Best base-stealer we've had, the kind who creates his own runs, since Rickey Henderson. I'm not saying he's Rickey who was one of the all-time greats, but his game is similar. He even hits for some power like RH too.

Hey Guys! I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL because you speak the TRUTH, and your take on most issues regarding the Yankees are almost ALWAYS on point, but I gotta say that you (and many other channels) can't keep saying that "ALL teams this year have flaws". While it's true that the "best" teams this year have more flaws and weaknesses than usual, many of them, at this point in the season, are fundamentally, STILL playing a BETTER brand of baseball than the Yankees are right now. The two teams playing the best are the Dodgers and the Astros. I hate to say it, but the Yankees' biggest competition in the A.L. is gonna come from the Astros, not the Orioles. The Astros are a fundamentally sound team, and THEY DON'T BEAT THEMSELVES, the way the Yankees do. I know alot can change between now and October, but as it stands today, the Astros would EASILY beat the Yankees in a 5 or 7 game series, regardless of who has home field advantage. I am a long-time Yankees Fan, but until the Yankees improve their overall performance on offense, defense, pitching, baserunning, manager's decision-making, etc., I think the Astros would win. 🙁👎

Look, I remember years ago when the Dodgers had a nothing to speak of lineup of basically contact
hitters but won constantly because of exceptional pitching in the starter and reliever department.
Don't know why other teams don't follow that formula and especially when you realize pitching is 75%
    plus of the game.

    MAILBAG
Jake and Gary, thank you for the data driven insights and passion you both bring to the Pod.
I’ve been a Yankee fan for the last 40 years and have found the last 10 years quite frustrating.
    Here’s my question:
Assuming Hal is uncomfortable in the hot seat and can’t bring himself to make front office changes since he and Brian came up together and have a fraternal relationship would letting Jeter buy in to the ownership fix our issues with management?
Jeter hates Cashman, and he is driven to succeed. Make him president of BB operations, let him bring back Mattingly and the core four to visible positions in coaching/special assistant roles and manage the team differently.
    Cheers
    Dr Jeff

In yesterdays podcast you guys were talking about the Yankees use of rookies. They hurt the progression of their rookies because what do they do usually? They go out and get that over the hill ex star veteran. Money is actually a crutch for the Yankees because they spend it poorly rather than putting trust in a rookie. Josh Donaldsons name sells more seats then Oswald peraza

I was not super excited about getting Jazz, I thought it was an ok move. But if this is the real Jazz I love that move and I was a big Agustin Ramirez fan. The Yankees need the speed, energy and hustle Jazz brings. If he stays at 3rd his defense will improve or if Torres leaves which I expect he can move back to 2nd and if the Yankees don’t pick up a 3rd baseman in the off season Cabrera or Berti can handle it until a better option comes along.

Division winners or not, I’m pumped for postseason baseball. This lineup has so many players that can impact a game when healthy. If we add in Dominguez this team can go on a deep run. It will come down to the rotation and bullpen.

Hi gentlemen, fantastic show as always..MAILBAG: OKAY, I'M NOT FEELING VERY GOOD GOING INTO THE POSTSEASON WITH THIS ROTATION, I THINK THEY'RE A LITTLE TIRED AT THIS POINT, EXCEPT MAYBE FOR COLE OF COURSE, SO THAT'S MAKING ME NERVOUS..BUT MY QUESTION IS THIS, DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT RIZZO CAN KEEP UP THIS AMAZING PLAY, OR DO YOU THINK IT'S JUST BEING ALL " JAZZED " UP FROM COMING BACK FROM INJURY?..ALSO, WHAT YOU GUYS WERE TALKING ABOUT, NOT BEING ABLE TO GIVE SOTO A DAY OFF AT THE MOMENT..WELL WE COULD HAVE IF CASHMAN WOULD'VE CALLED UP DOMINGUEZ, IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS..THANK YOU GENTLEMEN, MUCH APPRECIATED..I agree with you Jake, I think Jazz is going to be a surprise in the postseason, he's been amazing!..I really hope Rizzo stays hot, because Judge and Soto have cooled off a bit..I hope you guys have a great day and we're finally looking at a series win come tomorrow morning..greatest and SMARTEST Baseball show on the net, of course..oh, one last thing, I don't know if I'd give Cashman that much credit for getting Jazz, only because, everyone was screaming to get Jazz, and I think Cashman would've gotten killed in the media if he let Jazz go to a rival, and is playing this well..he didn't really have a choice imo..Goodnight my friends ✌️🔥💯⚾

47:27 definitely agree (besides Houston) Baseball quality for all teams seems down this year, not sure if the pitching is just taking over but even the defense and baserunning around baseball is bad. Baseball IQ might be dropping

The Yankees and Michael Kay have literally said THE reason they didn’t call up Dominguez is because verdugo is hitting. That’s EXACTLY why I said verdugo getting hot was a bad thing. It gives them an excuse. You can say it didn’t matter and you disagree but that’s a lazy take. Because it makes it soooooo much easier for the Yankees to leave Dominguez in the minors, they have an excuse now. Even if it’s a lie. If verdugo didn’t go on this baby hot streak, the Yankees would have no excuse not to call up Dominguez. Now they do have an excuse, a pathetic excuse, but an excuse. And they’re using it.

  • @Nickypecs
    @Nickypecs 16 дней назад +2

Double comment but it annoys me that they are holding back Dominguez for another week. He’s still young and yes he’s a star but one more week of getting used to mlb level pitching before the playoffs, is huge. These pencil pushing analysts don’t realize human beings are not computers and hot/cold and confidence matters
