There are 28 beaches in this island and mostly white sand but you went to only a few. You missed out on the over 7 miles of pure white sand beach on the other side.
I was there until yesterday and now I'm in Phnom Pen, such a shock. I worry about Koh Rong because with the transformation of Sihanoukville due to Chinese investments, it will affect it at some point. I'm sure that there are already many development plans for the island. The time to enjoy it is now, while it lasts...
I heard when I was there in 2017 that the Chinese are planning to build a mini motorway all around the island ☹ surprised something like that or serious development hasn't happened yet. Saying that from when I was there and looking at videos of it now it seems like its changed already! I genuinely really hope its stays how it is.

Beautiful place!! Me and my GF were there about a month or so ago. We only went to Koh Rong Sanloem though. The best beach there was Clearwater bay. I don't think you went there as it wasn't in your vlog. Unfortunately the 2nd time we went to that beach it was full of rubbish. We went round picking it all up and filled an industrial cement bag full. The cement bag was dumped there too, such a shame when you see that..... Anyways, we are in Philippenes at the mo too for a month. We're on Palawan now. If we happen to see you around we'll say hi! 👍 safe travels both of you 😁

even though i'm in My Khe beach in Da Nang, this video makes me miss island living.....i loved kata, karon, surin, and kata noir beaches on phuket, and some of the beaches on Koh Samui.....once i am able to travel again and have visited the places in vietnam i want to, i am then going to search for the perfect island somewhere in the world to call home....or at least headquarters, that is a good jumping off point to travel from.... ; ) i wonder if Carol has ever been to Santa Marta, or Cartegena in Colombia....i have been to bocas del toro panama, and it is amazing....would love to live half the year in the caribbean, and half of the year in SE Asia......

Good you point out the trash situation which unfortunately for me really detracts from a place - I find it tough to ignore and forget about. But great looking beaches, perfect drone territory. Glad you’ve had such good experiences in Southeast Asia after the rough start (which must seem like ages ago) in Old Delhi and the hiccup in Sri Lanka.

With the insect cover around the bed it’s fine, non get inside. Most huts always have those as they are full of open gaps to the outside

Yeah the beaches on the koh rong islands were miles better than anything we saw in koh Chang and even on the majority of the Thai islands

If you really love ocean/beach PH. If chillin in historic land, cheap, without interference CM. Koh Rong/(Saloem) you only need 4>7 days.
