you either use the colour drop tool or follow this tutorial which has the same effect like this one but involves "secondary colours"!

I know this video is already a couple years old so I'm unsure if you will see this but
Is it possible for the brush to combine with other strokes without overlapping lines if that makes sense? Like if strokes overlapped it would make a blob rather than having lines get jumbled.
