  • Huddie William Ledbetter(Lead Belly or Leadbelly, January 1888 December 6, 1949) was an American folk and blues musician.
This song was recorded in 1942.
    Lyrics:
Hiltler started out in nineteen hundred and thirty two(x2)
When he started out, he took the homes from the Jews
We're gonna tear Hitler down(x3) someday.
We're gonna bring him to the ground(x3) someday.
When Hitler started out, he took the Jews from their homes(x2)
That's one thing Mr. Hitler you know you done wrong.
We're gonna tear Hitler down(x3) someday.
We're gonna bring him to the ground(x3) someday.
You ain't no iron, you ain't no solid rock(x2)
but we American people say "Mr. Hitler is got to stop!"
We're gonna tear Hitler down(x3) someday.
We're gonna bring him to the ground(x3) someday.
Mr. Hitler we're gonna tear your playhouse down(x2)
you been flyin' mighty high, but you're on your last go round.
We're gonna tear Hitler down(x3) someday.
We're gonna bring him to the ground(x3) someday.
Mr. Hitler, you know you ain't so keen(x2)
But we American people say you're the biggest liar they ever seen.
We're gonna tear Hitler down(x3) someday.
We're gonna bring him to the ground(x3) someday.

"We gonna' tear Hitler down." Very proud of my grandfather, who fought at Normandy and was one of us Americans who tore Hitler down, and very proud of all of our allies who helped tear Hitler down, too. Long live Leadbelly.

@dan thefan Please do some more research on a person before you condemn him to your trashcan. He's one of the most brilliant (quite literally too, google his IQ) filmmakers of the present day, bringing more than one hommage to the old days of cinema in a style that appeals to a newer audience. In a way, you can say, he's a historian teaching people the art of movies and moviemaking. And he uses violence and sex, but does he sell it, or does he exaggerate it on purpose? Did you know he wrote 'Natural Born Killers', a movie that only exists almost solely to teach us how wrong violence is: How we treat it in our modern society and how mediatized real life violence makes us quite immune to it? Better teach yourself, my friend, the internet is a big library where you can learn, it's not just there to put your opinion out there without actually knowing what you're talking about...
