We both stared at each other for 5 seconds, then busted up laughing. Needless to say, Bayle the Dread is now a welcome addition to our family.

You don't need to fight the 2 dragons, they'll handle that themselves so long as they don't notice you. For some reason, they stop being able to hit one another once they see you
Just imagine how epic pov it is for Igon to see some tarnished dude climbing/rolling through mountain and ploughing dragons in their own nest left and right.
I'm torn between Igon in Elden Ring and Ishmael in Limbus Company. Both recent and unique takes on the tale, both done incredibly well. Ishmael has the more in depth story, but Igon has by far the better vibes

Not to mention that as he was dying he was apparently still making the harpoons, just so that he may kill Bayle. The guy crawls up the mountain halfway, legless, while still crafting more weapons for slaughtering that dragon. Then he dies and STILL kills Bayle because he just has that much power driving him forward even in death.
Don't forget that, since he can't get up there to make a summon sign himself, he snaps off one of his own fingers so you can carry it up there and make it for him.

A lord not for gods.. but for men." -Ansbach's Last words, when he dies in the Radahn fight.

I love how all the other npc are like "oh miquella the kind were are you" and this man, this giga chad doesn't give a fuck about miquella and is focused on just slaying that fucking dragon, the best npc and the best voice acting CURSE YOU BAYLE!
Not just "that fucking dragon" either. Bayle is LITERAL Dragon Satan in the setting, who rebelled against Placidusax and inflicted horrific wounds on him.

There’s actually quite a few. After we take out two demigods one of which is Radahn we kinda become a big deal frankly. But to have the gigachad Godfrey to not only address you with respect but to even acknowledge your hardships is nothing short of lordly behavior. He’s the founder of your people. That’s like actually having Adam the father of man appear before you and tell you that you are a good man and you are strong before giving you a ten peice combo and a power bomb. It’s a compliment that would be rude to take lightly. But you have Miquilla who acknowledges you as the champion of the festival. Pretty much anyone you help speaks on just how reliable you are. Really the only ones who think lowly of the tarnished are racist or upper echelon snobs.

I love how Igon stole the show so thoroughly that no one gives a shit about Bayle individually unless it involves Igon memes. Imagine being a giant dragonlord who grievously wounded Placidusaax...only for no one to care in the slightest because of how entertainingly over-the-top a hyper salty paraplegic's ranting is.
This is Igon's greatest victory. He couldnt defeat Bayle but he stole his legacy. When we think of Bayle we think instead of Igon screaming like a crazed berserker. Its like with the Iron Golem and Tarkus but even more impressive. Bayle is a hard boss but this mighty dragon is now nothing more than meme, forever doomed to live in the shadow of the madlad that is Igon.
To be fair, Bayle is pretty basic on his own. Really cool design, decent enough fight, but like… I fought Midir. Dragon Fights have yet to be better than that one so far lol
Bayle must have been like the dragon equivalent of Vyke during that age of the dragonlord. There's probably a whole story and history there that we only have the smallest bits and pieces of. But yeah, Igon totally steals the show
I just love how his VA goes all out while the dude himself is just hitting air with a dragon incantation, and if he wants to feel useful he shoots off his bow every now and then
@@MamaTrixxieAsmr i dunno man, he was pretty busted in my fight honestly. Maybe i just got real lucky, but Bayle kept focused on Igon most of the fight and basically every incant Connected and every harpoon was a Headshot. The damage was about 50/50 split between me and our boi.

his dragon incantations are preaty solid though, and in general much he's more fun than simply trivialising the fight, most impacfull summon in my opinion

It's badass how Igon starts talk shit immediately after being summoned and how fast he responded you from the sign. Madlad waited for this very moment to curse Bayle and helped us kill this foul dragon.
What's so peak about Igon is the fact that he's basically just a normal dude. He was born into a terrible situation and was forced to scavenge to survive. Then he found respite in dragon communion, only for Bayle to immediate screw him and ruining what little hope he had. So this basically normal guy is dead set on taking revenge against the legendary ancient dragon that could've taken down the King of Dragons if not for the Dragon God, and he manages to do it with the help of the player. This guy could've soloed a god if he wanted to.
Exactly -- this is a genuinely well told story of revenge. At first when I heard his lines, I wasn't sure why he was so mad at Bayle (I assumed something big must've went down because of how eager he was for you to summon him) and when you learn about Bayle and Placidusax' interactions.. it all makes sense What a phenomenal little storyline

Had his previous fight with Bayle not traumatize him, he would be raring to go for a round two without resorting to being summoned.

Everything surrounding Igon and Bayle has been phenomenally done. Bayle in particular became my favourite dragon boss. Even just looking at him as a boss (without the dragon component being mixed in) I think he's one of the greatest, up there with Isshin, Gael, Friede, etc.
Too bad I messed up his questline by accidentally killing bayle before the 2 drakes on the jagged peak. Once I did kill them he was just dead on the side of the road.

I was kinda surprised in DLC, cause when you play main game, everyone telling you're a trash (except Malenia and Godfri probably). NPCs and even Messmer in DLC showed some respect to a tarnished warrior.
This is probably one of my favorite videos of all time. The original blood + thunder meme is one of my all time favorites, and after playing the DLC and fighting Bayle i started to think about how much Igon is literally just Ahab and Bayle is his white whale. This shit scratches so many specific itches for me it’s insane, my autism has been satiated. Thank you so much for making this.

That last part of Tarnished being dead while Igon is standing there is sooo damn accurate. Literally my ng7 Bayle experience. Peak boss, peak npc and peak dlc overall though.
Most NPC summons feel like a friend, or provide cool dialogue in the fight that adds some additional story. But Igon makes you feel like a true drake warrior and gets you absolutely HYPED for the battle. May Bayle haunt him no longer, and may the voice actor have his salary doubled
Spot on -- I think so far the best NPC summon moments have been Siegward in DS3 vs Yhorm (although he just kinda walks in there as opposed to summoning him) and Igon vs Bayle. So much storytelling in just a few lines, and in the case of Igon, an actual hype-man out there not only to motivate you, but also to destroy his sworn enemy

I was so excited going through the Jagged Peak and seeing what's gonna happen -- the area itself was one of the most cinematic FS experiences (imo) with all the drakes fighting, lighting coming down, the fog obscuring everything below the peak -- and then Igon to top it all of. it was just perfect all around for me. Guys, the reason why Igon is so awesome is because he’s basically just Captain Ahab. How a Japanese guy knows about peak 19th century American literature is beyond me. And before you say this is just fan theory, his game file actually says “Dragon Communion Ahab.”
I was about to put him out of his misery until I decided I’d come back to him whenever I found whatever it was I needed to progress his quest. Now imagine me, someone who has their character role play as a dragon slayer he’ll bent on slaying all dragons have this guy show up later to tell me I’m cool and that he wants to kill THE dragon. That moment I knew Igon was my favorite NPC in the whole game and I made sure to finish Bayle using Placidux’s laser attack to avenge the dragon I respected most (my favorite base game boss)
Hell yeah dude! I love it whenever people roleplay certain character types. Igon is just great overall too -- honestly might be my new favourite FS npc :)

I liked how much Bayle and Igon mirrored each other both are lower socially speaking with bayle being a drake not a dragon and igon being low born as well. And both are so scarred by the time of their fight that they both can only fight due to summoning their own souls to propel them. igon needs this more so but bayle does summon extra wings. When i first saw igon i had no clue he was gonna be so great.
I absolutely love this little description -- you're spot on, my jaw was dropped when I saw Bayle's phase 2 transformation -- it still remains as one of my favourite of all time. As for Igon, yep -- I didn't think much of him when I first saw him out in the open, then at the foot of the jagged peak, everything changed and that's when the build up started. And what a pay off it had.
Myself, my mimic, and Igoat jumped that bastard Bayle into oblivion. Igon survived the fight against the final lord of the dragons, to which we revered together in a rainfall of blood which so recently was terrifying lightning. May his soul rest.

Thiollier, Ansbach, and Igon, are by far the best things about the DLC, and from home, Boc, Latenna, Boggart, Rya, Alexander, Roderika, Sellen, Millicent, and Hewg, they are the only ones who see you as a true comrade and confidant. Those twelve have faith in you, and that makes the struggle one worth fighting for.
I heard it took him around 8 hours to record all of his line and Miyazaki himself was in there with him directing the retakes before it was *truly perfect* Miyazaki is the god king emperor, long may he cook
Can we take a second to appreciate the fact that Igon, despite being clearly driven by hatred and vengeance, still has the heart and sanity to let it swallow him completely, as he recognizes you as a trusted friend and comrade? Igon literally thinks we’re one of the coolest guys around, we got to live up to that.

I love how Igon stole the show so thoroughly that no one gives a shit about Bayle individually unless it involves Igon memes. Imagine being a giant dragonlord who grievously wounded Placidusaax...only for no one to care in the slightest because of how entertainingly over-the-top a hyper salty paraplegic's ranting is.
This is Igon's greatest victory. He couldnt defeat Bayle but he stole his legacy. When we think of Bayle we think instead of Igon screaming like a crazed berserker. Its like with the Iron Golem and Tarkus but even more impressive. Bayle is a hard boss but this mighty dragon is now nothing more than meme, forever doomed to live in the shadow of the madlad that is Igon.
That's how you know you've made a badass character. Seriously, Igon's just *the man*
To be fair, Bayle is pretty basic on his own. Really cool design, decent enough fight, but like… I fought Midir. Dragon Fights have yet to be better than that one so far lol

Bayle must have been like the dragon equivalent of Vyke during that age of the dragonlord. There's probably a whole story and history there that we only have the smallest bits and pieces of.

@@MamaTrixxieAsmr i dunno man, he was pretty busted in my fight honestly. Maybe i just got real lucky, but Bayle kept focused on Igon most of the fight and basically every incant Connected and every harpoon was a Headshot. The damage was about 50/50 split between me and our boi.
He is very good at helping you stagger the boss, with his bow. Easily can pull of 2 or 3 times.
@datzfatz2368 maybe I just got lucky too cause Igon was the goat against Bayle. Beat him first try (the first time I got the summon off). Up until then I'd just been feeding Bayle small snacks for 2 hours.
his dragon incantations are preaty solid though, and in general much he's more fun than simply trivialising the fight, most impacfull summon in my opinion

What's so peak about Igon is the fact that he's basically just a normal dude.
He was born into a terrible situation and was forced to scavenge to survive. Then he found respite in dragon communion, only for Bayle to immediate screw him and ruining what little hope he had. So this basically normal guy is dead set on taking revenge against the legendary ancient dragon that could've taken down the King of Dragons if not for the Dragon God, and he manages to do it with the help of the player.
This guy could've soloed a god if he wanted to.
Exactly -- this is a genuinely well told story of revenge. At first when I heard his lines, I wasn't sure why he was so mad at Bayle (I assumed something big must've went down because of how eager he was for you to summon him) and when you learn about Bayle and Placidusax' interactions.. it all makes sense

The sheer emotion in the voice acting, the song, the visuals, i usually HATE dragon fights but man this bayle fight was absolute PEAK

Bayle feels to me like the Gael of dragon fights. Nothing comes close, aside maybe midir.
Everything surrounding Igon and Bayle has been phenomenally done. Bayle in particular became my favourite dragon boss. Even just looking at him as a boss (without the dragon component being mixed in) I think he's one of the greatest, up there with Isshin, Gael, Friede, etc.

I was kinda surprised in DLC, cause when you play main game, everyone telling you're a trash (except Malenia and Godfri probably). NPCs and even Messmer in DLC showed some respect to a tarnished warrior.
This is probably one of my favorite videos of all time. The original blood + thunder meme is one of my all time favorites, and after playing the DLC and fighting Bayle i started to think about how much Igon is literally just Ahab and Bayle is his white whale. Most NPC summons feel like a friend, or provide cool dialogue in the fight that adds some additional story. But Igon makes you feel like a true drake warrior and gets you absolutely HYPED for the battle. May Bayle haunt him no longer, and may the voice actor have his salary doubled
Spot on -- I think so far the best NPC summon moments have been Siegward in DS3 vs Yhorm (although he just kinda walks in there as opposed to summoning him) and Igon vs Bayle. So much storytelling in just a few lines, and in the case of Igon, an actual hype-man out there not only to motivate you, but also to destroy his sworn enemy

I was about to put him out of his misery until I decided I’d come back to him whenever I found whatever it was I needed to progress his quest. Now imagine me, someone who has their character role play as a dragon slayer he’ll bent on slaying all dragons have this guy show up later to tell me I’m cool and that he wants to kill THE dragon. That moment I knew Igon was my favorite NPC in the whole game and I made sure to finish Bayle using Placidux’s laser attack to avenge the dragon I respected most (my favorite base game boss)

I liked how much Bayle and Igon mirrored each other both are lower socially speaking with bayle being a drake not a dragon and igon being low born as well. And both are so scarred by the time of their fight that they both can only fight due to summoning their own souls to propel them. igon needs this more so but bayle does summon extra wings. When i first saw igon i had no clue he was gonna be so great.
I absolutely love this little description -- you're spot on, my jaw was dropped when I saw Bayle's phase 2 transformation -- it still remains as one of my favourite of all time. As for Igon, yep -- I didn't think much of him when I first saw him out in the open, then at the foot of the jagged peak, everything changed and that's when the build up started. And what a pay off it had.
Myself, my mimic, and Igoat jumped that bastard Bayle into oblivion. Igon survived the fight against the final lord of the dragons, to which we revered together in a rainfall of blood which so recently was terrifying lightning. May his soul rest.
