Its use as a first name is derived from that I believe, or at least with my own name it is.

    Another uber-interesting video. I thought that a 'few' popular names were Celtic in origin -- until watching this video I didn't realize just how many are Celtic in origin -including the first or middle names of people I know....

    I always thought that Louis came from the latin name "Clovis" that sounds more like Louis and from a latin origin, but in spanish we also have Ludovico, i believe that one resembles more Hlodowik

    • @nutyyyy
      @nutyyyy 2 года назад +1

      They are all related. Clovis, Ludwig, Ludovicius, Aloysius, Ludaigh, Lewis and so on. There's typically a lot more variations in a lot of languages than can be fit into videos like this. So I don't know if Hlodowik is the original because I know it's related to Clovis.

      It could have a meaning, our daughters name is a combination of parts of 2 words which mean "Great miracle". Break your name down and you could find the meaning or check other languages. Example: SMITH
      came from the black smith, COOPER is from the barrel maker. You might be surprised with what you find. 😀

      @@ninaaaaishere I'M GLAD THAT I COULD
      HELP ☺. Sometimes we make things too, too complicated, when the answer is right there.( I most definitely have done this MANY times! ). I am surprised that from time to time people need help and I can actually help. So I watch the videos and check the comments for people that I could help on anything from names, to Kung Fu, to midevil Scotland and England. I am a bit of an eclectic. 😀
