I was the one that showed up around 10:30 and was only a few rows behind you! It was such a joy running into both of you - I watch all your videos and it was so fun to meet you in person. Such a wonderful surprise, especially at our first real con! Another tip I’ll add - if you don’t manage to snag a reservation for a game you really want, most publishers have a cut off time for the reserved games (2-3pm), and they’ll release the games that weren’t picked up. I managed to grab a copy of Resolve this way (thanks for the sneak peek of your haul). Hope you had a great rest of your holiday! We had a fantastic time.
Very helpful tips. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go, but if I did, these are the things I’d want to know! Thanks for helping us learn through your “lessons” 😂
I hope you do get to go sometime! Actually - even better - I hope we all end up at the same con at the same time one day!! Location is secondary ;) Hope you've been well & thanks for watching ❤️
Hey, that’s me at 4:29! My first time, was great. Makes me wish I knew Japanese since soooo many of those games will never export, but are very language dependent.
Long time since I've seen you guys in real life, but it is always a great pleasure watching your videos! And I've not gotten to Japan yet, but it is on my bucket list, and this was a wonderful video to watch...thanks again guys, and keep up the good work.
I was just here for the Tokyo Auto Salon last week and wow... Makuhari Messe is huge! Really cool to get out of Tokyo, though. I ended up picking up a few games from Yellow Submarine and looking forward to trying them with friends.
@ThinkerThemer I didn't even know it was going on. I was at the Nismo gallery and people were telling me about it, and I pivoted on my original plans and went. Tickets were only 3000 yen. 10 halls of everything automotive. Way fun!
It was so great to meet you guys at TGM!!! Such a useful list of tips! I had a digital map, marked with blue dots for reservations and red for no res, with a corresponding Google spreadsheet that we marked as we hit each booth (with a still that said my name with “I have a reservation” in Japanese always ready on my phone). The early entry was SUPER helpful for snagging all the games without a reservation because there were less people through which to navigate! As for food, I totally had a 7-11 onigiri in my bag in preparation, which was also helpful for my friend, who doesn’t eat red meat! 😆 Also, even with my Nano bags, we were weighed down with so much gameage! And we got scolded for trying to readjust all of it on the side! Such a great time! Definitely want to go back some day!!!
It sounds like you did everything right!!!! I think we thought we'd wing it a bit more because we'd been before but then we remembered why we usually plan 😂 hope you had the best time!
Thanks for the tips! I'm getting ready to go to PAX Unplugged this week and I'm feeling woefully under-prepared, so I appreciate the general con-prep reminders. :)
Great tips, but have to say I was a little shocked as you girls are ALWAYS so prepared and planned out! My big takeaways...No Smashburger or JoeFam haulers (Don/Nick) on this trip!
I know we have been such a mess this year trying to keep up with work and content! But also lots of fun visitors 😊 counting down the days to seeing you all again!
My son will be studying abroad in Japan this January and I’d like him to bring me back a couple games (including Nana). Any suggestions you have would be fantastic!

@@ThinkerThemer I know! I would have thought our paths would have crossed by now. The fault is mine, I haven't been travelling as much. Maybe in 2025!
Same! I do like the thought that without planning to maybe one day we'll just turn a corner around a booth and there you will be!!! Come on 2025 🤞
Great tips! We’re glad those mishaps didn’t spoil your fun. Thanks for the great video ☺️
Hard to spoil a trip to Tokyo! Thanks for watching ☺️

Was looking forward to your video! #teamSouthernHemisphere

Your most informative (and entertaining) episode so far. I was in fits of laughter. Keep up the great work, you’ve inspired me to want to go one year.

I (Amy here) would LOVE to go to Tokyo Auto Salon!!!! Very jealous!

@kevinbui4059 oooooo i really have to get there one day. I love Kei cars 🚗 😍
@@ThinkerThemer There were definitely a ton of Kei cars and everything else. I am embarrassed how much swag I bought, too.
Such great knowledge! Thank you for sharing. This is a bucket list visit for us.
I hope you get there one day! It's very unique and even if you make every mistake like us it's still a fantastic experience. Thanks for watching!

Haha you're right that many of these apply to all cons! Have a wonderful time at PAX-U, it's a bucket list con for us!
I hoping to go at some point in my life!! So good to know this before hand, thank you!

@@ThinkerThemer What a great year with all your visitors! How exciting!!
I missed out by a few days this year, but I did see the Game Market catalogue in Yellow Submarine shops in Hiroshima and Osaka.
Are you guys going to PlayCon 2025?
We are hoping to yes! We had a great time this year!
Do you store your "played" games in a different area then your "not-played-yet" items? I too, love artwork and am drawn to colorful designs.
Does different piles on the floor count? 😂😂😂 We have a bit of a storage issue at the moment but usually yes we keep them separate!
hey quick q, why do you have 2 watches?
Maggie wears an apple watch and a whoop (which is a more specific fitness tracker) - is that what you mean?
@ThinkerThemer yes I thought it was a second smart watch!
