What a delightful lesson! Exceeds the singing aspects for sure. All that info about the piece, the background and context for singing was amazing. Not into opera singing myself but I've subscribed. Congrats for the video!
@@laleilha Thank you for watching and taking time to leave such lovely feedback. I hope you'll find something here you want to have a go at - it's not all opera! 😂🎶
Another great tutorial, many thanks for suggesting this aria. My biggest problem is pronunciation, I don't speak Italian or German (when applicable) but I will keep at it. I will succeed!😁 Somewhat melodramatic what?😃
@@davidmay8775 Thanks for your feedback! Don't let not speaking the language put you off - it's so much fun to roll those unfamiliar sounds around in your mouth! What's wrong with being melodramatic???😂🎶
It's not "LE" with an open E vowel, but "Le" with a closed "e". This is important as it is an essential part of Italian pronunciation. Leave Italian pronunciation to the Italians or to an expert in diction.
@@caninbar If we all left everything to the experts no one would ever try anything!!! I always say there is no substitute for going over your text with a native Italian speaker BUT we all have to modify our native tongue when we sing. English is notorious for being difficult to sing nicely. It's language and music combined, so it's not black and white. Not in my world anyway. 🤗🎶
You are wrong!!! It's very common to modify vowel sounds in opera singing. This technique is often used to achieve specific tonal qualities, especially in higher registers. Singing opera in Italian is not the same as talking the language.
The consonant „t“ in italian is not aspirated. E.g contino. Also the word chitarrino, „chi“ is a hard sound /K/…. The part pronunciation and technique is really more misleading than helpful.
@@gregorylimburg5474 We're going to have to agree to disagree about that I'm afraid. Please take some time to look around the channel and read the comments. Opera has a terrible rap for being elitist and exclusive....and you just add fuel to that fire. It's a tutorial suitable for beginners. Beginners who need to have their confidence built, not destroyed. 😁🎶
