Very informative sir.... column are cranked opposite to achieve hinge action so that the floating column only allows to transfer axial force and not moment and beams are given sufficient depth to avoid punching failure.

As per IS1893-part 1-2016, there shouldn't be any vertical irregularities present in the building like floating columns when designing a structure for seismic effect. Please clarify. Thanks
