There's so many conflicting reports on what the Giants offered to move up to 3, but more and more credible reporters are saying the Giants only offered 6 and next year's one. That's not equal value to move up for a franchise QB in my mind. That makes Schefters report/feeling that they were actually looking to move up to secure Joe Alt. Two ones is too low for a franchise QB, but for a potential perennial all pro franchise right tackle...that's closer in value to the number 6 overall pick and next year's 1.

Maye has never been under the type of pressure he's going to be under. Because UNC is a basketball school not a football school and the ACC is not the SEC. It's okay for UNC to lose 5 or 6 games in a year. No one expects much more from them. But when your team is at a football university where football is king and losing even 2 or 3 games is a huge problem then that comes with an entirely different pressure on you. Putting up big stats there but losing 3 games isn't good enough. Same is true for a place like New England. Mac Jones led his team to the playoffs and everything was hunky dory. But as soon as the team got worse and didn't make the playoffs they turned on him. It didn't matter to the fans his team lacked talent, he's still supposed to win without it. Maye is walking into that situation and as soon as he starts throwing as many interceptions as touchdowns and the team is still losing the fans will turn on him as well. #3 pick and you aren't saving us? What a waste.

This idea of sitting Maye is a joke - at least in New England. Mac was 15 in the draft and started as a rookie, so it is a no brainer that the expectation is that the 3rd pick in the draft will be starting for the Pats, especially given his only competition will be Brissette and possibly Zappe. I don't include Milton and I agree that Mayo and Wolf had their hands tied on the Maye selection. Think Milton could be the sleeper because he has Maye like skills, maybe better.
