Welcome to Wuhan lol. Been lurking here for a while and you finally made it to my hometown. From what I can see, you are basically sticking to line 4, which isn't as busy. Try line 1/2 or certain sections of 7/8 and head over to hankou. I see that you are sticking to the old town areas, which is quite expansive and pretty chill. Head over to Optics Valley--that's where most jobs and companies are.

I live in a city with a total population of 7,462,135 inhabitants(offical statistics) and it is kind same, not that much ppl taking metro, and I am not quite sure about the rush hour though.
I think one reason is that citys like Wuhan is more manufacture driven where most of the time ppl will be stay in the factory. But Shanghai/Beijing are more service driven, which is a big difference.

Lychee is a rare fruit only available for 2 months in southern China. The rest of the world only eats canned or frozen lychee. Japanese are about Lychee but they don’t have it. Some years ago I brought some Lychee to a family in Japan. I wasn’t aware that fruit were not allowed to be brought in but custom didn’t search my hand carry. The family was exhilarated for a week. The restaurant I would recommand to you is 蔡林记(Cai Lin Ji). They have the habit for eating breakfast while going to work/school, even with soup in their noodles.
