I get excited every time I get notified that you have a new video out. Stunning work as usual. I love how you deal with mistakes and the result is just great. Inspirational work.
Very nice piece of furniture Joey I do like the work you do and I always pick up something new .I am predominantly a wood turner but the boss sometimes want something for her office or studio .So I do get out the hammer and nails sometimes Thank you keep it up Mate
Very beautiful build and it’s amazing to be able to work that wood. I can’t believe someone would choose those handles though. It makes it look like your run of the mill dressers from the 90’s. To the unknowing eye it’s not to distinguishable. I’m not detracting from your work at all by saying that, your an amazing craftsman who makes my work look like child’s play. I’m just like man wth with the handles lol. It’s like putting steel wheels on a Ferrari. 😂
Hey Joey, did my joinery app in Putaruru in the 70s . Wow we used to have rimu, totara and kauri, for windows and doors. Sadly most of the beautiful grained timber got painted, although l did some beautiful furniture, very similar to your tallboys. No fancy metal drawer slides those days aye.
Another work of art Joey! Absolutely beautiful, your craftsmanship shows through the entire piece. Great video also, just love watching you build, truly inspirational.
Just about to make a chest of drawers from reclaimed chest nut I’m going to steal some of the details great work lovely work from oxford England 🏴
Turned out good as, going to have a look at that wipe on Min Wax poly, looks really nice. I remember using heart Rimu in the late 90's for kitchen doors, we used to burn or throw away anything with a knot or sap... man if I could go back...
That wood resembles the sabino soft wood here in southern Mexico. It is a tree that grows right on the banks of rivers, enormous trees. Illegal to fell too.
Nice. I quite liked the drawer front edge detail created by a panel raising bit. Creates a bit of depth along with a smooth transition between drawer front and carcass. 👍
Great work as always. Such a shame the client wanted that hardware and the angle work on the drawer front and top. I'm actually doing a rimu table right now. Not worked with it before and finishing it with Danish because I thought it would get the colour better but your poly has really brought out the grain nicely.
Hey Joey just a suggestion, I forgot to say there could be an issue gluing base xgrain to sides. If you attach the base to a subframe (frame and panel without the panel) and attach subframe to allow for float, you won’t have that issue it’s all long grain gluing. Also eliminates need for rabbet. Apologize if I missed something it looked like that’s what you did. Cheers.
Great as Usual Joey. Looks like a very nice wood to work, shame it's all but gone. My Tip for the day.. Super glue and sawdust. I normally use the standard PVA, but will try your trick next time I need to ;D
very nice thanks for sharing. was curious by gluing all four corners of the web frame and also the web frame to the carcass how will this react to the expansion and contraction of the carcass during seasonal changes.
Yea I know it's not wonderful, hence a small amount of glue. My money is on it not going too far. But we will see. Worse case is I think that the plinth will fall off.
How could you add a stop so the drawer doesn't come out all the way on a regular basis but be easily removed to fully take the drawer out if needed. Thanks for another great build video.
Another flawless build Joey! But I'm curious as to why you didn't clear out the dovetails for the drawer dividers with the router like you did the case?
How much does it cost to get one of these built? Maybe an all Swamp Ash, Cedar, California Redwood, or even Brazilian Ipa. Also to have total drawer extenders added to the inside of the drawers in order to pull the drawers all the way out????
Fantastic pieces with beautiful joinery and it's execution. I wonder how long did it take you to finish them? I made a tea box with 24 drawers (half blind dts) and it took me 2 months to finish.
Didn’t know you Changed from Kingpost to Joey Chalk.I thought you kicked me off the channel for not watching in a while. As always love the power and hand tool mix.Merry Christmas Pal.
Awesome job Joey great craftsmanship that wood looks absolutely amazing. One question how come you didn't put any finish on the inside and outside of the draws?
no the finish dose not make wood last longer. on the sides of drawers it just gets worn away and can add to jamming problems. its just not necessary and traditionally is almost never done.
really nice project and a great video. Is anyone else finding a lot of it is out of focus slightly? watching on full screen at 720 and it's looking a bit blurry in parts
Добрый день !с удовольствием смотрю каждое ваше видио ,у самого столярная мастерская ,часто задоюсь вопросом вы не боитесь что дерево лопнет со временем или поведёт при переклейке большими широкими частями ?или есть секрет ?
Nice work... 🤗 just found your channel... time to raid the archivez... 😏 Are a tallboy & a chest of drawers really the same thing ?? 🙁 Gotta love that workshop... what blade do u use in the tablesaw ?

Thank you
Love seeing you use the plane and the scrapers - leaves such a great finish.
Great looking build.
Excellent dresser build. Love the look of the dowels on the draw sides!
Great work as always Joey. I really like seeing the way you go about these builds. Always something to learn
Beautiful timber and fantastic work as always. I really enjoy watching your videos.

what a beautiful product that will last for many, many years. Great work and care of the timber
Nice work Joey.Dovetails and dominoes!! - great to see such a range of skills on show.
Never heard of Rimu before but it looks very good .
Chris
The dowels are a very attractive alternative to the usual drawer front joinery. Nice
Awesome job Joey, the figure and colors in this wood is incredible and the drawers gotta love the perfect fit. Incredible craftsmanship my friend.
Thank you

agreed! superb craftsmanship nonetheless.
agree. i was thinking, "thats so beautiful" until the handles went on.
I love it how joey is telling us about his mistakes, and often its happens with the glue up 😄👍

Great build. Good use of that kind of timber.
Awesome work. Thanks for sharing the build.
Love your use of both machine and hand tools.
I use a similar approach to my woodworking (where warranted).
Keep up the good work!
never heard of rimu , but man they turnout beautifully luv the attention to details so much to learn thumbs up
really nice job always enjoy your videos thanks for sharing your talents
Exceptional job, again. Thank you for taking the time to share the project!
That is some fantastic work. I like the drawer joinery with dowels because it gives it a unique look compared to dovetails.
Always enjoy your builds Joey. You inspire a lot of us "normal" guys :p
Nice blend of power and hand tool usage

Nice work! I like the dovetail work on the front of the dust frames.
It's been a while since i saw you make something of the sort. extraordinary, congratulations!
A beautiful pair of Dressers Joey, just think they’ll be passed down from one generation to another as cherished heirlooms.
Youve Gotta Be Kidding Me !!!! It's A Dam Piece Of Art !!! Major Thumbs Up !!!
I realize I am kinda off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream new movies online ?
@Braylon Dominick I would suggest flixzone. Just google for it =)
Another great build keep up the great work.
Great job. Always nice to see a pro at work. Btw, congrats on the little one. Hope you get some rest.

Wow! That looks like a very high-end piece. Well done.
Thank you
Very helpful. Looks awesome. Great Job. Thanks For Making Videos 😁

I'm actually doing a rimu table right now. Not worked with it before and finishing it with Danish because I thought it would get the colour better but your poly has really brought out the grain nicely.
Very beautiful this work, like everyone else!
Nice work. I love it when you use solid timber
Me too !

Beauty wood, nice work. Epic piece.
There's not a lot of people who would use dovetails to join everything. It's becoming a dying art. Well done. Beautiful work.
Thanks

Salut toujours un super boulot magnifique toujours un plaisir de regarder tes vidéos
Beautiful job Joey!
Beautiful! You kick ass Joey.
Excellent. Hate the pulls, but I certain the client loves them.
How could you add a stop so the drawer doesn't come out all the way on a regular basis but be easily removed to fully take the drawer out if needed. Thanks for another great build video.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful as always.
Really nicely done!
Absolute quality ...and I picked up a few tips along the way. Cheers!
Awesome build, mate 👍
They look a million bucks 👌
Nice work as always Joe
Beautiful timbers , great craftsmanship , awesome video brother !! +1 here 😎
Beautiful job
They look awsome!
Great job Joey !
Gorgeous work as always, Joey. Will the Rimu oxidize and darken over time, the way American cherry does?
Nice to see another video from you. Any word on where I can purchase a KingPost Timberworks zip up yet?
Another flawless build Joey! But I'm curious as to why you didn't clear out the dovetails for the drawer dividers with the router like you did the case?
Ha so am I now you mention it!
Lovely video!
love your work!
Thumbs up! Only having one change is always a bit scary, no matter what it is.
Nice job!
Fantastic. I really need to get some good chisels...
your usual poetry in wood Joey, top job. . . . .what is the story with Remu then ? not heard of it here in the UK
It's in the pine family sometimes called red pine. Was close to being wiped out and now only plantation Rimu is available.
How much does it cost to get one of these built? Maybe an all Swamp Ash, Cedar, California Redwood, or even Brazilian Ipa. Also to have total drawer extenders added to the inside of the drawers in order to pull the drawers all the way out????
It depends a lot on timber type and spec of the unit . In this case the client had all the timber. I think I charged 5k for both.
@@KingPostTimberWorks Holy God!!!!!!! 5K? Well that's way out of my range. I'm on SSI and suffering from Stage 4 Inoperable Double Lung Cancer.
I wish I could apprentice with you for a year!
Wow. Very very nice good job. 👌👌👌👍👍
Awesome job customer must be so thrilled i know i would be
Fantastic pieces with beautiful joinery and it's execution.
I wonder how long did it take you to finish them?
I made a tea box with 24 drawers (half blind dts) and it took me 2 months to finish.
I think this was 2 and a bit weeks. Cheers
@@KingPostTimberWorks Fantastic, you're a skilled craftsman and it shows. I love learning from you. Cheers
Super great job! awesome!

Awesome job Joey great craftsmanship that wood looks absolutely amazing.
One question how come you didn't put any finish on the inside and outside of the draws?
Short answer is it just doesn't need it.
A valid answer 👍😊 but if it had finish on the draws would it make the piece of furniture last a life time longer?
no the finish dose not make wood last longer. on the sides of drawers it just gets worn away and can add to jamming problems. its just not necessary and traditionally is almost never done.
That's great advice thanks Joey it's nice to learn something new every day 😊👍
Like that toolholder on your belt. Where from?
Custom made
fantastic! - beautiful wood!
Well done Joey. Enjoy your builds. How many hours do you think it took you for each one.
Hmm around 30hrs each
Joey that’s you’re best work yet!
a lifting workbench would be helpfull for you mate. Maybe one day ? :) nice work,
How thick material was your side panels?
Beautiful!!! 👌
Very good great job
Amazing 😁😁😁👍👍👍
really nice project and a great video. Is anyone else finding a lot of it is out of focus slightly? watching on full screen at 720 and it's looking a bit blurry in parts
Probably my fault. Trying to focus with dusty everything
Totally fantastic!
Very nice . . . timeless design . . .
Cheers
How deep is the wide and how deep is the drawers?
Nice work
Как всегда: аккуратно, красиво и отлично!!!
Fantastic work as always!
I was wondering what are the dimensions of the pieces?
These are around 900mm wide 1400mm tall and 450mm deep. Cheers
@@KingPostTimberWorks thanks for that.
