Harvesting my first batch of meat birds this weekend. My chicken plucker was delivered yesterday. Unfortunately I tested positive for covid & strep yesterday. We have 49 birds to process so hoping that Im better by this weekend. Thanks for the great content. Always love watching your videos!
Oh no! Hope you feel better and good luck with the butchering!

The chicken pucker is definitely the way to go, if you can afford one. Great video, thanks for sharing it with us. God Bless you and your family!
I would agree! Thanks for watching!
Hi, I was wondering if you still need to boil them before you put them in the chicken plucker? And do you need to sterilize the chicken plucker before you use it? Great video, and I wish you a good outcome for your pregnancy. God Bless.
It's not boilng, just diping in the water for a scald. The scalding is needed to loosen the feathers from the skin. You end up skinning the chiken if you do not scald first. The feathers are VERY well attached.
Briefly boil, or scald as someone else mentioned. It's literally dipping them in boiling water for 5 seconds, maybe less
Yes you still need to scald them.
WE have this plucker and love it! we just processed 40 chickens this week. Sometimes if you place more than one bird at a time they wont get stuck..
Thank you for that! The others did fine, it was just that one but next time I'll try more than one and see how it goes!
Hope ur not one of those that crys over dog n cat meat

I did a homemade plucker that works very well. About the head cut: try cervicale dislocati in, Is the same with no Blood spreading around. Very good Channel.
My wife is also 6 months pregnant. Congratulations!
I subscribed to your channel after I watched your video on culling the two roosters. We culled 4 roosters because we hatched too many and they were causing a lot of stress on the hens.
Thank you!!
Getting that hen to rooster ratio is super important! Thanks for watching!

Congratulations ! Love the video !! Helped me understand the difference a lot Thank you 🙏🏽
Glad it helped!
Hi. This is Melissa. Congratulations on pregnancy. I am a city girl, and found this video very cool and interesting. Hugs
I need to show the killing cone thingy to my mom. She does this still with an axe. And scalding with regular boiling water in a bucket and plucking with ones hands. Disecting used to be my job, so I can do that in less than 10 min per chicken...
Yeah the gutting part takes less time than plucking for sure! It's definitely worth it!
Thank's sharing..more effective use mechine than manual.
Absolutely interesting! I was about to ask, if there are machines to take over the plucking, when I was watching your other video, and this is amazing that you have shown it in this video ! Thank you ! God bless !
Glad it was helpful!
Oi
Kinda like throwing some clothes in the washer lol it worked well.
It did a pretty good job, better than I expected honestly
Good video ! God Bless !!!
Thanks for watching!
Hi, I'm getting chickens in the spring and working on getting the coop setup. Your butchering video last year was very good to identify the process. Any tips you have to get started will be a plus as my grandmother had a coop when I was a small boy and I watched my dad dispatch the chickens with a camp hatchet. Looking at straight run heritage birds to separate laying hens from chosen meat birds. BTW: I saw a comparable plucker at vevor for less money, their electric honey equipment was a game changer for my operation. Blessings on the new edition.
Just built a chicken plucker from a older washing machine.bought parts on line ,works great even on my turkeys ,I am suppling all our neighbors with chicken and turkey eggs.😎
Great idea appreciated
Thanks for watching!

The last thing you needed to do was show that your pregnant. Your face has changed to reflect the beautiful swell that you’ve currently experiencing.
I don't see the link to the plucker.
It's linked in the products. Should show up right under the video
I am not sure why, but I am pretty sure it isn't showing in any of the links. @@MiniUrbanFarm
@@MiniUrbanFarm it turns out the link shows on mobile phone but not on desktop.
very good video.
Thanks for watching!
