    Hi! Can U explain, what should I do, if I need text with tapered sides? I often need to make some taper about 10-15 degree for the text - I make molds. So I have to make tapers, that molds could be easily divided from master model.

    How do you engrave only the outline only? The engrave functionality here could be done through an extrusion also

      Hi, yes you're right, the extrude tool can be used to do the same function, the engrave tool makes this easy by referencing a planar face instead of entering extrude/ extrude cut dimensions from a different plane (like in my example).
      Regarding engraving the outline only, one option you could do is to change the font and use a 'thin' font so that you are engraving thin letter wall thicknesses only. I suggest one of the 'Roboto' Fonts, these are thin walled.

      Hi Youssef, in the design tree on the right you need to right click on the feature and delete or make any according edits.

    Why does it have to be on an other plan ?

      Hi @Jenny, Actually it is possible to sketch directly onto the surface, however I choose not to do that as I want to give students another example of projection in a 3D environment. Once students can visualize in 3D environment they have a much better understanding of the 3D modelling tools ultimately making them more confident in exams. Have a nice weekend.🙂

    What can i do if my text is upside down

    • @AutodeskInventorTutorials
      @AutodeskInventorTutorials  2 года назад

      Hi Joshua, good question - one of my students had the same question. In the design tree, find the plane you are sketching the text on, right click and select 'Flip Normal'. Now your text will be flipped so as to read the correct way up. NOTE: You may need to input the text again if you already embossed it.

      @@AutodeskInventorTutorials one more thing you could do is use constraint on the box there with any edge and change the angle to get ur text in correct way
