He also wrote a note in his piano that said “I would have killed myself if i didnt love my art” And he removed the legs of his piano so he can feel the vibrations
Another fun fact about the Ninth Symphony: I forget who, but someone told the orchestra to not follow Beethoven’s conducting instructions and to just keep playing after he cut them off at the end. The person wanted to take advantage of Ludwig’s deafness, but Beethoven caught it and kept cutting the orchestra off anyway. There was another incident earlier in his life where Ludwig was going to perform a piano work for some higher-class people. They kept talking throughout the performance, so he stood up, slammed the lid of the piano down really hard, and basically screamed at them for not paying attention. He had a pretty quick temper, apparently. 😂
Great video. I'm fascinated my Beethoven. I've been to his birth place, his many homes, his death place, helignstasde, hate that word, and seen many famous statues.
I love these composer histories. Absolutely the most entertaining music-related videos I have ever seen. Makes learning fun while laughing nonstop!🎹😂🎹😂🎼🎼🎶🎶
Though apocryphal, the "choose your own adventure" on this is usually: Mozart invited the young Beethoven to play, and then said "that is studied/prepared: improvise". So Beethoven did, and then Mozart delivered the line. Then Beethoven pulled on Mozart hair, removing his mask, and revealing it was in fact Haydn.
Unique talent. Great vlog... Seventh symphony, his only one through composed is just a dream. and those last 3 piano sonatas... didn't hear a note but produced perfection. Stunning musician and changed music forever. You can't have Mahler without Beethoven!
I recently subscribed to this channel. The videos are really good. Being a fan of Beethoven and classical music in general, I loved this video. The animations were hilarious! :-D Keep up the good work! 👍
Your videos are helping me so much! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Are you a music history teacher? If my professors were as interesting as you are I may have received a better grade.
Thank you soooo much, i borrowed a course in music history and was struggling to understand it, but thanks to your videos my exams went well. THANKKKKKKKKKKKKS!
thank you so much for doing those videos! I have my a levels exam in music coming up and listening to those videos is so much more helpful than studying just with my notes on Mozart, Haydn, etc. Thanks, keep going!
I remember the year Beethoven died. Me and my family had to move back to Africa. It was rough for us but we turned out just fine. We plan to go visit his tomb in Vienna next year.😔
Haydn's bd party, I remember a story that said he had collapsed. Beethoven's physical contact being not just affection, but also concern for Haydn, and probably fear he would die.
I did like my beer and red wine that's for sure. I had major cirrhosis of the liver happening and that dreadful journey on a cart in a winter storm gave me the pneumonia.
Can someone have a crush on a YT channel? Asking for a friend. I'm binge-watching these history vids and enjoying them. The nice part of the Classical/Romantic eras is that related content has a sturdy shelf-life...
Actually, he wasn’t born on 17 December he was baptised on 17 December. So currently, his birthday is unknown but many people say that people are baptised after 24 hours of being born so he could of been born on the 16th.
Very good video, I love classical composers. I thought that Beethoven was taking care of his brother's kid from a nasty custody battle with his brother's wife after his brother died.
Born in 17th December? Baptismal certificate said that and at that time one was baptized a day after birth so I think it's 16. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Beethoven did meet Mozart when he went to Vienna. Mozart let Beethoven play for him to see if he was good now Mozart was very hard to impress so when Beethoven played some challenging pieces buy Mozart responded coldly but then Beethoven asked Mozart for a theme and played and Mozart was impressed also i believe that Mozart invited Beethoven to a little paryy or something like that and Mozart said i’d keep ur eyes open for this kid
I'd read recently on the internet that his alcoholic drink of choice was wine, and the cheap stuff (my kinda guy) at the time had lead which made it sweeter (boo, lead), and so it was a combination of lead poisoning and cirrhosis both from wine :( And his favorite fruit was a ba-na-na-naaaaa. LULZ :P
Awesome video, just one little thing... It's technically pronounce like Ludvig not Ludwig. In German the w sounds like a v just like Wagner, it's not pronounce Wagner but "vagner"
He also wrote a note in his piano that said
“I would have killed myself if i didnt love my art”
And he removed the legs of his piano so he can feel the vibrations

Lmao Ludwig be pretty short-tempered like me too
Why didn't he shout at them? Was he deaf already at the time?
Hannah Quintua
Beethoven was completely deaf by the time he premiered the Ninth Symphony.

Oh.. imagine if he wasn't.. I'd be grateful to be born in the 21st century..
Pretty interesting video, I watched till the end. The popping up images are hillarious!

How did the squirrels up in a tree hear about him?
I love these composer histories. Absolutely the most entertaining music-related videos I have ever seen. Makes learning fun while laughing nonstop!🎹😂🎹😂🎼🎼🎶🎶
Mozart did meet Beethoven in 1787 . Mozart said about Beethoven, “He will give the world something to talk about .”
A myth more likely..
I believe that comes from one source and it’s not Beethoven or Mozart. More than likely a fantasy
Beethoven and Mozart may have met. There is no contemporary evidence to confirm that it actually happened.
Informative, humorous, and your words are easy to understand even for a non-native English speaker like me. I'm a new subscrybler!
This was amazing, to my surprise; very fun to watch.

I love how you sometimes put Ludwig von Koopa on screen since he's my favorite Super Mario character and favorite video game character of all time!
Your brief history videos have been helping me so much with my studying for the RCM Level 9 History exam. I love all your videos so much!
Thank you for that little video. I'm very lazy about searching for histories of musicians, I enjoyed the compact version. :) He's one of my favs too.

I wish I was a music history teacher, that would be awesome! I just teach regular piano lessons, but maybe one day. :)

The effects had me laughing so much in this. Especially the 1 ups lol
Imagine being able to write something like the 9th without ever hearing it. He must have understood music at a whole different level.
Haydn's bd party, I remember a story that said he had collapsed. Beethoven's physical contact being not just affection, but also concern for Haydn, and probably fear he would die.
Great way to tell a history!!!

Isn't Beethoven considered a Romanticist or Romantic composer, once he broke free of Hayden's influence? After his 2nd Symphony?
more like pre-romantic
Ok, so that image of Beethoven going super-saiyan is now how I picture him, forever.
