Awesome step by step! Thank you!!! Took just under 5 hours from start to finish. Saved $500.00 from installation at the stealer. The only hard part was pulling the wires from the HD Batwing bars already on the bike. Thanks again!
I cannot thank you enough for this video! I have a 2015 Street Glide Special that I have been wanting to put new bars on since day one, and I wasn't going to pay the dealership to install them. I'll be ordering one of your kits soon! Thanks again.
Just got my pre-wired LA choppers twin peaks from HCC. Watched this video and did the install in 2 hours. Wow. So worth the money to pay for the pre-wired.
Great video, just want i needed to help me with a decision. I just recently purchased a used HD and feel more confident that replacing the handlebars is something that I can accomplish myself. Checking out your site now, well done.
Wow, you Rock! Best video and explanation ever of any thing and I watch RUclips videos all the time. Just bought a 2017 cvo blue streetglide with 12” bars. Can’t wait to ride. Winter up here in Canada. Thanks so much! Subscribed!
Best damn video I ever watched I was putting on grips pinched the wires so I had to change wiring harness on left side this video made it so easy had it done in 15 minutes Thanks Guys GREAT JOB !!!!!!
Great video! I have a 2022 Street glide special and the stock bars are causing lower back pain. They seem lower and further away than my 2020 Road King Standard’s stock bars which fit me PERFECTLY. Any recommendations for bars that have a straighter hand position, and will allow me to sit more upright?
I am currently waiting for my 14" LA Choppers Twin Peaks prewired set to arrive for HCC to install on my 14' ultra classic and I have watched this video about 12 times to familiarize myself with the process. I took everything off and got everything ready to install the new bars when they arrive, and I did everything step by step. All went to plan. This is a very good video. Now how do I replace my riser bushings? lol
+Brandon McNeilly That is a great question. We have plans to do a video. However, we do all our videos on a lift because recording is much easier. It does not allow you to turn the bars or steering head because the front wheel is clamped. The bike needs to be on a jack instead. No excuses, just haven’t done it. Thanks for bringing it up though.
@@HillCountryCustomCycles not a problem. Thanks for the quick reply. Another quick question, what size i.d. hose do I need to bleed the brakes and clutch? Also what size barb fitting do I need to use after cutting the line for the fuel tank
can you help me i dont know if my last bike was a 16 or 18 as i had it only 2 weeks and got cut off and almost killed by a delivery driver and never had the chance to measure the bars they were super comfortable I only have pictures of it wish i could find out how big they were I miss them alot do you know where i can find a place that has them installed to try out thanks
I was down for 6 months knocked my teeth through my lips through my nose and forhead was down to skull incase anyone was wondering they admited faullt in the end still not happy lost a great deal on an even greater motorcycle. still cant see out of left eye now ride on and be safe people you have to watch others closely cause no one is watching you
Awesome video, I was gifted a 14" ape bar for my 98 Dyna, and now after this video, I am browsing through your site to purchase the cable kit. Any recommendation on the cable kit would be awesome, but love the video and looking forward to installing it on my bike.
Wow!! Fantastic video. Thanks for posting. Clearly shows why this is such a labour intensive job. Just picked up a 17 RK Special and hoping to switch bars asap. Doing homework on tallest bars possible without changing any cables or lines. Any idea?
Hello what does the single white/black lead wire that connects in the right handlebar switchback do?? I'm doing handlebars as we speek and I broke the connector
@@HillCountryCustomCycles I will like to install a gloss black 12" apes handle bar. For the 12" I dont need to replace any brake line or clutch line? Thanks
Put some Paul Yaffe 12" monkey bars on 2018 Streetglide special. Follow Roberts steps and you can do it. Wasn't a bad job at all. I would just say I got the polyurethane bushings for the risers and long story short you pull the triple trees off to replace. I do wish that was in this video. And one other thing the pulling the ignition switch off and putting on is explained but some other videos on you tube explain it better cause i did have a problem but i did get it back on after some trail and error. At first the bars felt weird but now i don't know how i rode without them. Very comfortable. And lets not forget the cool factor. I was going to go with 14' but after a lot of research I choose 12". The 12" still leave me room to see into my stock mirrors I didn't want to put on the other in the wind mirrors. I'm 5'10" and i think the 14" would have been to long for me. Probably will be ordering some for my bro's Streetglide in the future
@@HillCountryCustomCycles I am attempting to install my 14" apes and unfortunately they are the ones with the sharp 90 instead of rounded. I am having a hell of a time getting the wires through them
I bought the bars and the job is very easy. The video is a great tutorial. the bags, seat and tank come off in a matter of minutes and the ferring is easy.
Great video! I was going to pay someone to install my new bars but after watching this I am confident it's a job I can easily do myself. Thanks.
Best video out there, shows more in 25 min than everyone else in 2 hours.

Can you please make a video on how to replace the riser bushings on a later street glide like this? Thank you
I did my bars with the gorilla clamp but I still have some play so I think the polyurethane bushings will help
Do you recommend changing riser bushings to the polyethylene bushings
Awesome video, clear & easy to understand ,in all a great presentation.
Will stock clutch and brake cables work or do I have to get aftermarket
Great video, best so far
Excellent video.
Does my 2016 Fat Boy S have the same connectors in the switch housing? If I get just the pre wired kit, do I still need to send my controls in?

If I install a 12". Do I need to change the hydraulic hoses too ??
What does that trigger switch on the left hand controls actually do? I have no clue..
It cycles the trip meter
Have you ever had to grind the fairing or the front button cover to fit the 11/4" bars?
Great job been a great help thank you and thank you for being there...
This is such a great video. Question for 12 inch bars on a 2020 SG do I need longer clutch and brake cables?
What did you find out?
Would this be the same procedure for my 2018 Fat Boy? Tank off etc. ? I want to install a set of 1"3/4 T bars. 😊
Looking good
Ain't nothing like riding high
Great detail
+Chris Frias thank you
I have seen where they do KST 14" on the same bike without changing cables. Is that really possible??
At 10:50 do you ever drill a little dimple for those set screws so they get a better bite?
+Mike McCartney I have really needed to, but you could, as long as they line up perfect.
Hello what does the single white/black lead wire that connects in the right handlebar switchback do?? I'm doing handlebars as we speek and I broke the connector
+Shawn Flanders it is for heated grips
Damn good video, best one I've seen so far. Will I need any extensions for 10" bars?
How difficult would it be to install 12 inch bars on a 2005 Electra glide ultra classic vs a 2020
What length clutch cable was required for the 14" inch bars?
What did you find out?
Hey Hill Country, great video. i need a set up with 12" bars. whats the cost please. Also install price. Thank you.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. I'll be doing some here soon and I have to say I feel even better about doing it after watching this. Great stuff
I dont believe I need to change lines on my 2015 streetglide to put 10" bars on ? does anyone know for sure??
Nice video I'm going to save a lot of money do it my self ...
No videos for install for bars or grips(heated) for 2012Ultra
what about internal clutch and brake lines, do you offer this ?
+mixalis Unfortunately we do not offer those at the moment, but we are looking to in the future. Keep an eye out on hillcountrycustomcycles.com
If like to see a video and bar recommendations for 2009-14 ultra classic.. Looked on line not one
Can you sell this set up with the wire already inside the handle bar?
+Rafael Sierra Yes, we have them available with all the wiring inside. All you have to do is plug them in to the bike.

How do you get the air out of the new brake line from the front brake master cylinder to the ABS module?

Whats the price on those bars with the wires already prewired ?
+Jovica Narancic $1229 with all cables and installation materials needed.

There's no way I'm putting all that back together the right way 😂 I have a 21 ultra. No way 😂😂
It was literally only a handful of screws and nuts. Lol
Ok I need 2 big crown royal bags... Guess I'm getting fucked up tonight lmao
