    I can remember riding this when it was the only major coaster visible in the scenic landscape. It's such an iconic ride and I hope they have sense enough to keep it around.

    With the color of the cart, I thought from the thumbnail it actually went underwater. They really should make a coaster that dives underwater, even for just a bit.

      I meen in all honesty it's abit of a stupid comparison, busch gardens and disney have a completely different target audience, Disney is for family's and small children and busch gardens is for thrill seekers

      Nessie opened in 1978 so she turned 45 this year. She was my first adult coaster and I still try to grab a ride on her every time I go to the park. I was 6 when she opened but I didn't have the courage to ride her until I was 13.

  • @amywhite9972

    I used to love that ride. I've rode it many times. The last time was about 10 years ago. I knew then it would be my last trip to Bush Gardens. Arthritis had made it extremely painful for me. Not only the rides but the walking up and down hills was very hard for me. If i go back to a theme park, I would have to have access to a wheelchair or something and i don't believe that's possible at Bush Gardens with all the hills and stairs. Thanks so much for posting this video. Experiencing something i thought I'd never experience again through your video was truly wonderful.. 💖

    • @ashleighelizabeth5916

      I'm pretty sure there are wheel chair accessible ways to get around most areas of the park because of the ADA act and Busch Gardens in Tampa rents scooters so Williamsburg location probably does too. Nessie is a little rough by the standards of modern coasters but some of the newer coasters are a bit smoother...

    • @pdpamido
      @pdpamido 9 месяцев назад +2

      They have wheelchair access in the fast que. Also, they are re tracking the entire coaster. Should be much smoother. Expected to be ready by spring of this year.

    Bush Gardens Williamsburg is my favorite all time amusement park. There are other parks with better rides but the setting and the themes make it a true classic. Roller-coasters are usually just big fun monstrosities but the Lockness Monster was a true beauty to look at with its loops nestled in the valley above the water. Walking the path below you were just 15 feet or so below the track. When both trains were going through the loop at the same time, it was picture perfect.

    I first rode this coaster as a child (5 or 6), and I have sadly watched it fall into disrepair despite the parks efforts to keep it's original and Iconic coaster relevant and attractive to riders . The lights no longer work in the tunnel... at least not like they used to. They removed the monster's face that was a jump scare at the end of the tunnel. They had to de-sync the trains so that they would no longer perform the loops together... which was a major marketing factor back when it was first opened. The track has become SOOO bumpy, it's hard to ride (almost painful). HOWEVER; I was very pleased to hear that they are investing significant time and money into a re-tracking project for this beautiful beast. Here's hoping they can return Ole' Nessy to her former glory.
