Congrats to Paul Jubb. A very rare breed considering he’s from up north of the UK where the chances of becoming a pro tennis player a slim to none with lack of infrastructure and tournaments from the LTA 🙃
@@diegosotomiranda4107 LTA Likes to follow the north south divide as to where the south gets everything and north nothing. No tournaments even junior ones up north unless you count Scotland in which case it’s just as far to travel to Scotland as it is to London. Also I agree with you other countries have it harder. I’d know I’m polish myself. The men’s tennis tournaments are 3 challengers and less than 10 futures tournaments for the year. The women had a WTA 250 but it was crapped as it was expensive. Now we have a 125 challenger a W75/50 and a couple of W15s and W35s. We have 2 tennis centres in The whole country that have hard courts, the rest is clay and we have a couple of private grass courts. The fact that poland has players like Hubi and Iga with those conditions is astounding.

I grew up playing juniors in Florida and saw this guy at some tournaments. He has a good attitude. He’s really passionate about tennis and he’s fun to watch.

I think ofner has the chance to win this tournament. As a Greek i hope really tsitsipas will go the final on Wimbledon and win it because he deserves 1 grand slam but on grass he is not that good but we will see
He was in the Wimby final as a junior so grass definitely suits his game style somewhat. But he's not the greatest mover and doesn't really believe he belongs at the top.
You did good Benjamin! But Hijikata has game; could still be recuperating from that Korda match last tournament. BTW, not that he cares, but I like this shirt much better (Ben's) than the sleeveless one, material though, MEH! Lol.
Shelton went from 96 to 15 in one season, so it all depends on results in the remaining Slams & other big tournaments. Menslayer might still be a hair too young for T20 just yet, but we'll see.
I saw him play Gael and he told him at the net (Mensik won) that he used to watch him play on TV. His upside is VERY good. I just hope he stays healthy. I don't know what it is with these young ones getting injured so often this early. I don't like it! 🫣
@@godz4ever404 The game is more intense than ever before. Bigger serving and heavier, faster, deeper groundies. It's a lot on the serving arm & landing leg. More knee and back issues cropping up as well.
@@got2bjosh Good points! But they all need to have good/great physio peeps on their teams and know when to say when! They do NOT need to play every week in and week out. That's too much. They're my escape for a few hours in the day. 😁🎾💞
FINALLY! This is the best Sheltonnage has played since his win over MyHatch in Madrid. 6-4 6-0 in 67 mins & into the QFs. Bento absolutely needed to play better in MyOrca to make something of the grass ahead of Wimby. The short grass swing simply doesn't allow for sustained flopping. Benji responded maturely to Rinky Dinky putting pressure on his serve in three crucial games across the match, but really, after that 6th game in the 1st set, Shellacked raised his level & didn't look back. Benti returned SO well, didn't paint lines or press on his shots like a stubborn fool. Really took care to protect his service games. Won the both first strike tennis & longer rallies, came to net more, & won the match off a drop volley respected by a kiss from the net in his favor. Overall, it's as if Belton heard Simon & Robbie discussing his poor returning stats (around 32%) & kicked it up a notch. Bad news: Based on Sackmann's data, Beneath won't be able top reach Top10 until his return percentage reaches above 35%. Good news: Shelty's sophomore season is inching closer to a win loss record of 60%.
The line call at 2:20 is absolutely pathetic & sums up the standard of the line judges these days . The ball was about 3 inches out !!! Thankfully it didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things
I read comments saying that players like Mensik for example, will be top 10 or top 20. Gentlemen, in these tournaments the best top 30 don't play (maybe Shelton) so let's go slowly to give titles to players who are good but who have bread to eat to get at least in the top 20
Menslayer is quite young, has big weapons, an all court game, demonstrated mental resiliency, and has adapted to grass remarkably quickly. It's not outlandish to see how he & Shelton can become T10 players. The holes at the top will only continue to grow as certain players age out of their prime.
When I watched the full match, I didn't see him complain about anything major per se. There was a moment where he just wanted confirmation if Rinky's ball was on the line. It was in. Also, the grass tournaments operated by the AELC have been using auto clocks that give players less time between points. Sometimes they feel rushed. Carlost complained about it at Queen's.
they are super skilled and talented but they both lack mental consistency match after match. so they lose to players that may be less talented, but can keep their concentration for longer.
Fognini was too short, how many under 1.80 do you find in the top 30? That being said, he's a clay guy and he found himself in Nadal's era. By the way he still managed to win a 1000 and joined the top 10 for a while.
