When I would get overwhelmed it was due to looking at a huge list of things to do. I had to learn to break it down into bite-sized tasks. Some tasks could be important but not as urgent. I had to refocus my list. Thanks for your helpful tips!
It's like you read my mind! I literally can't wait to use these tips! They will be total game changers! This video is definitely a must watch for all! :)
This is definitely a great start and thought process to get started. But one thing that I see people struggle with is the items themselves and the effort it may take to action them. Ie. if you have something that’s not Due TODAY, but it’s due in two days, if you dont think about the EFFORT taken to achieve that task, you may end up feeling stressed by the fact that you didnt give yourself enough time to deliver that item/task on time. So Step 2 of prioritisation should be to estimate the effort a task might take. This will also help you plan your day better and not take too much on if the items are too big. Also will help you break your big items down to smaller tasks.
Thank you, Nadalie. When you feel overwhelmed it's hard to wrap your head around which task to start with first. Taking the time to prioritize can definitely reduce stress levels :) Thanks for watching, cheers!
Needed to hear this. I made a list yesterday and have been so busy doing all sorts of Cs - realised that I'd ignored the A and B stuff on my list! Thank you for sharing this.
Hi. Thanks. I have a question though. A great deal of my work is dependant on others and I have several bosses (project managers). They routinely give me tasks that are urgent (read, last minute deadlines), then they all end up as As, so how do I ever get to the Bs, (let alone the Cs)?
That’s tough when you are working on so many different projects. I would see if there are others on your team that you can delegate some of the b and c tasks to. Thanks for watching, cheers!
So many great points here. It's all about priotization, the trick is to stick to your priorities and not give in to any distractions. Great tips about building lists. I do this too and then circle my priorities for the day :)
