      I had this problem to and I still have this problem when I wake up in the middle of the night. U have to be comfortable with wanting to go to sleep. Try to relax and embrace the feeling naturally. Don't focus on going to sleep or your thoughts let all that come and go. If that doesn't work try to lightly visualize something and focus on that. If it's from being anxious and uncomfortable stretch and try to lay in a position that is comfortable and don't toss and turn let your body stay in that position. Sometimes these things work for me as I have had bad night ls falling asleep for a month until I tried to just embrace it and not think or force myself asleep when I lay down.

      We know the world record a man not sleeping for 11 days but guess what he is still alive

      And then there is a soldier that did not sleep for 40 years

      I heard from another sleep expert . If this advice doesn’t work for you then here’s more advice . If you are activist putting effort in your sleep like doing safety behaviors like turning the lights off or keeping a sleep schedule to follow every day . Then you are making the insomnia worse

    • @Andrewtatesbutt
      @Andrewtatesbutt Год назад

      This is because sleep isn’t something you think about or our effort into making better . You just let sleep do it’s own thing to be honest . Abandon safety behaviors if they don’t help you or your schedule. If you feel like you can’t sleep or nap during the day because it will mess up your sleep schedule , then just do it . Don’t put effort or thoughts into trying to sleep

    So, I go to bed at 10 and I’m supposed to “be comfortable” not sleeping - give up at 2a, and pick up a book, bleary eyed, and read until I can go to sleep - which doesn’t happen … and then get up at six and enjoy my day. Riiiight.

      Same, I have to wake up to go to school and since my school for auto mechanics is 60 miles from my place I have to take a train which mean I have to wake up at 5 to get my train at 6 to be at 8 at my school, my day end at 6pm and my train is at 7 which mean I get home at 8pm.
      When I get home I eat talk with my family and go to bed sleep from 10pm to midnight and then can't sleep for the rest of the night and It's now a week I'm like this.
      I think this new life stress me so I have to adapt but until my body adjust to my new routine I have to deal with this stupid insomnia.
