AG is doing God’s work on that bass.
Bless you friend
Yup. Great playing and a Sweet Sweet tone.
Rutherford always talks about how his bass playing was "a bit busy". He's wrong. It's just terrific to listen to.
@@parzooman He had a decade long friendly competition with Squire and Entwistle by the time Duke came out
The best three note song ever. The geeks nailed it... nailed it again.
Oh yes, they did.
Fantastic. I especially liked hearing the ballsy bass - I still don't think Rutherford gets enough credit for his lines.
Aww come on, play the rest of Duke!
You guys kick ass yet again! And now I can get down some of those pesky opening chords...
And.... Foxtrot from Genesis! Suppers Ready is a masterpiece.
Dukes Travels/Dukes End
Richie, You absolutely nailed Mike and Tony's tones on that.
It's always so much fun watching a group of musicians who not only really dig the music, but dig way down into the parts and care enough to do it right. I do love me some Band Geek video.
Those keyboard parts are a bit off in the intro riff that repeats, took me a long time to be able to understand them. Other than that loved it.
This was awesome! There's not enough early Collins' Genesis covers on RUclips. This is a great song to cover too. Sounds bloody fantastic!
Nice mixing job. All the instruments are clean and crisp and yet leave room for each other. I loved the arrangement.
I could see Rob's left hand leaving room for Graziano's bass runs in the intro - just like Mike Rutherford did with Taurus bass pedals and his bass guitar. That's some tight playing!
Beautiful
Totally mind blown. My dad was a drummer, it was at the age of 10 on hearing this very track (and the rest of the album) I decided I was going to be a drummer. Have since attended drumtech, toured the UK across universities, played outdoor festivals and countless tiny pub gigs (even a couple stand ins in the US, including the Fillmore San Francisco ). But I have NEVER played the song that started it all off for me. Thanks, this one means a lot to me, beautifully done...
The Guitar guy smashed it , The Keyboard sound was very good , job well done guys.
Get Rob a Suntech guitar!
Yes! You're back! Yes! Sounding great as always! And Yes! How about covering another YES tune? Would love to hear Band Geeks do a version, of the YES version, of Simon & Garfunkel's America.
I fully concur - the Yes version of America would be monumental !!!!
I am a huge Genesis fan, and this is the best cover I have ever heard of this Genesis classic. I saw you (Richie Castellano) play with BOC not long before this in New Lenox last year, I was the guy in front telling everyone how great BOC was live and then when we found out Buck was not there, and that Joan Jetts sound crew was being stingy with your sound since you were backing her up, and she is not that great live, I was sorta disappointed, but you guys pulled it off with grace and style and everyone was happy. Rock on Band Geeks!!!
Love this song, the whole Duke album actually!!!! Thanks for a great job rendering this challenging piece.
This is so much fun! Rob and Richie are superb as they carry the weight of vocal, guitar, and keys! I was really taken by the tremendous bass from Andy G. that worked so very well with Andy A. drums to drive the rhythm beautifully but leave glorious space for the keys, guitar and vocals to soar and take us on the ride!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎸🎸🥁🎹🎼🎶💪🏻😎
Would love to hear the full Behind the Lines/Duchess/Guide Vocal medley if y’all ever decide to revisit this!
WOW, great voice. You really captchured Phil's oscellations.
My FAVORITE Genesis album! Thanks for giving this great track it's due!
I absolutely LOVE this song!
I really enjoyed that! Everyone sounds great, especially that growling bass. Thanks to all!
I bloody love this song. Phils drumming is great on this. You are all awesome. Great cover
Never heard of you, saw this posted on /r/Genesis - am very impressed!
nice, they're making the rounds on reddit
Andy, your tone is monstrous! Love it! Amazing playing, brother, that's a helluva bassline...slayed it.
Thanks Amir - Richie's awesome bass is to thank for that!
@@AndyGrazianoNYC , tone is in the hands! You could make a $90 P-Bass copy sound like thunder! OK, that MM has a slight effect, maybe. But still...
@@AmirFazadh very true - in fact, if you check out some of my recent videos, you can see me doing just that with a squier p-bass. (I lost my good spector bass in hurricane sandy, and am currently refurbishing my Rick 4001)
@@AndyGrazianoNYC I love showing up to a gig with my $15 Rogue Jazz (pawn shop find!!) and laying down a deep groove. Sorry about Sandy taking your Spector, that hurts. There will be another that will come along... Always happens.
Yay, Geeks r BAAAACK! Awesome sound mixing too!
They really dialed in the tasty accurate studio drum sounds for that kit
Richie - Another GREAT rendition of a Genesis tune I recall well , Thank you . More PROG. Some King Crimson , Gentle Giant or ELP next ?
You're back!! Thank heavens!
You guys have done it again, made me tear up. This was my 1st CD back in '86 as I was starting to replace my LP collection and had a rubbish cheap CD player plus my expensive heads which had developed a crackly L channel.
Beautiful, guys, beautiful. Dance on a Volcano, perhaps? Thanks you for your work...
Simply jaw dropping....😎🤘
ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS!!!
Such a talented group. Thanks for sharing your talents with us. Love the bass run at 1:32 :)
Awesome job on that song. I'd love to hear more from Genesis.
awesome!! Phil inhabits Tony's body and Mike splits kn two! In-credible! Love Mike Rutherford! Love you Geeks!
Aw man, my favorite Genesis album. More from Duke!
That sounded AMAZING!!!!
amazing rendering, as usual, by Band Geeks, but Graziano ..... you killed it. amazing.
Wow...I'm impressed by the drummer knocking it out on such a small kit 😮
Impatiently waiting for Duke's Travels/Duke's End. You guys rock my socks off!!
I am impressed. Can you play "Hand in Hand" by Phil Collins ? No one show this cover in Internet.
WOW -- Really -- That was Freaking awesome !! Great job you Guys 👏👏
Glad you're back!
also wtf is that bass line?? Consider my jaw dropped
Superb performance from everyone. Loved the bass tone (and playing).
Thanks!
As a big fan of Genesis I can say you did it ! Not so easy !!
Gents. I think it's time for Supper's Ready. Don't you?
Richie your covers are unbelievable.
Man, this put a big smile on my face :P
This is absolutely inspired and inspiring! ❤🥁🎶🎸
Thanks!
This band is really an explosion of overwhelming musicality!
One of my favorite genesis songs. You guys killed it🤘🤘🤘🤘
Just LOVE that bass-line.....
God, I saw Genesis tour for Duke at MSG. Brings me back. What a time. You brought me back. Again.
nice, Nice, NICE!!! Another awesome cover, guys...great playing, singing, arrangement, mixing, etc. Thanks!
Awesome! Big sound from only 4 people. Very nice.
Oh my god .close your eyes its Genesis . Fantastic
Oh man! That’s a really challenging song, but you guys nailed it! So glad you guys are back! Richie, did you reno the studio? Looks great! Huge fan in Canada! 🇨🇦
Fantastic.
a very unique track, each instrument exibiting qualities specific to it, notably the percussion, i grew up in the era, though some would argue i never grew up. genesis, frampton, thin lizzy, rainbow, joe walsh, pink floyd etc
You guys have to do the rest of Duke! This is awesome!
I wish I could replace the set-list on my phone with a mini version of Band Geek... something the size of a zippo lighter that I could put on a desk and watch/listen to playing all these great songs. I’d be happy with that.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
The boys are back!
Finally. 😎🎸
Are those tom sounds available anywhere? Spot on.
Nice PHILN' Andrew!!! ...cheers from Danno!
Another fantastic tune by the Geeks. Thanks guys.
What a talented bunch... always a treat to see each new video... singer was spot on.
No doubt that Band Geeks are truly awesome and their variety of guests always rock BUT today I did notice that the guest had shirt that was missing Coney Island! Haha! We don't take our colors off for no one! Rock on!
That transition at 2:37 was seamless. Top work. Superb cover of a superb tune. Keep it up lads.
Great drum playing! Awesome job!
Please please tell us your bass signal path. Your tone (and playing obviously) has me over the moon !
I plug in direct with a basic tone, and Richie can fine tune it later. I believe it's through the Helix
Great cover, wow.
Killer cover!
Excellent
Hi!! Great performance. It would be great to see “ turn it on again “
Excellent can you play some shows in New Jersey please
From a UK Genesis fan this was dam brilliant
I've been waiting and waiting... BAM!!!!!!! The opening track from one of my favorite Genesis albums! THANK YOU!
Outstanding! 👍
Loved that! ..Coming from an old school 70's bass player that loves Genesis!
Stupendous! Great memories of this album...great cover gents!
Like you never left me to begin with...lol. Great to have the BGs back and sounding as good as ever.
Congrats! good job!
I like how you guys human beatboxed part of the transition to Duchess. LOL!
That's me fucking around lol, glad you liked it!
I've been trying to figure out that guitar...
Argh nowhere online.
Good job mates!
Cracking cover!! Love the bass fill at 1:32 !!
Oh heck yes!
Now can you fit 3 horns in there and do Phil's version too?
I love both BOC and Genesis.. here the two worlds collide 😁, very well done
Great stuff - don't forget 'Twilight Alehouse' by Genesis is one of their rockiest numbers if you could cover it Rob!!! atb snack.
Wow! Fantastic! Well done and thank you!
오랜만에 영상올라왔네요..반갑구 자주 올려주세요^^
Again another superb Genesis cover. This was the song that first got me into Genesis, love it 😍
Great to hear from you guys again
More GENESIS with Rob!! One for the vine!!
I had to listen to this again. Soooo great! Everything was fabo...singing was dead on pitch and sounded like Phil. I'd only like to see you add Ann Marie for backup to hit those high notes. Andy you certainly get a lot of huge sound out of that small kit!! Awesome!!
A bit to high to sound like Phil.
Sounded like Phil? You must be deaf lad !!!!
Could you do BOC “Burnin For You?
This is a Dream Band! ..... Besides talent You guys have a Great Chemistry. I’m envious of the fun you guys seem to have jamming.
WOW! GREAT JOB, Band Geeks!
Dead on. The grove is so addictive. Love the prog rock stuff and Rob Kipp is my favorite quest by far. So tight together!
The rest is really, really good, though.
Great job, singing while playing the piano!
Fantastic bass, and the drums shouldn't be allowed to sound that amazing with such a small set!!
Absolutely superb ..
I really liked it. Thanks Dudes!!
Man I wish I could play like a GEEK.
Fantastic!
