Yankees Aaron Judge & Juan Soto are the GREATEST duo EVER

- The Yankees won 8-1 against the Guardians in a game that saw plenty of good after a heartbreaking 12 inning defeat the night before. There's a lot of good to take away. Nestor Cortes was fantastic, the lineup looked good on paper and we got some news on reinforcements. Gary and Jake break down the game and whether or not Aaron Judge and Juan Soto are the best duo in sports.

What makes this show great is Sheff has the pedigree to stand strong on his opinions and not worry about sponsors, ESPN, Yes, or being on a podcast with an ex major leaguer. So he can have honest takes without shock jock filter.
And Jake is that smooth analytical mind who is so intelligent ...this is just the perfect combination.
Applause to you both & continued success.
Thank you, Kendell.
I’d love sponsors but delivering the best show is priority number one for me and it always will be. They will come.
Thank you for supporting us.
Judge/Soto is the best Yankees duo I've ever seen. (Since 1962).
That episode and Jomboy and Jake putting the questions to Boone are both legendary.
That’s last video deserved all that recognition. The amount of baseball knowledge dropped on that episode was insane
We try! You are quality viewers so we want to give you quality viewing!
I really enjoy your show. Ever since I retired 3 years ago. I used to have conversations with my commuting friends now I have you guys every morning. Great show.
There is no better baseball analysis show around. Period! I watch every day.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Kiss ass much lol😂
You know NY got y'all back we love the show keep it going and you got the son of a legend on the show we all love Gary Sheffield in NY.
Thank you so much we appreciate you
You just can't put them ahead of Ruth-Gherig....and believe me im a huge fan especially of Soto. But go back and look at Ruth and Gherigs numbers together, for years
Most importantly, the rings. Where Soto & Judge rank later on will depend on that.
Well I fear that the numbers are inflated. Mainly because of the meatball pitchers back then
Come on now times have changed can't live in the past
I see what you guys are saying, but I’m not gonna lie, mlb is more competitive now than ever in all aspects especially pitching and defense. You put these guys back in those players era and they’re doubling those numbers.
True...Stats back Ruth & Gehrig...But Judge & Soto are generational talent duo and now ahead of Mantle & Maris, Mays & McCovey, etc. imho
you guys do a great job, I listen at work. I like your shows!
Now that’s dedication. Thank you for supporting Yanks U!
@@yankeesunloaded Gary I remember meeting your father out in Sayville Long island when he was just a kid. At the long island merchandise mart
Gary Sheffield Son is here 💯
Dodgeball, always there till the end, hands down the best Yankees podcast around ❤
Dodgeball was hilarious! Love the show, guys!
another great show. Definity the most in depth podcast out for yankees. Dodgeball
Great Show 🎤 guys 💪🏼💪🏼
The Bipolar line couldn’t be more correct, this season has been a grind every single day
Dodge Ball , Just started watching yesterday come across your show . I think you have a great show and info on the Yankees. Thanks
Welcome aboard!
I’m firmly in the DFA Verdugo camp and very nearly there on LeMahieu. Call up Dominguez and let’s get to work on giving the guys that are realistically gonna get us through October the playing time they need to lock in their rhythms.
They screwed up Ben Rice
It should happen NOW if we’re being honest here…
Luis Gil going on the 15 day injured list might be a blessing in disguise. It helps reduce Gil's total innings load, it gives a chance for the Yankees to see if Will Warren, Clarke Schmidt, and Cody Poteet could help the starting rotation for the rest of the season, and like John Smoltz, going from starter to closer and back to starter, Luis Gil might be able to help in late inning reflief only for the last few weeks of this all in for Soto 2024 season and playoffs, and then have Luis Gil return as a starter next season in 2025,
You guys are doing amazing! Love this podcast .. my daily listen
Thank you so much. We are glad you are enjoying it!
I've been a NYY fan since 1968. I can't say I have ever seen anything quite like this combo. And what if they could load up to some sort of TRIO. It would be awesome.
Coming down the home stretch for 2024 and I think Nestor Cortes is showing true grit.
Totally agree. Its been special. Cortes also has shown a lot of grit!
Judge and Soto are legend…..wait for it..dary!
And also dary!
This is my #1 listen on my morning drive. Congratulations on such a great podast!
I send this podcast to my Yankees fans group on Facebook.
Let’s go! Thx! 🏆
Dodgeball. Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge. We know who will be catching today, so I really hope Wells is the DH. I don’t expect it though. Congrats on the success guys!
Haven't seen Dodgeball yet. I think the only reason we aren't seeing Wells as a leadoff hitter yet is because they still see him as a platoon catcher, which is both stupid and crazy.
Platoon is a bad word on this channel😂 But totally hear ya
You guys keep it real… that’s why I’m here. The Yankees run this team like little league… “everybody has to play” feelings can’t be hurt..
Facts! We appreciate you
Great job, specially all this possible rosters but knowing how Cashman works don’t be surprised if DJ and Verdugo on the postseason roster
I'm sorry Cano was incredible even more clear with Torress at second.
He was but he wasn’t Juan Soto
@@yankeesunloaded no doubt
Ya i listen to the whole 52 min i never do that!
Gary watch Blades of Glory, Semi Pro, Caddy Shack, Airplane, Stripes. Those are my top picks for comedies from new and old. ;-)
Best in any sport.
I will say this…judge could hit 63 homers as Jake has mentioned only if this were to happen…if Wells is hitting cleanup. I’m a big wells fan and he is by far your best protection for judge. Pitchers are realizing that wells is a dangerous hitter. The only person that could stop judge in maybe having a chance to get to 63 homers is…..Boone and his crazy lineup setup.
Boone stops all. Almost looks suspicious.
Very well put! Boone’s lineups could ruin this bid for sure
The Soto double was BRILLIANT hitting. 17:58
Fantastic hitting
@@yankeesunloadedOther pundits/podcasters insist it was a checked swing…it was a deliberate oppo field hit to an open L infield…I saw no attempt to hold up.
@@RogerBaumgarten it just looked like one but i agree it was done on purpose
33 in the next 35 games and Soto / Judge break the 63 yr old record for home runs by a pair on the same team . Mantle and Maris 1961..115 HRs .
32 now 😁
@@yankeesunloaded I'm watching on MLB now.
Great news Soto and Judge scored 8 runs . Bad news only Soto and Judge scored all the runs . I’ll take it
Haha
My fav duo was Mantle and Maris in 1961. Its hard to beat what those 2 did in 61. Not saying what Judge and Soto are doing isnt just as good, maybe better in many ways. But as a vintage fan, what Mantle and Maris did in 61.... its like i said, hard to beat. ;-)
Great game last night. Much needed win. I like last nights lineup much better than the previous games. When Wells is not starting... i have to scratch my head and question wtf we are doing. But hey, thats just me lol.
@@ctcards2636 a big Wells fan. He by far is the third best hitter in the lineup with the other hitter after unfortunately far behind. Why leaving this man to not play almost every game is still shocking to me.
We agree with you haha much needed win and a fun lineup
Totally agree
Dodgeball, great movie!
Not yet...Ruth & Gehrig still #1...But Judge & Soto have surpassed Mantle & Maris imho
📈
Late thoughNo joke ! Did anyone ever consider that Gleyber Torres could have had ADHD and now has been diagnosed because his play lately seams more focused . PS Verdugo again in left field today.
👀 We are going to talk a lot about Gleyber tonight
Jordan, Pippen
will yankees unloaded be active during the off-season
We will, and we’ll have to figure out exactly what our audience would like to see this winter.
Dodgeball! The Yankees will need to see Clay Holmes dodge bats going forward...
Love it
Dodgeball Go Yankees
🫡
Dodgeball love that movie. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Its so funny
You need to look up Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Judge is one of the best players of all time. I wish Soto would sign for 38 million for 8 yrs. He is the home run king without steriods.
@jay...For sure...Judge is already there imho...Top 10 All-time MLB right now...And likely Top 5, or even Top 3 by the time he hangs it up...Ruth clearly #1 and Gehrig's #s are astounding
Can Berdi play 1st?
Good question! Unfortunately he’s never played 1st
@@yankeesunloaded if he’s played 3rd I think he can play 1st…..isn’t 3rd considered a harder position??
if you want to win, what is the point of playing these high contract washed up players just to save face about your bad deals? The dealer has to go!
Yes
If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball.
Anthony Rizzo just hit better than LeMahieu and Rice and play a solid first base that’s all this team needs
Thats fine but can they do that in the playoffs? when it matters
Judge and Soto are terrific but its a team game
Rest of the team is so so
Those 2 guys cant do it alone
Rizzo noooooo please
😂
Don't get why people want to see Rizzo back. Guy had a batting line comparable to what Verdugo has been since June. Also can't play defense
DODGEBALL 🏐
Hi gentlemen, I have one question for you gent's..Please explain to me, if you even have a clue yourselves, why Bafoone is so far up D.J's and Travino"s ass?..I don't understand why he thinks he owes it to these mo-mo's to play them everyday..I mean they brought up Vivas and he sat for three games, then Dominguez is that 27th man, and if that happened already, we didn't see him either..I cannot look at this team with D.J in the lineup anymore..you want to hear my prediction, I don't think Dominguez will be an every game player come the postseason, he'll be a bench player, and D.J will play every day..then I'll go absolutely nuts guys..I'm gonna go play some " Dodgeball " for a bit..thanks for another awesome show..have a great day and see you tonight my friends..Peace gentlemen ✌️🔥⚾
It seems he’s an optimist whether right or wrong. Very long leash that’s cost the Yankees games, unfortunately.
We’ll see when it’s postseason time if that continues…
They had Barry Bonds, I have Aaron Judge 💪🏽
Love it!
@@yankeesunloaded you guys are great man love the show keep up the amazing work 💪🏽
I have a concern that Judge may suffer the usual decline after 32.
He’s a special player and they can absolutely prolong his career at first base, as Jake mentioned.
It’s also possible to see him long term at DH the way we saw Ortiz.
Jake that lineup is horrible
:(
Maholmes & Kelce have to considered better, because of their Championships. Yes, it’s a team sport, but the greatest greats win rings
Would still take Judge and Soto but I get the sentiment
THINK MARTIAN called up SOTO, JUDGE, WELLS, BIG G, JAZZ comes back. If Volpe, Gleyber, Verdogo if one of them get hot leading off. Wow
Mr. SWAGGER , PERAZZA also
soto and judge won't hit 115 homeruns because soto isn't going to hit 54 this year. He's at 36 right now. Mantle and Maris went 61 and 54. Judge isn't going to hit 70. At least, not this year lol.
Ummmm Kobe & Shaq guys
Different game..Judge and Soto can't pitch, come off the bench and start at the same time, or close a game..two different games, miles apart..but I understand your point my friend..LET'S GO YANKS! 🤞⚾
Thats a great one!
Greatest duo ever? Huh. I truly like the Judge, Soto duo as Yankees and am excited to see them hit every at-bat of every game. Until you have multiple championships, you haven't proven yourself on the biggest stage when it matters. They're awesome but they're not as good as; 5..Jeter & A-rod 4.Mantle & Berra 3. DiMaggio & Bill Dickey 2.DiMaggio & Gehrig 1.Ruth & Gehrig ⚾ 🇺🇲
No they're not, but Judge and Soto also don't have the pitching those guys had..but I still agree with you my friend..oh, and you forgot Mantle and Maris (at least in '61) lol..take care and enjoy the rest of the season my friend..Peace bro ✌️⚾
As far as talent I do think this is the best duo in sports. All time its a thought provoking idea
Come on guys relying on rizzo?
We are relying on Rizzo to return and be “league average” or one could also say…better than DJ or Rice.
That is all.
Dodge Ball!
You can’t be serious 🧐
You never heard of Ruth and Gherig. Look at their 1927 stats. Please, get a clue before you open your mouth.
If you think we don’t know who Ruth and Gehrig are idk what to tell ya
Dodgeball
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
nah number 11 the sheff and his bat was the greatest duo ever.
Dodge Ball.
Dodgeball
