The two quotes you were looking for, in case you want to put them in future: "I can be good at games if I want to" was said when Leanna was in the room with him, and she basically rolled her eyes and did a "sucking himself off" motion. The other one was when he was talking about the Iron Man Gaming competition from a convention where he said "You wanna know the truth? I'm probably one of the best overall gamers in the country."
I seen both of those but i swear to god there was a clip where he specifically said he could pick up a controller and play any game at a professional level
Snort Burnell uses it often. I'm not sure how easy it is to contact her but it does exist. It was from the camless prestream days. "At any moment, I can pick up a controller and play any game at a professional level."
In terms of finding the clip about what he said about being good at games, try a TIHYDP. The one where he says that he can be good at games if he wants to, for example, is at the opening of a black ops 1 multiplayer TIHYDP.
So you know, it's not a Mandela Effect; Phil really did say "I can be good at games if I want to", which context he was trying to defend his shite gameplay at that time. Might need to get checked out because you might be suffering reverse Pignosis.
4:42 VERY well said here, Atlus. So many people complain about trophies, but, for the most part, I like them. Granted, trophies that are locked behind online achievements I think are terrible, they DO add challenges to games and maybe make you play a game in a fun and interesting new way. And seeing that tough to get trophy unlock can be SUCH a rush. It's no different than doing a no sword or 3 heart run of the original Legend of Zelda. It's just with trophies, you can actually prove you did it to those who give a crap. FYI, it's become so popular that there's a group that adds retro achievements to games run through Retroarch and PPSSPP, so you can earn achievements on games LONG before achievements were even a thing. That's an amazing thing, and just shows the passion that the community has.
I am dog shit at Call of Duty games but I used to play them with my friends. The second I started doing really well I knew something was off. It's amazing how little he questions everything. Obviously I'm doing well at this game, I'm DSP. Duh loser trolls.
He literally talks about spammers and he spams the same moves over and over when he plays players that don't know really what to do he acts like he's the best and then when he plays competent players he runs like the pig he is squealing button mashers 😂
It’s pathetically childish how he cannot face his true level of skill. The results speak for themselves, but he weasels out of them by claiming he chose to play at a mediocre level and could be competitive if he invested the time and so desired. This is a classic unfalsifiability fallacy - it’s literally impossible to disprove Phil’s claim. He relies on this fallacy almost like a crutch. He doesn’t understand that such claims are meaningless and only make him look like a liar. In his demented confusion he thinks they are clever diversions from the truth.
I want to let everyone know two things: 1. Famous Japanese Street Fighter Player Sako is 44 years old (born April 9, 1979) and he never complained about his age while he's been a notable player. 2. Capcom Cup X (the latest Capcom Cup) Winner UMA just won last month and has never had a sponsor or team in his life and came to Capcom Pro Tour wearing a Vtuber's (Okami Mio) hoodie. The FGC is for ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS, and never let DSP tell you otherwise
15:25 you leave out perhaps the SINGLE most important reasons why he won't do tournaments. #1, if he has to pay for a tournament, he has less money to spend pulling Hogans. And #2, more importantly, it would require him to actually go out of his gated bubble into the real world where he can't control the chat about him. He's become such a shut in he only leaves his house once a week. He'd rather let old kitty litter and Styrofoam boxes pile up in his garage until he "has" to run to the dump, then pat himself on the back for "cleaning" his garage out. He would rather do ANYTHING other than leave his protective bubble he's built around himself. Trust me. If he could get away with it, he would have all of his groceries and appointments come to his home, and he would NEVER leave.
6:54 Got a suggestion, if you're talking during a part where Phil gets up from his chair, leave the video itself playing. You can have a stop watch showing how long that chair's cooling for while he's doing God knows what. And then also scale the video speed to be exactly as long as you're talking for before Phil gets back.
I mean, I suspect anyone can get good at a fighting game if they put enough time and effort into learning it. But I got a friend who's actually good at couple of them, and it takes much more than a couple of hours a week and whining about spammers.
dsp says that everybody who beats him is just mashing random shit, does random supers, have 0 strategy and just go "hahahahaha *mash buttons* im playing tekken hahahahaha" yet at the same time phil is incapable of beating these guys when, if they really are scrubs, dsp should be able to beat them. Phil also is claiming that people spam op online safe tactics and there are basically 2 ways to look at strats one considers op a) figure out a way to counter the op stuff b) use it yourself especially if you think its this easy to just do it. dsp does neither and if the online strats he talks about are safe and unblockable and all then dsp should just use them himself if he wants to win.
Phil is an insane COPE modus during this stream. And combining that with knowing that this MAN is about 42 years old just show how Lost as a human being he is. The Desperation will just grow in him as he gets older and life is more meaningless... Narcissists have a higher chance of committing suicide than the average person because of the way they live/lived their life.....
Your take on SBMM is very based and epic and robust and meaningful and it's even pretty tangy. One thing I will point out in case you don't know, is that CoD doesn't actually have SBMM. It isn't trying to match you up with people of your skill level. It has EOMM, AKA Engagement Optimized Matchmaking. It Casino-style rigs your games to keep you just engaged enough that you don't get bored from winning too much, or frustrated from losing too much. It's far more insidious than I'm describing it here because it rigs so much more than just your opponents, but you get my point I'm sure.
I didnt know it had a different name. Figured it was only the natural evolution of sbmm. Because why wouldnt they rig matchmaking like a casino to maximize profits
@@AtlustheBookkeeper Overwatch has this system too, even in ranked. As do many other games. I called it SBMM for the longest time as well. Because for all that time I genuinely thought that it was trying to give me a fair match with me + 5 other players of similar skill on my time, vs 6 players around my skill level on the enemy team. That is absolutely NOT what happens. If you wanna know more, just do some quick research on EOMM. Publishers found that truly skill-based matchmaking actually had LOWER player retention than purely random matchmaking (shocker I know). What's absolutely disgusting is that most devs/publishers remain dead silent about what their matchmaking is doing, and let people assume that it's purely skill-based, when it's actually EOMM. This leads to players fighting amongst themselves and the tiresome "u just wanna play against n00bz" narrative. I still absolutely dominate lobbies even with EOMM. But I despise current CoD matchmaking. Everything about it is revolting. Hope I live to see it get banned banned banned banned banned. Gone. Forever.
16:00 the winner of Capcom cup (million dollar tournament) was won by an unsponsored vtuber fan named UMA from taiwan. Being the best in a tournament takes work, but just participating isn't a problem for majority of players. Dave can play a online tournament right now... he doesn't have to win and playing is suppose to be fun.
I've said this before but ill say it again, the BEST parts of DSP is when he bitches about a character in fighting game being broken and too powerful while he is against them, but when they start playing that character he still gets his ass kicked and he changes the excuse to he doesn't know the "online combos" because he can't admit that he just sucks.
I feel like I'm having flashbacks to blanka in sf6 how he got to master and it was such an accomplishment, then he started seeing what true competition looked like and it was all oh you could just spam to master. It doesn't take any skill. Give it 2 months and it'll be the same for Tekken.
I don't get how he doesn't understand that people don't care about his win loss ratio but we laugh at the absolute stupid shit he makes up as reasons why he loses
I'd love to see DSP play Unicorn Overlord, I just got it and it's a blast, but it's literally everything he butches about: an RPG, a strategy game, it has attractive female characters (attractive characters in general honestly, but he'll only focus on the T&A, garaunteed) it seems decently lengthy AND even on its easier difficulties it still pushes the player to meddle and experiment with unit loadouts. Granted I've not heard Phil gripe about those last two things, but adding them to the list is worth something, I guess
He also retcons SFV HARD. He played it a ton, praised it at first, came back to it years later even. He absolutely tried to get good at it. He just couldn't because SFV wants a consistent win ratio to rank up, and he needs to cope that he was hardstuck in Silver.
I am really starting to get irritated every time dsp mentions his age I get it he's getting older and I think it's at a point where he needs to do something with his life besides play video games for a living I don't want to see him do this for a living by the time he reaches 50 if that happens then something is clearly wrong
Says he hhad a positive win rate in masters. Most of his wins came from ranks below master. He couldn't hang at masters. Thats why he quit playing. Another way he misleads his audience.
Phil is so paranoid about detractors because they already put a negative light on him that he’s afraid newcomers will dislike him the moment they see him. The problem is that any new viewer of his has a high chance to dislike his content regardless of detractors’ input. It’s due to a lack of humility; “He didn’t f$&k up the inputs, the controller stopped working properly.” “He didn’t misread the opponent, they just did a _Hail Mary Super_ for the win.” Regardless of the reason, his high-ranked opponent will never earn a win. That’s why Phil will never find peace; he’s never made peace with his minor failures, so he can’t find peace when he fails at anything. If the game is too hard, it’s the game’s fault he quits it. If the gameplay is unappealing, it’s the game’s fault, or the viewers’ faults, or something else to shift blame away from himself, because he will never admit that his content is not worth any money, let alone $50.
Variety to who exactly? The actual viewers or the whales which is of course the whales. Calls himself Mr. Variety but when viewers provided suggestions; don’t wanna. Still hilarious every time he hits a wall just quits and moves on, loser mentality right there.

Cell phone wrist, he's pulling hogan's like crazy this year, over $10,000 already iirc
The two quotes you were looking for, in case you want to put them in future:
"I can be good at games if I want to" was said when Leanna was in the room with him, and she basically rolled her eyes and did a "sucking himself off" motion.
Was he asking the landscaper for a tip or contribution from the window?
Wouldnt doubt it
This win loss ratio is coming from rounds not matches. Having two nights of losing would cause a below 50% win loss ratio
wait, hold on, Phil is in his 40s! You'd think he would've mentioned it several times per stream...
In terms of finding the clip about what he said about being good at games, try a TIHYDP. The one where he says that he can be good at games if he wants to, for example, is at the opening of a black ops 1 multiplayer TIHYDP.
Avarice still with the full on brain rot. GENUINELY believe that might be a larper. I refuse to believe thats how a real person thinks and acts.
So you know, it's not a Mandela Effect; Phil really did say "I can be good at games if I want to", which context he was trying to defend his shite gameplay at that time. Might need to get checked out because you might be suffering reverse Pignosis.
The detractors...
*they were right*
phill does his streams like hes presenting to new people that have never seen his videos before
4:42 VERY well said here, Atlus.
I want to let everyone know two things:
Don't worry everyone hates sbmm
You say that, but some people have come out of nowhere saying otherwise
That thumbnail is sick! Need JWong saying that line tho 😂
Wish i had that input before lol
6:54 Got a suggestion, if you're talking during a part where Phil gets up from his chair, leave the video itself playing. You can have a stop watch showing how long that chair's cooling for while he's doing God knows what. And then also scale the video speed to be exactly as long as you're talking for before Phil gets back.
Noted 🤔
9:57 I laughed at the square block analogy because it's facts
Love that he quit the game right after the next time he played and got wrecked
Funny how he says its because he doesn't care yet he literally has banned people for saying his opponents played well
I mean, I suspect anyone can get good at a fighting game if they put enough time and effort into learning it. But I got a friend who's actually good at couple of them, and it takes much more than a couple of hours a week and whining about spammers.
In honor of Atlus, we need a game with skill based loot box mechanics!
Based
Bejeweled would be a good fit for him. It’s very hard to lose - especially the older ones.
Haha he plays that already with the WWE Champions that is a Bejewled/Candy crush game with sweaty jpegs
"hand over those velcro wallets" LMAOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOO
dsp says that everybody who beats him is just mashing random shit, does random supers, have 0 strategy and just go "hahahahaha *mash buttons* im playing tekken hahahahaha"
yet at the same time phil is incapable of beating these guys when, if they really are scrubs, dsp should be able to beat them.
Phil also is claiming that people spam op online safe tactics and there are basically 2 ways to look at strats one considers op
a) figure out a way to counter the op stuff
b) use it yourself especially if you think its this easy to just do it.
dsp does neither and if the online strats he talks about are safe and unblockable and all then dsp should just use them himself if he wants to win.
18:22 Does this guy really think his audience that he insists is in the 30 to 40 year old range hasn't heard of the term "A Grind"?
Gone. Forever.
Big ups for the great detractor content, Atlus
Appreciate that 🙏
I love how he replaces the word played with covered 😂. What a clown
I thought his hands hurt.
Phil trying to retcon history again
Hype that you're a trophy/achievement hunter Atlus, love going for trophies
I've said this before but ill say it again, the BEST parts of DSP is when he bitches about a character in fighting game being broken and too powerful while he is against them, but when they start playing that character he still gets his ass kicked and he changes the excuse to he doesn't know the "online combos" because he can't admit that he just sucks.
This is what I sound like when I tell current players I was low Diamond in League in like 2014 lmao
I feel like I'm having flashbacks to blanka in sf6 how he got to master and it was such an accomplishment, then he started seeing what true competition looked like and it was all oh you could just spam to master. It doesn't take any skill. Give it 2 months and it'll be the same for Tekken.
Calling edp and boogie gross, while his wife does daily door dash muckbangs is wild
I don't get how he doesn't understand that people don't care about his win loss ratio but we laugh at the absolute stupid shit he makes up as reasons why he loses
BoshiBitsu
"IM THE ONE! 😳 MEE REEEE "
“They got sponsors, that’s how they get to high level” jealousy is strong in this piggy 🐖
He said he was one of the top gamers in the country
If only Phil could strive to reach the stars. If only he could have more goals in life rather than always clinging at whatever little twig of success he can pull.
Instead, we just get this massive cope segment justifying and giving excuses as to why he isn’t good at games.
7:00 - "I havent actually tried to be good at Street Fighter..."
Piggy really wants us to believe that despite playing for over a decade, he never really applied himself to play it well? Really? Especially when comsidering that he got (sigh) fourth place at that one Evo tournament and wouldn't stop squawking about it. *Frantically presses X*
Phil is out here sounding like LTG. I halfway expect him to start saying he was onlyngoing at two percent when he gets smacked around in fighting games now.
