  • When the legendary console was finally killed by Atari, its legacy continued on with these clones with built-in games up until 90's. They are marketed under many different names, but the manufacturers and the built-in games were pretty much the same as far as I can tell. This particular model is PAL-B/G. Feel free to comment anything: corrections, questions, or just your memory of Atari 2600. Sorry for the crappy quality as I don't have a capture card, plus RF-AV adapter is degrading the already bad RF quality. *EDIT* I am a slow speaker so the video was too long. I sped it up by factor of 1.2 without realizing how it affects the gameplay shots. Do not be alarmed if a game looks too fast.

The Top Gun name was used in Germany, where the mail order brand Quelle released a lot of these cheap no-name games, often with hilarious German names and even more hilarious cover art. They sometimes used names in pop culture. They, for example, released Fast Eddie as „Mr. T“
Gopher for example was called „Die Ratte und die Karotten“ (The Rat and the Carrots), and Pac-Kong had a transformer on the cover.

Used to have a TV Boy Ii, 128 games in one, each game chosen from a start menu, just scroll each digit between 1-9, using the controller then select. One controller only, mounted on the unit, START, SELECT and return to select menu buttons only. No difficulty or color switches, no cartridge slot. Played it until it wore out, got many hours of fun out of it. Very similar game list to here. The colours on PAL machines will be different, due to the way the color was generated by the original hardware, in NTSC, the color is timed to be displayed, correctly at 60hz, PAL is in 50hz so all the colours displayed will not be the same. As you demonstrate, the unit you have is far better via the NTSC converter, a massive improvement.

Thank you for your insight! Also, a menu would be more useful on these old systems as well rather than cycling through every single one of them.

As an American we always get short end of the stick when it comes to gaming such as systems like the Atari 7800 we didn't get a built-in game 😞 well thanks for the video 👍

    New Sub! Detroit, Michigan, US
Really Cool! I wouldn't mind find a system like this in Bland Clone Box.
Clone Market wasn't as crazy in the US back in the day due to Atari being US

Welcome! Yes, these systems were more common in Asia, South America, Middle East, and Eastern Europe. US consumers already moved on to NES and better systems by the time these were out. And you are right, Atari would not let these systems to be sold in the US anyway. :)

Oh yes, I did. It reads AU-99160 which I could not find anywhere. I saw some ebay listings that sell Atari clone boards that start with AU. I wonder if these were Australian clones. Anyway, I ordered a CleanComp A/V mod board from RetroSix, which will be one of the future videos.
