as someone who always need to follow a pattern, i really appreciate how you're trying to help us create our own projects without the need to follow a specific pattern
this is something i’m so so passionate about!!! i really struggle following patterns, so learning how to freehand or modify patterns made crochet & knitting a lot much for enjoyable for me
Thank you so much for these fun alternatives!! And, um, just a note on potholders/ oven mitts, for anyone who doesn't know already... (I received this warning from my dad years ago, when I was learning about welding, but the idea applies here.) Your safest bet is going to be 100% natural fibers, like cotton or wool. They may shrink with heat, but if they encounter high temperatures or fire, they will basically burn to ash, and not cause you any harm once they're done burning. Synthetic materials tend to melt rather than burn properly, and can make your first-aid/ healing process more difficult, should you get burned through a potholder. (Because you may then have to deal with burns that have fibers or plastic melted on.) There are some synthetics that are made to withstand heat, like quilt batting for sewing potholders, though. I'm not aware of any synthetic yarns that are heat-safe, so please be careful!
I loved every single idea I already made a mesh long sleeve top, a granny square vest (my best project ever) and I’m finishing my raglan crop top (my new favorite) I started with wearables this year and now I can’t stop doing them
I highly recommend the Horizon cardigan pattern by Hobbii. It’s free, very beginner friendly, whips up fast and best of all it’s made by measuring the piece so it doesn’t matter if you crochet loosely or tightly.
Thank you i never follow patterns but i know i should i just find it more calming without one but this gave me insparation! Thank you! Btw i started crocheting when i was 11 and im now 13 and im also currently crocheting my first ever granny square tank top after 2 years of crocheting😂well over due project but im almost done!
Omg thank you so much!! I love the look of crochet bralettes on other people but I have finally come to accept that these boobs were not made to be held up by two pieces of yarn 😂
I am keen to get into tapestry crochet! I've done a few wall hangings with color changes with macrame but never crochet and love what you can do with it! I made monstera coasters a while back and highly recommend them for plant lovers. Not only were they fun to make but they look great and are functional (I didn't initially think they would be, ha) :)

I’m currently making a granny square sweater inspired by ur white and black granny square sweater but I’m getting stuck on the neckline. I think you said on tiktok that you knit the collar/ribbing, but I was curious if you did any extra neck shaping or just worked around the square shape of the neckhole (hopefully that makes sense)? Would also love a video on granny square projects as I’m such a sucker for them !!
how exciting, please do share the final outcome I’d love to see it! 😍 Yes I knit the neckline etc. in ribbing and just knit around the squares as they are, it automatically falls around the neck in a round shape
I’m still figuring that out as well! I’m currently filming a whole video just in making different scrunchies but I haven’t gotten to the crochet one yet 🙈 i linked a pattern in the description if you wanted to try it
THANK YOU FOR THIS I DON'T WANT TO MAKE A BRALETTE I'M LIKE TWELVE (no offense to bralettes ppl who wear them look gorgeous I just think I'm a little too young for it)
Aw no fair enough! I love your goose tapestry, my bf calls me silly goose so now I think I need to make it ;) should be able to work it out from the details in the video and description! ❤
Also, I sent this to my mum, she's a crochet teacher and designer, she loves your stuff (although she did say that she's actually never made a bralet lol)

Not usually a granny square person but your right, they can look so different with different color ways, the pink mohair sweater looks adorable!
it's so cute, isn't it! I think using different fibres and colours for the granny squares definitely makes them more interesting :))
Thank you i never follow patterns but i know i should i just find it more calming without one but this gave me insparation! Thank you!
