Have you tried UV set resin? The good thing about it is that it's crystal clear and sets in seconds but only when you shine a UV flashlight on it, it's rock hard in a minute or two. The bad thing is that there's no gummy stage where you can manipulate it.
Really interesting! I had thought there was an led in there as well, thanks for showing! Don't have a broken crystal but now I won't take one apart out of curiosity.
This is fantastic. Awesome breakdown, explanation. Great job. I do have a question. Is there a specific orientation that chip has to be in when re soldering?
the antenna in the pet chips don't play very well with savi's hilts. custom kyber crystal makers usually need to insert a pet chip at either end of the crystal so there's a tag close enough to the reader for it to be picked up. the bigger antenna in the kyber crystals is designed to work with the reader in a savi's hilt or holocron, which is why i think it's better to try and at least reuse the original antenna than replacing the whole thing with a pet chp.
@@Ruthsarian the reason I asked is i was able to get a pet chip working in both hilt and holocron so thought it may be easier(was a single chip as well).
Have you tried the Sith wayfinder yet? I have a bunch of crystals it doesn’t read but they work perfectly in both holocrons, lightsaber and RFID reader! Don’t know what’s going on 😮
I have. Working on a video. The problem is the wayfinder is (needlessly) sending read commands to the RFID tag in the crystal. If you've ever reprogrammed the RFID tag in the crystal, the writer reconfigured the the tag to require a login command before a read command. The wayfinder is not sending a login command, just a read command. This will work for stock crystals, but not reprogrammed crystals. It's possible to fix this with a Proxmark3 Easy.
@@Ruthsarian I thought this might be the cause. Sadly I have reprogrammed half my crystals so it seems only the factory ones are working. Can you please do a tutorial video on the proxmark fix that’s noob friendly?
i usually render these videos with mono audio since i'm only using a single mic. i'm not sure how the audio for this video wound up as stereo, but with audio only coming through one side. i could re-render and re-upload this video, but then I lose these comments. i'm kind of stuck and just need to take it as a lesson for future videos.
I just bought a purple crystal from GE and I opened it up, popped it into my hilt and it just wasn’t working. I fumbled to go get my other crystals and they all worked. I’m still going. Through the video but I’ll update you guys if I fixed it…

Always excited to see another Ruthsarian video!

nope! you can reverse the wires and it'll still work.
Hi I was wondering what job this kinda stuff is and how I could learn how to do all this stuff
Was curious what the rfid looked like in the kybers. Wonder if it would just be easier to replace with a pet chip and code it compared to soldering.
