"Dead" Vermont Thunderstorm Regenerates Overhead

  • A severe-warned, rotating thunderstorm south of Plattsburgh, NY on May 14, 2024 collapsed into nothing as it encountered the stable air above still-cold Lake Champlain. As the storm reached St. Albans, Vermont after crossing the lake, it began to regenerate overhead. Dark clouds, a sudden shower, a couple pea sized hail stones and signs of rotation again even though the storm was far from severe.
