For the second July 11 in a row, Vermonters were picking up the pieces after a devastating flood. These are scenes around the towns of Richmond, Hinesburg and Huntington on the morning after the nighttime flash flood that killed two people in the state.
Dramatic Clouds Mark Storms At Beginning Of Vermont Flood

The first couple of thunderstorms to roll into Vermont on July 10, 2024 had some pretty dramatic clouds. Cloud motion is especially interesting around 1:10-1:20 into video. We were under a tornado watch at the time. A couple of very fast lightning bolt captures, too. Storms continued well into the night, resulting in lots of flash flooding, results of which will be in video to be uploaded soon.

Amid Florida-like summer humidity, tropical showers and storms bloomed in Vermont in the afternoon and evening of July 6, 2024. First storm in video viewed from Colchester, sharp line between sunshine and downpours. Second storm viewed over Lake Champlain from South Hero. Looks a bit like Midwest supercell, but storm was small, not severe but very picturesque

I went cloudspotting - as I like to call - once again on June 30, 2024. I encountered some dramatic, picturesque storms near Highgate and Franklin, Vermont; scud pretending to be a wall cloud (it clearly wasn't); some blue sky showers and big puffy scenic clouds. Enjoy!

Gusty winds blew through Vermont's Champlain Valley, gusting to more than 40 mph and causing some minor tree damage. Toward sunset, the sky and atmosphere took an otherworldly tone. Trees seemed yellowish, the sky was an odd pink. Some of the clouds raced by, while some seemed to stand nearly still, as you can see in the video.

As you can see in the radar view in the beginning, three teeny, tiny downpours developed in northwest Vermont on June 26, 2024. The southernmost of them went over my house in St. Albans, Vermont. It obviously fell well short of severe, but it did pack a moment of storminess in its very small package.

Strong to severe thunderstorms roamed Vermont on June 20, 2024 to end a record heat wave. Video shows a quick initial storm, followed by the dramatic clouds of a larger severe-warned storm. After that we see more drama clouds and thunderstorms in the evening before the sun finally reappeared.

Temperatures around 90 and tropical dew points in the 70s in Vermont on June 19, 2024 made it easy for sudden storms to pop up, just like Florida in the summer. Main storm in video went from small cloud you see in beginning to tropical downpour in 25 minutes. 15 minutes after this storm passed St. Albans, it was producing 60 mph gusts in nearby Enosburg. End of video is more pop up storms.

Upper level low pressure near New England made air unstable enough for plenty of showers and thunderstorms in northern Vermont on June 9. None of the storms were severe, but I was treated to a non-dangerous "cold air funnel" forming over my St. Albans home. Video is scenes from the storms, including that little spin in the sky.

We had a week of delightful weather in Vermont with blue skies and warm temperatures to end May and open June, but by June 5, we really needed the rain. Ma Nature delivered with teaser showers and storms on June 5, then you see a real soaker on the evening of June 6 in St. Albans, followed by billowing showers and storms June 7 to give everything a good drink of water.

Not seen a town centre like this before. More like Europd than America. Shops, usual in malls, not on roads. Street rather wide so would be inconvenient to cross to visit different shops.

Ahhhh this stupid little rain storm. I was stepping a mast on a small sailboat when this thing went through North Hero. Got soaked in a few seconds.

When it snows like this, is there someone you can pay to plow your driveway?
my honest estimate AS A SOUTH FLORIDIAN WHO HAS DEALT WITH GUSTS OF UP TO 160 MPH (very experienced), 50 mph. This is above 40 but not quite 60, i think this is 50 mph in this video. Dont get me wrong, it could have been stronger off camera, but i think the video shows maximum wind gusts of 50 mph through those big ass pine trees. Maybe 60.

RUclips makes current videos like this one hard to find and promotes videos from 5+ years ago instead. Hey YT ^^. When I search 'gravity waves' I want the most current content listed first I.e any videos uploaded today, sorted by popularity, then any videos uploaded this week, sorted by popularity, then any videos uploaded this month, etc. Current videos and events should take precedence and we shouldn't have to jump through filter hoops just to sort things in mostly chronological order :) For instance this video is almost two weeks old and it has only one like, mine - why? Because you cannot even find this video without doing date filter. Old news takes precedence over new - which makes literally no sense ^^. Thx Matt for posting this - just this morning we had massive gravity waves over Tacoma, WA.
