Patterdales are incredible. I have two, both rescue dogs, both highly aggressive. Yet strangely they are so much bonded to me it is unreal. Amazing dogs, the most courageous and loving, yet at the same time they certainly need you to have your wits about you.
Terriers are my thing, I absolutely love working with them. California Catchers is awesome, and so is this little dog. Love the name too, WRECKS. How creative!
California Catchers has REAL hi-quality tough & gritty working dogs! I love his website! He really knows his stuff & I can't think of a better source of TRUE hardcore lion-hearted hunting working breeds & types of dogs. I hope he writes a book & makes training videos someday. He is a wealth of knowledge & experience.
Calicatchers is awesome. The way he educates is perfect and the way he breeds for health and performance is admirable. You definitely need to get in touch Zeke
I also had a gift female patterdale named Huntin Honey I loved so much. As a bulldog fan for years I wanted a dog that could run lose and not get in trouble so my friend Mike Wilder gave me this pup. She quickly learned which bulldog not to come close to and was a great little FREE dog. Hello to all the Patterdale people from Montenegro (x Jugoslavia)
Wrecks oh so appropriate for a Patterdale, Wrecks is a superb example of a Patterdale, a lovely dog :-D our Patty "Beano" named after a young person's comic publication in the UK because he's a comic ... yeah I know ... Beano is so much like Wrecks in every way except Beano is black with a white flash on his chest and chin. A great video and yes I love my Patty too for all of his attributes, he is hard work, energetic, alert, smart, has huge stamina, tenacious, has an acute prey drive, needs 2 hours a day walking and is still up for more then in the evening he just has so much love for his people when we are sat together, their loyalty is unquestionable. If you choose to have a Patterdale you must be aware of their attributes and be up for one hell of a ride.
We spent our honeymoon in the lake district, fabulous part of the world! Now a very happy patterdale owner, guess where were going on holiday next year.....🙂
Never had a dog In my life until I got my patterdale. He's a rescue dog and was very hard work at first . Well for a few years . I love him so much and have started a dog buisness up due to my love of dogs all thanks to him , but I agree patterdales are not for the faint hearted
I have 4 Patterdale Terriors. All purebred. We have the mom( 7 yrs] and dad (8 yrs) and kept 2 pups (6 yrs). We have several acres here and they get LOTS of outdoor time. These dogs are uber smart! I've had dogs all my life (59 yrs in March) and these dogs are right up there with my Aussie in intelligence. They are aggressive at times of perceived crises (intruders) and are hole diggers extraordinaire! I have pic of my male sire in a hole with just the tip top of his head showing!!😆 🤣 I wouldn't recommend these as pets for young children. 10+ on up, certainly as they NEED to have a firm, commanding master or they will make for an unhappy home. They are VERY devoted and affectionate too. My Grandpup, Starbug, sleeps with me every night. I give her back her walnut which she nurtures as though it were her own pup. Then, every morning, she drops her "pup" in my hand for me to put away til bedtime...She is my shadow but in TRUTH, I LOVE each one of them and am so happy with our decision to invest time and money into this breed.
Love terriers they are everything I want. I want to learn new things and my dog wants to do the same. I wanna hike, swim, I wanna play with the kids, go volunteer with the elderly. I wanna chill at home and garden and not have to look over my shoulder while I am in the front yard. Terrier can be anything as long as you put the effort in their training. Now days everyone wants a dogs that don't shed, but don't want it to act like a dog.
I had a bitch Patterdale Terrier and good god was she tough, have a reputation of taking on much bigger dogs if it comes to it and because of that, they can get seriously hurt by not knowing when to back down, the eagerness to dig, get down holes is incredible, many books and reviews on Patterdales state this. I thought Patterdales where a mix or in between the Manchester Terrier and the Staffordshire Terrier? Man i loved her, she used to sleep wrapped round my feet every night lol. A truly lovely dog Patterdales.
Nice dog mate. I’m in NW England where these guys originate from. I’ve got a working Lakeland Terrier, which is basically the same dog. Their intelligence and prey drive is amazing. Previously had a Border and an English Bull. Great dogs all. 👍
Joshua Hull mine is 25 pounds and is only 10 months and trust me he could handle is own any day.. he will be 28 to 30 pounds full grown with the heart the size of a lion.
Good for you for being responsible with your choice. They need to work. Incredible that you actually do the work required to have this breed. Our patterdales are 100% working. And will lose their minds if they don't have a job or an exercise regimen. Best breed on the planet for the correct owner. You can't half ass a patterdale
My one never stops. only when he's finally asleep. & he is a very light sleeper & will wake up with the slightest sound.. then he's back off ripping it up. he wants to play the tug of war game constantly.. As soon as I get out of bed he will be trying to put rope in my hands. He's a handful. he's got the devil in him. :)
This dog is virtually the same dog as my dog in temperament , size and intelligence. My dog is parson Russell terrier. Looks very similar only white with couple of black spots. Awesome dog.
My daughter and I now have a Patterdale bitch since December 2019. She we are her fourth home in her four years and was given to my grown up daughter. At first wondered if we had done the right thing as she was a real challenge, snarled, hung on and twizzled on leash if saw cat. We put a chain extension between her collar and leash clip, before we were bitten!! Solved that problem! Now 6 months later everyone who knew her before cannot believe it is the same dog, calmer, settled and adores my daughter. She is sharp but not dangerous any more. Someone previously wound her up about cats but she no where near so bad with this now, even often just looks and keeps walking.
Wrecks could be my dogs brother , he's a cracking little fella. Your description of him matched my Chip exactly. I see this an old video , I hope he's still going strong.
Man if you have a dog bred from California catchers you for sure have yourself a high drive working dog. Their dogs are some of the best hunting/working dogs Cali has to offer.
My nan had one of these when I was a kid looked exactly like this but all black with white chest. There the best breed to cross pits and British bulldogs with in order to get a smaller version of a American bully
Hey Bro, I watch this video in 2020 from Germany. I'm in Love with this dogs. I'm also a very active Guy and also have a Family with 2 kids. My wife and me have a full time job at DIFFERENT Times. Because of that the dog is alone for like 5 Hours each day. We have a big hous and Garten, so he have very much for protect. You think he is a good dog for us? My wife and me have much experience with German Shepards.
i have a patterdale absolutly brilliant dog great with the kids mine is very protective rather than aggressive he is on guard with people and dogs it is bit of a problem because of the unpredictably nature of my patty any tips would be appreciated. wouldnt let a patty off the lead in open spaces they are extremely prey driven if they see something you wont get them back easily
Mines hates anything that moves especially German shepherds size means nothing to them the fella I got him of breeds them and said they are a tough dog and wont stop at any cost
i have a female got 5 mnts old had cat died sadly few mnts back Sinbad , but she loved him used to play with cousins kitten best friends at around 15mnt's , so yeh it all depends on how you play with them teach them, she was even cleaning up cpl kittens i found dumped . there were so young messy after little box sheba clean them up like new mad to play with them.Love her to bit's!
hey dogumentary or anyone in the comments really i have a rottweiler (4months now) and i thought it was going to be a hassle but she is a really nice dog ... maybe a bit too nice will her protective instinct kick in ? or do i have to train to protect my home or will this come naturally
If you want a watchdog, I'm sure your pup's instinct to protect territory will come in as she gets a little older. My German shepherd puppy was super freindly to everyone till he reached about 7 months. I wouldn't count on him for bitework but he makes a great watchdog, alerts me to anyone stepping near my place. He's suspicious and doesn't make friends with anyone immediately. He won't bite or anything but he's very aloof. He'll keep his distance till i properly greet whoever it is and introduce them to him. I'm not entirely sure on rottweilers however. But for sure, with any dog breed, you have to take her to training classes if you want her to learn bitework. But even before you do that you need to know the parents temperament to see if she has the right genes. I know too many people who buy any german shepherd, Dobermans, pitbull, or rottweiler and think just beacuse they have the breed, it will automatically protect them. They need the right gentics and the right training.

Patterdales are little kegs of TNT! Very much like my favorite of all terriers the German Jagdterrier
"Little kegs of TNT" "Oh that's a great description of Patterdales, I might just start using that term myself :-)
Difference is Patterdales are easier to handle than Jagdterriers and better house-dogs.
Terriers are my thing, I absolutely love working with them. California Catchers is awesome, and so is this little dog. Love the name too, WRECKS. How creative!
Tianna Halliwell feel exactly the same!!!👌👌👌
Tianna Halliwell California catchers has some of the best hunting/working dogs Cali has to offer.

Kasperkfk Kasper one of the few breeders left in the USA that have working bull terriers..
I have emailed that guy in the past and he is a real dogman.

Wats up zeke, you should do a video on California Catchers, you should check out the web site. Would like to see more on the working dogs.👍🏼
I"ve talked with him for years now about an interview, I don't think he wants to deal with all the attention.
JASSO por HERENCIA that would be great if he did interview California catchers
I don't remember anyone asking but that doesn't mean they didn't. Thousands of comments left on here each month.
Dogumentary TV Really dude! What the hell can a 20 pound patterdale do to someone? You just better stick to vermin hunting.
Joshua Hull mine is 25 pounds and is only 10 months and trust me he could handle is own any day.. he will be 28 to 30 pounds full grown with the heart the size of a lion.

My dog is parson Russell terrier.
Looks very similar only white with couple of black spots.
Awesome dog.
Your dog looks well trained i can tell from how he watches your 6 during the interview. keep up the good work with him.

Man if you have a dog bred from California catchers you for sure have yourself a high drive working dog. Their dogs are some of the best hunting/working dogs Cali has to offer.
Truthful guy Santana the US has to offer
nice... this is one of the terrier breeds used in the creation of the bull n terrier breeds from the 1800's
EmpireGait Bully not true Patterdales were only created in the early 1900s Bull and Terriers were created in the 1800s ....
Cali catcher dogs are greaaaaat
My nan had one of these when I was a kid looked exactly like this but all black with white chest. There the best breed to cross pits and British bulldogs with in order to get a smaller version of a American bully
🐕💰❤
I try getting 3 kind of dogs from them they didn't have any at the time but they do have all the dogs I want

Pitbulls are pretty small. Id say that's the baddest smallest dog
Can you train them to be sniffer dogs aswell
i have a patterdale absolutly brilliant dog great with the kids mine is very protective rather than aggressive he is on guard with people and dogs it is bit of a problem because of the unpredictably nature of my patty any tips would be appreciated. wouldnt let a patty off the lead in open spaces they are extremely prey driven if they see something you wont get them back easily
True this I let him of in fields and forest and anything he sees he's away like a whippet
Hi Dogumentary. Could you do a video on the Barn Hunt ? Thanks in advance.
people are sleeping on this breed😍
These take no prisoners. People get fooled by their small stature and size. Not a dog for the weak owner. I have a Nuttall
Great video on a breed for which it is hard find good content.
Wow I wasn't at all familiar with this breed. They seem pretty cool.
Are there any breeders around Pittsburgh
nice
I've got a black Patterdale terrior called Tux cause he got a little white bit
But my patterdale is a killer cause when you sleep and he is at the end of your feet if you move he will eat your feet off
My rescue patterdale is a little thug! But we love him very much! Cats, squirrels, birds.....anything he thinks he can kill better watch out!
my patterdale pup is super aggressive toward anyone or anything he doesn't know
C est mon chien j adore ( je plaisante il lui ressembles son portait) 👍💜😇😂🐕🐕
Trop choux 😇👍💜
Patterdale seems to be small cousin of gamebred American pitbull
Mines hates anything that moves especially German shepherds size means nothing to them the fella I got him of breeds them and said they are a tough dog and wont stop at any cost
I am considering this breed and a jagd terrier.....are they good with cats?
i have a female got 5 mnts old had cat died sadly few mnts back Sinbad , but she loved him used to play with cousins kitten best friends at around 15mnt's , so yeh it all depends on how you play with them teach them, she was even cleaning up cpl kittens i found dumped . there were so young messy after little box sheba clean them up like new mad to play with them.Love her to bit's!
Hi, my friend I'm from Brazil. Would you like to have a puppy like this?
what is the number to California Catchers?
hey dogumentary or anyone in the comments really i have a rottweiler (4months now) and i thought it was going to be a hassle but she is a really nice dog ... maybe a bit too nice will her protective instinct kick in ? or do i have to train to protect my home or will this come naturally
hey i'm fine Depends....are you wanting a protection dog or a watch dog? Any info on the parents on whether or not they have a protective instinct?
They need the right gentics and the right training.
okay thanks for the info
I had a patterdale girl called molly. She was a handful to say the least. She killed 2 cats and the next door neighbors rabbits
anyone know any good American bulldog breeders?
bao nhiêu tiền con này bạn ơi.
😍😍😍😍😍 just 👏👏👏👏😍😍😍

All about living with a GSD and also a Rottweiler would be great.

+chris sorrentino
Not exactly. It's kind of confusing, but they are actually a Bull breed. I know that they have Terrier in the name--okay there's a video that Dogumentary TV did a couple of months back with an expert on Pit Bulls. You can check that out. It's called "ALL ABOUT THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER WITH RICHARD F. STRATTON."
You Tuber but the pit was made from two breeds. A bulldog and the extinct old English terrier for gameness
+Old School
That's one of the theories. However, like I was saying to chris, a documentary by Dogumentary TV called "ALL ABOUT THE AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER WITH RICHARD F. STRATTON" stated that the idea of them being made from mixing Bulldog and Terrier makes no sense. He says that doing that would have made them less game, and they already had to be plenty game for the things they were doing.
Pit bulls are terriers dude....
i own 3 patts right off of bandit aka blk dog aka the badger dog i imported my dogs from England
Mine has a beard
Do one on jack russells please
The patterdale lads want my manchester terrier as stud? Faster probs
Какая это порода собак?
My red nose would like them for snacks
I own one and he's 14 months old it don't matter what type of dog comes at him are size they have no fear
Unless your red nose is a true game bred pit dog, any small terrier will make him back the fuck off. Small terriers have a natural aggression that seems more intense than a pits natural aggression
Living with bullarab bro
looks like a bit of staffy in him
