I’m guessing from this he has had many misfortunes happen to people in his life and the strings are the guilt and that’s why some people are yelling at him, practically blaming him. And the girl is someone who manipulated him before and is the only one who didn’t get killed or hurt because the guy practically despises her, therefore nothing bad happens to her. The guy finds this abnormal (get it) as a person who has done nothing wrong, has a horrible life, and a terrible person, gets everything they desire. He starts going crazy thinking that this is his purpose in life, he believes that he is a puppet, with a master that has his every move. I’m assuming that the puppet master is the girl.
