    Honestly pretty bizarre that the first half of the game consists of a lot of opponents that are TAS tied or almost TAS Tied (Bull 1) with not too poor RNG.
    And then Honda 1 strolls in with the 3rd worst RNG. Guess we'll only be seeing a TAS tied Major Circuit then.

  • @gmofftarki
    @gmofftarki Год назад +2

    The bit I find confusing is the thing where Adelikat figured out Turk's 42.97 strat... it sounds like the guard manipulation thing wasn't known at the time, but shortly after the McHazard guard manip thing they move to the 3-star phase1 strat without guard manipulation: Is there a reason why Sinister and Adelikat discount the possibility that he might have done it that way? It would also be much more understandable with his reticence to explain to Sinister, since, rather than just the bonkers RNG it sounds like, a simple explanation would immediately put his hard work at risk.

    • @Papamanual
      @Papamanual  Год назад +2

      As far as I know, what Adelikat and sinister worked out was at least on par with Turks strat, so they claimed they had cracked it - although the odds were tremendously bad... The thing with Honda 1 is there is so much randomness and small variations, that many strategies could achieve similar times.
      The exact strategy they claimed was the one Turk used has since been lost to time - and I've spoken to Turk and he also doesnt remember. If the strat had a guard manipulated max damage uppercut, im sure they would remember such a thing.

    • @gmofftarki
      @gmofftarki Год назад

      @@Papamanual Thanks for the response. I agree that they probably would have remembered anything like guard manipulation, especially since you describe it as being new at that point.

    • @Papamanual
      @Papamanual  Год назад +1

      @@gmofftarki Well just regular guard manip has been a thing for a long time. Just tapping up to land a gut punch was not new. Guard manipulated max damage uppercuts is what McHazard discovered (and thats when that sort of knowledge of such things became public)

    hey Pap, I have some question tassing MTPO
    I know that TASs are, but how a TAS don't mess up with a very RNG heavy game? I know they use save states to work, but what about in full videos? or the videos of tassing are edited to fit everthing?

    • @Papamanual
      @Papamanual  Год назад +3

      So, there is no editing done. Its all one single movie file that gets played back. Think of it like my TAS sheet (where I put all of the button inputs) is like a long essay with no spelling errors. RNG is manipulated through my own inputs so i have to make sure my 'essay' is perfect.
      Lets say my essay for an ideal run was:
      "The quick brown fox jumped over the grey fence"
      if i go and change the "x" in fox to a "g" - then what happens to my essay is this...
      "The quick brown fogpoklsadjnfkjl;nwasdl;j;k;fn"
      it messes up everything from that point. And that is literally the only thing I changed. If I go back and change that one input, then everything is restored.
      So as Im constructing the TAS. I go through step by step to make sure everything is the way I want from the very start of the game.
      Hope this helped.

    It's amazing how you leave the part out where I routed 24-second phase one. Nolan didn't come up with anything on this fight, zero!! It's the small details that matter Pap.

    • @Papamanual
      @Papamanual  10 месяцев назад +3

      I never mentioned that Nolan came up with the 24 second phase 1 - only that he was first to hit it along with the rest of the strategy.
      If you want to claim that you invented the phase 1 which Nolan used, you would be wrong. The "Triple face punch" wasn't your invention, it was knowledge from Phil & G's TAS way back in 2004. The second I came up with the phase 1 I used, I knew triple face punch was possible and I knew it would save a chunk of time. I am NOT saying I came up with the 24 second phase 1.
      Subbing out the Triple Right Gutters for Triple Face Punches was so obviously a time save to me, I concluded that it was extremely obvious to any good/knowledgeable MTPO runner, saying it is a "new" strategy is laughable - its a small variation at best.
      I know you have created small variations of other strategies such as changing a max damage star punch into a reverse max damage star punch - but that doesnt even save time, or change anything structurally about the strat, its a preference of how you want to perform the strat. You and I have very different standards on what constitutes a new strategy.
