Nowhere near 1m50 lol! Biggest hedge probably 1m10?? Not really too sure though on average the jumps are around 1m but some are bigger some are smaller. Other hunts might have bigger jumps just depends on the hunt and what country you cross :) x

Hunt season will be over by then I'm afraid. How long are you here for? There are places where you can hire horses for hunts but they are quite expensive so depends on how much you want to spend lol 😊

WHERE are the hounds? For you to be moving at such a nice clip, they should be on the scent and baying like crazy? Or are Bloodhounds different from Foxhounds? Very interesting. I love the wind in the mic, it adds a lot to the "being there" vibe. Though nothing can completely capture that thrill! The "jump, no-jump" option is grand. It invites more people, and also allows the rider to give the jumping horse a break, should he not quite be at the supreme level of fitness. That must prevent a lot of fatigue related falls.
It's a man made trail so the hounds have to do much less searching and sniffing etc (they're not trained to follow fox scents btw!) which means that they're faster than fox hunts. (blood hounds also have better noses afaik.)

If you've never done one before with him I would go on a fun ride first. No pressure of hunt rules. Give him a calmer before if necessary. I give Carrie magnesium in her feed 3 days before a hunt/teamchase and a scoop of super so calm on the morning! What did your riding instructor say about it? X

I hate it when I go to a group riding event or even a group trail ride and me and my little 13.3 hand pony are towered over. It could just be me but what I hate most is when people will get right next to us sit up real tall and look down at me idk could just be me Love your vids btw
It’s actually just as encouragement for the jump and to signal when to take off when there’s a bit of a dodgy stride haha. The people that care are very gentle, like in this video. It’s more for the sound and the cue to jump

A horse won’t jump if it doesn’t want to, it’s a big strong animal stronger than its rider and can refuse to jump if it wants. Why are these horses jumping? Because they want to and enjoy it.

Alot of hunts do "green" days for young/less confident riders and young horses. Normally at the beginning and at the very end of the season :)
