Garden Girl Such a PURE soul! I just hope she doesn’t change that. And I kind of know it won’t happen, bc she has solid values, and seems to have a great family. We need to understand, it ALL starts with THE FAMILY, our kids don’t need THINGS, they need LOVE.
this girl speaks the way that she sings and writes her songs - from her heart and soul. it's hard to believe she is still a child. Hats off to her parents, who must be amazing people.
From what I've seen she says she has a very strong, confident, successful father, and and an amazing mother who treats Grace like her favorite person in the world and a sister who would do anything for her. So she can just explore her feelings and not have anything to worry about.
Got me in tears when she said she didn't deserve the award but her parents and everyone else who worked with her did. What a pure and grateful soul. I am a fan now not only because of her musical talent but her character and personality.

Totally agree! I'm 40 now and i rarely heard any award speech (if ever) as intelligent, eloquent and deep like that! Not talking about that this came off a 13 year old. Very special to say at least.
There seem to be quite a few old souls that pop up in the music industry every several years- Jackie Evancho, Grace Vanderwaal, and now- Angelina Jordan, who will likely eclipse both of her predecessors in short order. Her Million Miles single is absolutely incredible and heart wrenching.
I love that Grace doesn't use super heavy makeup, wigs, or crazy outfits, she doesn't use crazy effects or filters in her songs, it's just beautiful music, just her voice singing inspiring songs. She is DEFINITELY the best artist (in my opinion)
@Kennedy Logan Morgan I agree, and yes, lol, I get it (But I think it's spelled graceful not to be that annoying grammar correcting person because I don't have perfect grammar, but yeah lol)
@@matildalansdowne4950 She is in a category of her own yes. I would say she is in the top 1% of singers who can actually sing live. All the others top performers don't sing live because they cant or use so much autotuned that deep down it's not there own voice.
I'm always amazed at how she can take a song that normally has drums backup vocals and all that, and kill it on an empty stage with just a ukulele and her voice.
And received a standing ovation from an astonished and appreciative crowd of the biggest stars in the industry! Then had them wiping away tears with a remarkably moving and unforgettable acceptance speech. Not bad for a 13 year old!!

I think Kelly Clarkson was crying because she knows exactly how hard that "1st year" is after you've won a reality tv talent competition and all is not smooth sailing but a series of hard bumps and bruises of people trying to cut you up. Grace spoke so eloquently and you can see in her eyes the joy and also deep pain of this "1st year" and the gratefulness to the people who have helped her along the journey thus far. I hope she never listens to the negative, only allow the positive to keep driving her throughout this amazing journey in the path she is on now. Kids stars don't always have "happy lives"...I hope in the end she can say it was all worth it. Hoping for a great life and career for this kid! :)

It's not the first time a little girl has made this grown man tear up, but it has been a while. Probably the most genuine new entertainer of the past 20 years. Grace will change lives, unknowingly, but in certain.
The purest form of humanity I have seen in a very long time. Your parents raised you right. It is not just your music, your spirit is a gift. Be Blessed.
Which if you break it down, was probably not a speech, but more just opening her heart to everyone. The humility in her words were pretty moving. Just found out about her today, since I don't watch AGT. The more I see, the more of a fan I'm becoming. Hard to believe what all she can do already.
James Catchot welcome to the family. We are going watch this , soon to be legend, go from a funny skinny quirky little girl to becoming a force of undescribable beauty and grace. Her story will surely be made into a movie someday. I just hope it has a happy ending. I think Grace does have the right skills to handle all these drastic changes in her developing life. But she really seems to be way to young to understand what's happening to her. Soon(probably already) she will not be able to be in public without being surrounded by body-guards. Everyone she meets will already know practically everything there is to know about her. She continues to impress me every time I see something new from her, wether it be a new song, a speech, performance etc whatever it is. If Grace created it or spoke it, etc it will be impressive. How could so many talents be contained in her tiny little body. I am amazed by her constantly.
I know I'm nearly (not quite) 4 times Grace's age and I'm a guy, but I too find her such an inspiration! Such a GREAT roll-model for her younger fans to look up to as well as us, her older fans. I really like and admire how she hasn't let the industry mold her into the common bubblegum pop-star (that rebels and breaks out to be trouble later in life) but strives very stubbornly to stick to her own humble style, with lyrics that make us think and feel how much has gone into dreaming them up! There are days where I shuffle all her songs on repeat all day long without any guilt because there are no negative suggestions, but just good up-lifting music to sing along with, and that's such a great change compared to what all is out there. Yes, I believe she deserved this award and she can take her career just as far as she wants to go! She is one confident self-made young lady!
Scott Samber I understand why you needed to explain yourself because young people think wrong with everything. Anyway it is inspiring to young and older people. I am 13 and it is inspiring, ever since I watched her AGT video I started writing my own songs. So any way your reading your eyes out so I will stop. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee👋
I just listed these girls. They have nothing on Grace. She can emote more than anyone I’ve ever heard. I don’t know what your listening to. But she blows me away with her singing. That rasp is everything. Grace has fans worldwide. All the top people are looking at her not these other girls. So your expertise means nothing. It’s like saying coke cola is better than Pepsi. Everyone has their own taste. Now if your saying that you better, I call B. S.

@@waynerethmel6900 You really put in the trolling work 2 days ago leaving all these negative remarks. Grace more popular than your favorite artist or something? Talk about being petty 🤣
As much as her talent is through the roof, I just have to admire how humble she is. Not rating herself, not accepting an award on her own behalf. She wrote her music BUT she truly shows who is behind her when she says it's for everyone but herself.Grace, U do deserve that award. Your talent and your personality will shine brightest.
That was one of if not the best acceptance speeches I have ever heard! This young woman is named so appropriately! Such Grace and maturity for being so young. I am a fan for life. It may just be me, but she reminds me of a young Joni Mitchell. God Bless you, Grace and may He protect you.
This girl is special, she has the wisdom of a much older and more experienced person! Her speech was profound and deeply thoughtful! And she knows it’s not hers but she has been allowed to use it for a purpose! She and her music are gifts from TheFather almighty and to be shared for his glory!!And better yet she already recognizesit
Grace often talks about how nervous she is before she goes out on stage. But to get up in that room with just her voice, her ukelele and her words and to sing in front of them with no backup band to protect her. Well there is only one word for that. Fearless. Wow.
She is such a happy little soul but when she sings there is so much emotion, tinged with a little sadness in her voice. Amazing for such a young lady. I hope she never changes her style. Such a great little performer.
All I can say is that she’s beautiful from the outside and more beautiful from the inside. She has such a lovely soul. I hope that girl in the future will grow up and still be the same grace as now. God really had blessed her with a gorgeous voice and a beautiful mind.
Wow, she is more and more incredible. I like his taste for old movies, the 30 s. I like her choice of clothes, her hairstyle, the style she chose to receive her award. Her dress is beautiful and goes well with her eyes. I like his inventiveness, his intelligence. Tonight the profession has seen that she is not only a girl of 13 years but also and especially an exceptional woman ! What inspiration for so many young people ... what only young ? Thank you Mlle Grace !
You are beyond your years. It is like you are an adult in a small person's body. You speak with such wisdom as you do with your lyrics. Don't ever let Columbia change your voice or smooth it out. Your voice is unique with its raspy quality. Beautiful. People will not forget you. Don't lose your wonderful personality.'
Incredible- a little girl with no band or backing track or dancers or showmanship- just her sitting and singing and holding millions in the palm of her hand with her incredible talent. So beautiful, graceful, eloquent and humble- wish young girls would look to a role model like her rather than those who make their mark on the music industry shaking their arses onstage.
I HOPE she uses that! That would make a GREAT motivational song. Remember those who help you along your life's journey. What an anthem that could make!
Dear US Americans! This girl is awesome! Whoever dislikes them has no idea of good music. Be proud that you have such good young singers. I love her; their style and their music! Sorry for the google translation.

Just when I think this young woman can't earn her name anymore, she takes it to the next level. That acceptance speech was among the best I've ever seen for any award, ever.
At the age of (almost!) 71yrs I must presume to be one of your most senior admirers. Your wonderful creative abilities in your music are so special--I would like to add my admiration to the rest of your admirers here. In addition, you have IMO a truly beautiful physical appearance and I would love to see you become a successful model for a great brand. Just keep going the way you are and all the best wishes for your continuing success! With all love.
Let alone that killer performance, but that speech, so well spoken and filled with genuine emotion. She was only 13 there, a kid but with such maturity.
You know, I just cried like a baby. I watched her from the first performance on America’s got talent, and see how far she’s come, it’s incredible. She just keeps maturing, and she doesn’t use any gimmicks to do so. She is still as pure as the day she performed first, I am proud proud fan. I still listen to all her new songs, and they’re still all stuck in my head. She deserves that award more than anyone else. If there was an angel on this earth, her name would be Grace Vanderwaal.
What an acceptance speech! Everyone is moved by this young lady with so much poise, and the Oxford dictionary definition for poise, is GRACE. She touches everyone and her name shines through her soul. GRACE.

Scott Samber im 44 shes a role model for 0-100 😂
I just listed these girls. S.
I'm 71 years and i liked her first original song and so happy to see is getting the recognition she deserves. Beautiful little lady.
Grace grace grace..what a matured , humble and effective speech. .love you always from singapore
She has an awsome vocals

Grace : The Voice !
I have to make one more comment......."That is the most beautiful reward speech I have ever heard!
She'll sweep the Grammy's or else I'll eat my fedora... FINALLY a singer worth following again. She's terrific!
Worth following again...
Powerful sentence, very true my friend, VERY TRUE!!!! ❤
Billie eilish is more popular than Grace Vanderwaal. Unbelievable 🙄
birdieroad not for long tho, you can bet on that!
start eating she will never sweep the grammys
@@waynerethmel6900 You really put in the trolling work 2 days ago leaving all these negative remarks. Grace more popular than your favorite artist or something? Talk about being petty 🤣
As much as her talent is through the roof, I just have to admire how humble she is. Not rating herself, not accepting an award on her own behalf. She wrote her music BUT she truly shows who is behind her when she says it's for everyone but herself.Grace, U do deserve that award. Your talent and your personality will shine brightest.
Pure class. Unadorned perfect Grace. Amen.
bye 49
Omg, she is not only a good singer but also a very good speaker 😇😇
That she is.. and model and actor and a few other things:)
@@rosswinslow4595 I love and adore her. Despite the fame and wealth she is still her. She never change. She is a natural being 👍
That was one of if not the best acceptance speeches I have ever heard! This young woman is named so appropriately! Such Grace and maturity for being so young. I am a fan for life. It may just be me, but she reminds me of a young Joni Mitchell. God Bless you, Grace and may He protect you.
When it comes to live performances and speaking in public they're opposites
Ikr
This girl is special, she has the wisdom of a much older and more experienced person! Her speech was profound and deeply thoughtful! And she knows it’s not hers but she has been allowed to use it for a purpose! She and her music are gifts from TheFather almighty and to be shared for his glory!!And better yet she already recognizesit

Im ur 200th like :3
Ur welcome
Grace often talks about how nervous she is before she goes out on stage. But to get up in that room with just her voice, her ukelele and her words and to sing in front of them with no backup band to protect her. Well there is only one word for that. Fearless. Wow.
robert...that is quite amazing about her isn't it.
She is such a happy little soul but when she sings there is so much emotion, tinged with a little sadness in her voice. Amazing for such a young lady. I hope she never changes her style. Such a great little performer.
That's one of the most sincere speeches, such a smart and graceful young lady.
She is authentic...speaks from the heart...what a talented girl and amazing person...
probably the best speech I have heard in my life
She is so grounded and natural. I see her keeping it together.
Can we please acknowledge the fact that she brought Kelly Clarkson to tears? Like wow. She is so amazing
Lol not a dry eye there or here for that matter
Ed Sheeran ducked under the table to hide his crying
What? When? I want to watch that
Just 13.. I cant belive a kid can perform and gives speech like this.. Felt goosebumps all over my body
Something about her speech echoes into our souls. What a wonderful person.
Incredible- a little girl with no band or backing track or dancers or showmanship- just her sitting and singing and holding millions in the palm of her hand with her incredible talent. So beautiful, graceful, eloquent and humble- wish young girls would look to a role model like her rather than those who make their mark on the music industry shaking their arses onstage.
birdwithabrokenwing 100% spot on
Birdwith, wonder if Mary J Blige was sitting there thinking " I wonder if I could do that"
Sounded like some potential song lyric's in that speech, you nailed it Grace!
I HOPE she uses that! That would make a GREAT motivational song. Remember those who help you along your life's journey. What an anthem that could make!
What I love most about, Grace, she doesn't need a band or orchestra. Just a microphone and her ukulele! Finest music!
At 13 Grace may have come into this awards show on the undercard but after her performance, she stole the show.
She has a tendency to do that
Dear US Americans!
This girl is awesome! Whoever dislikes them has no idea of good music.
Be proud that you have such good young singers.
I love her; their style and their music!
Sorry for the google translation.
WHAT A BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE NO BACKGROUND RECORDING . JUST GRACE AND HER JUKE AND PURE AMAZINGLY ENTERTAINING TALENT. CONGRATULATIONS GRACE .PS YOU DO DESERVE THIS AWARD LIKE NOBODY I CAN THINK OF
Just when I think this young woman can't earn her name anymore, she takes it to the next level.
That acceptance speech was among the best I've ever seen for any award, ever.
Agreed!
her performance gave me chills. how is she not famous
I am ahead of you sonny... I am almost 72.... lol
We need more people like Grace in this world ❤❤❤
This is hands down the greatest acceptance speech I've ever heard. I'm crying.
Let alone that killer performance, but that speech, so well spoken and filled with genuine emotion. She was only 13 there, a kid but with such maturity.
most beautiful acceptance speech in my life. me and everyone in that room are feeling it !
I've always supported her. so proud of how far she's come
Did you enjoy letters vol I
Grace started writing and singing to touch people; no matter where she goes from here she is a success.
Dammit. I STILL got tears. I must have watched this ten times already, but I'm still crying. She's so awesome!

Moonlight is a winner! Grace is a winner! Pure talent!
This girl really lives up to her name. So humble.
Wsqirur
If there was ever a person to live up to her name it is Grace she is always so graceful
She is so simplistic and humble! A REAL artist!!
She's acting her age I hope they don't change that she's perfect the way she is
So humble, so honest, so sincere, speaking out of the depth of her heart!!!
Wow!!! Isn't she simply amazing???
What a speech from a 13 year old child.......had me in tears........God Bless you and your family.
wow.... amazing and emotional song.... plus the tear dropping speech...
What an acceptance speech! Everyone is moved by this young lady with so much poise, and the Oxford dictionary definition for poise, is GRACE. She touches everyone and her name shines through her soul. GRACE.
Im a grown man and it brought me to tears hearing her and im happy for her success she writes about things people take for granted and i love it things we think but dont say
Well I have seen several live performances of this song and of course the recorded version but - O.M.G. Grace NAILED IT this night, and it front of so many recording stars and music industry folks. Champions always rise to the big occasion and she is it!
Grace, you are an angel.
She not only a tremendous singer, but also appears to me to be a humble person. Wow I’m in awe of this young person.
Grace please! I really didn’t plan to cry today . You’re such a beautiful soul
Grace Vanderwaal is truly an inspiring and very talented singersong writer. On top of that, she s very grateful, humble, funny and cares about her fellow human beings. That all with a positive attitude. I m not surprised that she makes me cry.
She truly honours her name!
This is probably one of very few RUclips videos I haven’t skipped one bit of
Grace Vanderwaal Is one in a lifetime. I cannot wait to watch and hear her grow and create more if her music. Such a gorgeous soul. She's going to be number one for many years to come. Grace is iconic already at such a young age.
There are a thousand perhaps, but she's the one who has the courage to share their talent, or given the opportunity.
Standard Equestrian ]
What a beautiful, classy young woman! Can’t wait to see you continue to grow!
