I’m a first year 7th grade teacher, we started at the end of July. I’m so tired and feeling really overwhelmed, especially now that induction is starting. But your positivity truly helps and makes me excited for tomorrow!
Thanks Megan! It can be really overwhelming for all of us. Please make sure you are taking off the time you need. The job is important but take care of you first. 😊
You are so right about yellow dry erase markers. Nobody uses them because nobody can see the writing on the board. So good tip on switching out the caps. Had to laugh because I'm an infant teacher in daycare but we have some of the same issues. We occasionally run out of copier paper. Pens, markers, masking tape and our big one contact paper all get borrowed and not returned. You quickly learned to hide office supplies so you have them when you need them. Watch you because I love your interaction with your students and occasionally I can use things you say. Switching all my dry erase caps to yellow on Tuesday 😂. Would love to see how you take your written list to the computer.
Hey there! Thanks for the kind words. It is amazing how things carry over no matter what the age. My best to you this year! I’ll see what I can do about list video. 😊
I commented last year at a low after getting rejected for job offers… happy to say I’m now back at the middle school I attended in my dream job (8th grade ELA)
Love all of your videos! I would love to see some dedicated content for the many, many secondary teachers without their own classroom (the norm in districts here in New York) as our needs differ from teachers with a space of their own. Thank you for all you do for both kids AND teachers, Reynolds!
I guess my school is the magic unicorn because we never run out of paper to make copies nor are we limited with how much we can copy. But Post-it notes are my best friend! I use them for exit tickets, Icebreakers, quizzes, little happy notes to my students.
Great ideas! I used some of your ideas from earlier videos this year and have things labeled as much as possible. Here's a hack my director suggested to keep students from needing to sharpen their pencils during class. I have a small bucket labeled "Take a Pencil" filled with sharpened pencils. A second bucket says, "Leave a Pencil." Students who have dull pencils leave theirs and take a sharpened one instead of sharpening during class. One of my homeroom students is in charge of sharpening all the dull pencils each morning. This works amazingly well!
Everything is looking good!! Great essentials. I start my first day of school September 9th! Year three of Middle school, here we go. Good luck this year!
Two years ago was my first year teaching and I remember watching a video when you said to keep some paper on hand at all times. Half way into the year and all the paper was gone, but I was able to print tests! 10/10 recommend. XD
I love the picket sign. Lol 😆 I would have so much fun with that.... Jw have you tried the paint that turns it into a dry erase board or chalk board???
Might be a silly question, but do you glue the initial sign to the yard stick? I love the giant sign idea, just wanted to make sure I've got something that'll last awhile. Thanks, Reynolds!
This is a good commercial ad. I prefer to have less stuff in classroom and more space to work and create. Anyway thank you for all the helpful content that you have in your channel.
I hear you. My collection has really grown over the years but that also allows me to help other teachers that might need something. I feel like a one stop shop sometimes. 😂❤️
Wow, I'm starting my first full time gig next week and I feel you Reynolds. I spent hours labeling stuff in my new room yesterday. Feel like I've spent more time organizing than making my lessons
You forgot to add peanut brittle to your supply list. Best of luck to you with being back in the classroom. May you find plenty of analog warmth after a year of digital challenges. Thank you for your video presentation. Take care.
You too John! I have a drawer filled with bottle caps that you sent me that I’m going to share with the boys. I hope this year is a great one for you too buddy!
@@lupitaochoa9529 CJ is referring to the candies called Bottle Caps. Of course, after getting through one week in the classroom, there might be some real bottle caps at home after a few drinks!
Enough sponsored content... your other videos are great. These newer ones are inauthentic... authentic talk is what makes your original videos so refreshing.
Mr. Carvers I have crafted over 500 videos. Almost all of them are for free. We have just about 200 one hour live feeds for free. Sponsored videos are a way for me to pay my bills, support my family, and it provides me the opportunity to continue to offer free videos on this platform for viewers.

I’m right there with you Megan. I started last week, 2 weeks after my students. I don’t think I left work before 5 any day.‘I agree take time off.
Zebra pens!!! The best! Lol I got caught up with flair pens for a while.... but rediscovered my zebras and was like, "awe!"
That paper hack is so, so, so real. I don't think you get enough credit for that tip!

Thanks so much! I wrote down your idea. I’ll see what I can come up with. 😊
"There's a 99% chance of you being awesome today!" Thank you, I needed that today going back Wednesday. Love you Mr. Reynolds!

That "Black expo on a fresh whiteboard" whew!! I always write extra slow and neat!
Reynolds will forever be my favorite teacher 😂
Dude! I don't know where you get your energy from, but it's much appreciated. Thanks for sharing!
I love Zebra pens too! Thanks for the video. I've told select teachers about your ream of paper tip. Saved me at exam time two years ago.
That’s awesome Mary!😂❤️ I love that it worked out.

That’s a really awesome idea! Great work!
My principal describes brand new expo markers as "juicy"
I call them juicy too
That’s Hilarious! I hope your well buddy!
Holy shirt, the giant signs, such a great idea
Congrats on everything you do for your students and yourself on a regular bases!, very inspiring as always!!!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate hearing that. 😊
As a first year Culinary Arts CTE Instructor I find your videos informative and extremely helpful thank you!
Thanks! Glad to help. My best to you this year!

Hey Miranda! That’s awesome!😂
I definitely use those small golf ✏️. One day I saw a custodian sweep up a new one. I liked to pass out.😩
I love the picket sign. Lol 😆 I would have so much fun with that.... Jw have you tried the paint that turns it into a dry erase board or chalk board???
I have used the chalkboard paint but not the whiteboard one. I think the whiteboard paint could be awesome for the sign though!
thank you!
A vacuum…yes!

I hear that. Having my room dialed in and Being really organized truly helps my creative process and it helps me to feel ready for the year
I hid spare paper in my cupboard, incase of emergency :)

Ok…What’s up with the bottle caps, John? I’m Mexican, so you gotta know I have a boatload of them that I use as place markers when playing loteria. 😁
