- Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Frankfurt to Manchester on a very cold winter day onboard one of the Embraer E190 operated by Lufthansa Regional.
A very interesting flight from Frankfurt to Manchester, in the UK, onboard one of the Lufthansa Regional E190. The trip started with a very interesting planespotting sesion, in which we could even see A340 and B747. Once onboard, we had to de-ice and anti-ice the plane, as we had lots of snow over the wings and freezing fog at Frankfurt.
The flight itself was quite comfortable. Initially I'd picked a seat without window (I still don't know how) but I was fast to change into another row as soon as the boarding was completed (be carefull with row 27 :P).
The approach into Manchester was with a much better weather, with a final approach over Manchester outskirts and some nice planes at the airport itself. I hope next visit to Manchester airport will be already with some UK touroperators in summer :)

Buen video, acá en Ecuador no hay que descongelar las alas en ninguna ruta, lo que si hay siempre es presencia de nubes excepto de junio a septiembre que es verano, pero hay mucho viento eso sí. Un café a bordo está bueno jejeje. Con tanta mutación que está habiendo, pienso que tomará algún tiempo para volver a tener tranquilidad y libertad de vivir y viajar plenamente. Cuídate mucho.

I am affraid it will take a very long time for things to get "normal" again. I don't think it will ever be like it was again...(to answer your question). :-( Great views on Frankfurt Airport!

Not sure if it will be at the end of summer, or at the end of winter, but what it's for sure is that peolpe won't accept this forever :)
A mis 13 años mi padre me llavaba a EZE por la mañana y me iba a buscar a la noche. 10 horas viendo aviones. Por los 80's Swissair, SAS y Alitalia venian con sus hermosos DC 10, Pan Am con sus 747 100, Viasa y Aero Peru con sus fantasticos DC 8 y ni hablar del L 1011 Tri Star de Eastern procedente del JFK. Cuanta nostalgia! Los que amamos la aviacion agradecidos con estos vodeos. Del otro lado del atlantico apoyando tu canal con mi suscripcion y likes con cada video que subis. Hey everybody, I just spotted this high quality video and was suprised to hear my name on the recording as I was the pilot flying on that particular aircraft. It was my first time flying into Manchester and I am glad that I had the chance to view that flight from a passengers perspective. Thank you for your trip report!

@@OnBoardHD You can believe it or not, your choice =D But anyway, I am happy to see my work here on RUclips and I also sent the link to my college who was the Pilot-In-Command that day. He shares my feeling that it is somehow strange to hear his own voice in a video.

The only reason why it's hard to believe it is the huge number of comments I get saying "I was the pilot on that flight"... Till date, asking all that people simple questions like what is the difference between Vx and Vy; what is the difference between MDA and DA, or why RVR is not always reported; was enough to know that they were not pilots. :)
I don't know why, but in this case, seems to me to be true...

@@OnBoardHD I do understand your scepticism very well since the chance that a pilot recognises him/herself in a video is actually quite weak concering the large amount of RUclips Videos. But those things happen from time to time =)
P.S. Vx = best angle of climb, Vy = best rate of climb, MDA = Minimum descent altitude (used in non-precision approaches), DA = Decision altitude (used in precision approaches) and Runway visual range is only of concern below RVR's of less than 2000m.

Thanks for a great review ! I do like the E190, and it is also pretty quiet on take-off. Glad to see your flight had a good load, but things are not looking good for any increase in leisure travel. With the increasing cases of Covid throughout Europe, it doesn't look likely that residents of the U.K will be able to enjoy non essential flights for some time.
Well, I think travelling will start recovering during summer and autumn... and maybe reach a similar level in winter to that in Winter 2019 (for European flights). Lets see...
My favorite flight reporter! I fly/flew LH quite often. In my opinion it's not bad, but doesn't deserve 5* both in terms of relliability and service

Thanks for posting another fantastic flight report! I hope travel with be more easier this Summer, however I feel it is going to be very restrictive still and similar to last year. We can only hope for improvement! ✈️

I think it will be restrictive... but last summer it was not so restricted in almost any country in Europe. Probably the most restrictive country was the UK... but this year, with such ammount of people vaccinated shouldn't be a problem... :)
I agree with your comments. I think travellers will be put off especially if they have to quarantine upon their return to their home Country.
I flew Munich-Birmingham a few times on Lufthansa regional in the 2000s. They used Avro RJ146 at time. And also provided complimentary meal, I have forgotten if it was a hot meal or sandwich.
I would love to try the Lufthansa Avro's... I arrived to late for that.
Anyway, LH service has been decreasing during the last years for intra-European flights... now with the pandemic this has accelerated. They are moving to a pay-per-eat model.

Nice flight report Lucas.Great infos concerning the de -icing procedure that really saves lives.I flew with Lufthansa younger with their 727,737-300, A300,A321,A320.the older the flight the better it was.better service in the past.cheers buddy

An well made film. I have flown with Lufthansa City Line from London City Airport to Frankfurt a couple of years ago and spent a long weekend in Frankfurt. I would like to go to Germany this year, but due to the current Covid situation in Germany, I don't think that is going to be possible.

I've flown recently with Lufthansa again... and I feel like they are now among the legacy airlines with worst service in Europe... compared with KLM, Iberia, Air France, Austrian... I will make a trip report reviewing this soon.

Muy lindo el video , soy viajero frecuente de Lufthansa , el vuelo mas largo de la compañia es Frankfurt- Buenos Aires, ayer 30 de Marzo hicieron el segundo vuelo desde Hamburgo hasta Puerto Pleasant en las islas Malvinas regresa el 2 de Abril a Munich, en un A350-900 . No es una ruta frecuente llevan y traen cientifcos que trabajan en la Antartida, son13.000 Km si escalas

These seats are not original of Embraer E 190. Maybe was refurbished and changed by Lufthansa.

Not bad at all, but I'm not sure if they deserve those 5 stars (as Singapore or Emirates, for example...). I would love to fly them in long-haul. Probably the service is much better in those flights :)

Lufthansa flyes to the same airports as before. Brexit doesn't affect that.
I believe aviation traffic will recover most likely by the end of the year. It seems like all the airlines are getting prepared by buying new planes, etc.
Yep, seems so. I think traffic will recorver slowly during summer. Then, with the vaccines already well spreaded all around Europe, it should continue to grow during autumn and winter. :)

Great report but you don’t need to show the same aircraft 2 times. For example, the grounded Virgin Atlantic A330. You don’t need to repeat information you already told us.

Mmm I don't think it will take so long (at least for intra-european flights). You can see that the USA just said that all vaccinated people can start travelling without any restrictions (except using facemask). I think around end of summer - begining of autumn, we'll be in that situation in Europe :)

I like Lufthansa. Economy class product is solid both on international and intercontinental flights. 3:57 is the reason why I don't really enjoy flying the E170/190.. windows and seats don't match on many airline layouts !!
Well, I can't say the same in European flights. Product was solid some years ago... not anymore. Even more now that are starting new pay-per-eat service...
