first flower vape over a week yet and lungs feel better already. Mostly smoke bubble hash though. Fats and lipids causes issues also, not sure about the waxes.....nice experiment, cheers
I thought this demonstration was dried and cured flower vape?

This is a great test and awesome video.
Would be nice to see a second experiment where the joints are build without a tip. cant shake the feeling the tip burned a little bit every time the joint had to be switched out.
Edit: also interesting would it be to see how much "smoke"-leftover a bong would produce
Well you can clearly see the tip didn't burn, because it's there the whole time, and looks the same.
@@heli0s2003 No, it does burn. Look closely.
@@heli0s2003lol ain’t no way you just watched multiple joint go from white papers to black ash, & say the tip didn’t get burned… unless you think we’re talking about the mouthpiece 🤔
burnt paper is already going to be a part of the inhaled smoke mixture that’s going into one’s lungs, i can’t imagine the slight over-burn on even a majority of just 17 joints is going to impact the results in any significant way.
@@Jsnipes98the OP is talking about the “mouthpiece”… that’s what they mean by “tips”, what some of us would call a “crutch” when it is mostly or entirely hollow or a “filter” when it’s filled with something to absorb impurities. most prerolls have a simple rolled piece of card stock or cardboard at the end one is to inhale from, preventing loose materials from ending up in your mouth and the ember from getting too close to the lips and burning them.
Amazing to see the difference.
wow what a result! would love to see more vids like this on your channel
This is why i switched from cigarettes to a vape, also i smoke much less with a vape since you arent "forced" to smoke your cigarette finish when it first is lit.
Different kind of vape. this is a dry herb vaporizer for weed
Congrats on your progress dawg💪🏾
Chemical nicotine is probably worse for your lungs than dry herb tobacco lol Its a business scam. Unless you are smoking (organic) tobacco in a vape of controlled temperature then its not really healthier. Its like drinking coke zero or diet coke instead of regular coke, they just replaced sugar with (artificial) sweeteners which are worse..
I heard vape is worse than cigarettes

Vaping stops me smoking tobacco. I also don't vape very much now. I wouldn't recommend either of them but it's vastly less damaging to my lungs than tobacco (coughing, thick sputum etc) ever was.

😱I'm watching this and regretting every cigarette I've ever smoked🥴😭😵
Amazing. Did the vaped capsule show any signs of residue? You did not show it closely at the end.
it would have been necessary to give the températures of vape and combustions used for the test, to pass 220 ° with a vapo there is also combustion with fumes and tars
There's an even bigger and more important difference for why smoke is far worse for living tissue, that you cannot see with this cute little experiment, because Carbon Monoxide, a toxic and deadly gas that's emitted anytime any substance is burned(particularly from embers with no flame), is not produced by vaporizing a fluid, but is always present in smoke as a substance is being burned.
the high of vaporizing is also way more clean
I went from smoking 1 to 3 joints a day (usually evening times) to a Dry Herb Vape.
Definitely feel significantly healthier via the vape. I'd near always have a low key rough throat or stuffy nose when smoking - this is nearly all gone (after no smoking anything for a month, and using vape).

This is a nice demonstration though I wonder about the few blackish spots in the vape cotton. They are so localized and sparse that it seems almost like an anomaly. Any explanation out there?
Do this same experiment with dabs and herb vaporizers
I use a flower vape with a water pipe attachment. Basically use water filtration 95% of the time that I smoke. A joint is nice every once in awhile though, its a unique experience and a classic way to smoke. I feel it gets me higher, but could just be in my head.
I've been using a vape for around a month now and I feel the same.
But I heard that could be because vapes don't give you the same sort of body high like smoking does. It's more celebral. Sometimes I don't know how high I am with the vape until I go outside... 🤣
I will have a few week tolerance break and see if that helps with it as well. I really do want to switch to vaping and quit smoking for good.
Smoking will definitely get you higher. You can smoke or make edibles out of vaped herb (edit: which shows there are still psychoactive compounds left after vaping). In my opinion, the best way to consume is to vape, save your vaped herb like you would fresh (in an airtight container with a humidity pack, away from light), and eventually use that vaped herb to make infused butter.
The inhalation of the lighter fluid could be contributing to your “high”.
wow, yeah and and oil vs street wax would be great agreed. Cheers!
Flower is a more mellow high
While carts are more intence if u not used to them
I miss smoking that G.M.O strain 1 bong rip and i was set, now my tolerance is high af
I would gladly take the place of the air pump.😋
i would be curious of a long term video, like the effects of smoking dry herb 3-5 times a day every day for a week or something along the lines of that, the tar buildup would be a-lot higher if the stream of smoke is rather consistent as shown.
Good point, but the main difference over time period I can see would be regenerative capacity of lungs/whatever cleaning takes place during regular breathing of fresh air. So not sure how much difference there would be unless the cotton balls and constant pump were replaced with I'm not sure what haha
He basically did that in this video. It’s slightly lower than 3 times a day for a week. The cotton isn’t going to change based on the daily gaps of intake.
How long does the vape thc stay in your system vs. the flower? And are they both detectable on urine tests the same? Also, great video! 👍
Thank you for watching! It wouldn't change, it would be in your system for the same amount of time. 😊
i think the rolling papers probably make the resin more visible in the smoke test, not sure how much but it sheds some doubt on the results. would be interesting to see the test done without papers but that could be difficult for separate reasons
Nah ini baru bener 😂

Wow!
Fascinating
Still not the best experiment since our lungs self clean themselves, and those containers don’t, but close enough I can get the idea.
It's still disgusting and unhealthy
What a ridiculous and closed minded comment. The experiment is only to show a visual representation between the two different forms of TCH consumption, which it does well. You're comment is like saying it is ok for guests to walk around your house with muddy boots because you have a vacuum cleaner.
It's not to demonstrate the actual condition of the lungs.
It's to demonstrate what goes into the lungs.
The idea is that the comparison is still relative to each other. As oppose to real lungs.
The ratio of the damage between both methods a what makes the experiment realistic.
People are worry about vape and smoke and forget sugar and fats🤦🏽♂️. The more you consume is the most danger
Good points..
All I do is edibles or vape flower. I have never been able to get anyone to switch from smoking to vaping. It makes no sense to me. It’s clearly better for you, it doesn’t stink and it tastes better.

People are learning slowly. Remember, pretty much all of Europe still mixes tobacco with weed. I don't think people are even aware smoking weed is much less harmful than tobacco. The world will learn!😀
Almost all of those joints ran at least half way through the burning. That’s the problem with prerolls. They also grind the flower up so fine that the joint clogs a few hits in. Sometimes you can get them for a bargain so I usually unroll them and mix it with bud I broke up by hand. Get super thin wraps and double roll it. No more runs ever.

The cotton balls on the left are fine because there just soaking with moisture instead of smoke. Which is WORSE for your lungs long term
Hello there! 😊 While we're not saying vaping is 100% safe, you can see, various substances are absorbed into the cotton because of the chemical reaction of burning the herb (combustion), we're just providing a visual demonstration. Vaping dry herb 🌿 is heating the herb, it doesn't reach the point of combustion. Many places highlight the advantages of vaping vs smoking!
Bro doesn't take showers lol
Idk if it's just me but I've never gotten as stoned from a dry herb vape as smoking the same herb. As someone else mentioned a lot of that gunk could be from the joint paper. At this point since I've quit tobacco so I'm healthier than I was when smoking cigarettes and smoking joints gets me higher I'm gonna roll the dice with the health risks and be more high in my potentially shorter time on earth.
Same lmao

@@dubsbarry9963 Yea I was thinking the same.
This experiment wasn't for you if you are going to continue joints even after seeing the issues. The burnt taste must be something you have gotten used to because the flavor alone makes vaping dry herb a way better experience.
I've used dry herb vapes quite a bit and I agree. For me smoking is much stronger because my tolerance is quite high. A little trick (but more $$$) is smudging bubble hash, resins or rosins into the herb. The dry herb pulls will have a much better kick. And flavorful!!!!
I want to recreate this for class but I can't seem to find this kind of pod? What's the name
