The introduction song titled "Balluha'd Bayauhen" is one of our native songs in our province of IFUGAO (northern part of LUZON, PHILIPPINES). I was overwhelmed when I heard it. Thanks so much for showcasing our beautiful piece of art.
I honestly think that the only problem here is the pacing. They should slow it down with the plot a bit so even the native audience can get to emerse with the ambience and atmopshere. Other than that, as a native, this seems very promising and well-made.
Probably because it's too violent, most local entities that still exist are passive unless provoked, the other more violent entities are either rare or... extinct.
it's really sad we discourage people to watch in Filipino dub when the content is about Philippine folklore just because we have our own biases. we should let the audience choose for themselves. I've never seen other people from other countries do this. personally, I always watch the original or intended language of any movie or series even if it's more difficult to read CC. the dub always adds to the viewing experience. but then again, to each his own. please support this project without canceling the hard work of the people behind it. I'm the same. I feel like the essence gets lost in translation. I'm not sure for others, but Trese was tagalog for me by default. Hopefully, this gets into the mainstream. :D I'm watching all of it the second time around, but this time in English dub just because of Manny Jacinto and the other cast who dubbed this in English. :D

agreed, the music score was captivating especially the score on 2:33 it was kind of euphoric but eerie at the same time. It's so good to my ears and liza's dark narration made it so much better.
Let's not talk about only Liza's voice but the tagalog dub in general. Personally, I think I prefer the tagalog dub more because it feels very natural and authentic adding the deep Tagalog words which hits very different (especially if you understand Filipino and the deep tagalog words that has been used). The "Ako muna ang bantay", dang, it really hits different in Filipino y'all.
What's scarier is that I usually hear this kind of ominous chanting during funerals and post-burial vigils 😨 And I just got home from my grandma's funeral a month ago

Tons of Filipino Voice Actors can do this job 100x better and yet dismissed because their name is not as known as Ms. Liza. Japanese anime studios don't hire famous actresses to voice a character, they hire actual voice actor who they know can give the character justice. Voice Talent industry in the Philippines deserves more.
Most Filipino probably wouldn't appreciate it tho, sadly. Perhaps one of the reasons why our popular shows are so dumbed down are because the majority, and so the source of revenue, prefer them that way. Not consciously, but yeah.
When I see my grandparents watching their Filipino shows, I get so jealous and bitter that Filipinos can’t go a couple minutes without speaking a single English word, unlike Chinese, Japanese, Korean, literally every other language. This show is one incredibly rare instance where they are speaking almost 100% Tagalog which makes it feel more “Filipino” than anything I’ve ever seen dubbed in that language.
It just seemed that those languages youve mentioned have no loanwords but they actually have. It's just they pronounce them differently from english that it become unrecognizable to english speaker's ears. Meanwhile, Filipinos, having mastered some english, pronounce them as they are. That's why it doesn't fit the phonology of whatever PH language they use and it's so distinguishable
I hope that this becomes a success so that our local networks GMA, ABS, and TV5 will actually give time, effort, and money to produce good local animations.
Honestly, this surprised me. I thought I'd prefer the english more since I'm a fan of the comics and since it was written in english, it'd feel more natural to watch it in english dub. But I am feeling the filipino dub more .. maybe because Liza nailed how I pictured Alex would sound like in real life. Will definitely watch both dubs.. i can't wait!!
The komiks is originally written in Filipino/Tagalog. The ones you read are the English release of the komiks which the author published for the international market

I really loved it, I have watched this and finished it yesturday. At every episode, at first you have no idea whats going on, I keep guessing whats gonna happened next but next thing that will happened is just unexpected, its just wow, AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING, waiting for season 2 👍
I just watched the english version and for me, this filipino version is more appealing and gave more justice. Trese on English version sounds off to me while Liza with her deeper and monotone voice actually gives me that mysterious and cool character vibe.
Well, hindi naman talaga maitatanggi na merong paranormal, dapat nga "normal" lang eh kasi nandyan naman talaga sila, people just chose not to accept the things they know little of or chose to be blind on their existence because it would bring them discomfort. We watched Trese I think 3 times.hahaha...We loved and enjoyed all the episodes...In fairness for someone never did dubbing before. Liza did an excellent job ..congrats. we also watched the after dark and listened to the interview...Liza had answered intelligently all the questions with finesse ..bravo...Congrats to all the cast...good job guys...

I watched the first few episodes. Everything’s great and it’s worth watching. However, I don’t know if it’s just me pero parang ang bilis ng bawat scenes. I hope you can give us more emphasis with what is going on in that scene. Give your viewers time to “breathe” or maybe “get into” that moment. Take me into that world because I’m willing to get involved. To me, it felt like everything was just “passing”. There are some great scenes na gusto ko sana mas na emphasize pa gaya nung nakita nila yung multo ng babae sa balete drive. Even the exchange of lines there was fast before I could even get myself involved in that moment. Make us feel more. I don’t intend to criticize your artwork. Baka nga siguro kaartehan ko lang, pero I’m sharing my thoughts so you’ll be able to reach out to wider audience because of the quality of your film. I know your hard work will pay off 🙏🏻
They need constructive criticism, and that's what you did. They need to read your comment cause you are right. Kasi kung tatahimik lang tayo at manonood na lang, iisipin nila okay na yan. Tingnan mo mga teleserye natin, parang di nagiimprove.kasi walang pumupuna.
That's interesting! The pacing was too slow, then it went too fast in the end. No spoilers. I barely recovered with one plot-twist and was quickly subjected to another.
I can't help but to comment, Liza's voice is the perfect choice. may suave, ang lakas ng dating, bagay sa character, contained emotions. Congrats Liza! Good job. 👍
to say I’m proud is probably an understatement, this clip was only 5 minutes long but it was really good. i have been a fan of liza ever since forevermore + i am impressed w her voice acting. it’s weird but also satisfying to see filipino mythology + our culture being animated, and on Netflix too! i just didn’t grow up seeing much of it as a filipino-american. i can finally relate + understand things in this series bc i grew up hearing these stories from my parents abt these mythical creatures like the white lady, kapre, etc. this project is super cool!

The tagalog dub is pretty decent. Only Liza's dub is disappointing. I know Alex is kinda stoic, but there should be good intonation. Most of the time, Liza sounds like she's just reading the script instead of internalizing her character. the other characters are okay, but the script itself is too formal which made the conversation quite awkward. sana ginawa nilang mas simple yung dialogue para mas natural yung dating. English version is okay, but the tagalog terms feel weird being mixed with english sentences. Japanese dub had the best tone. Story-wise, wala akong masabi. napakaganda.
I agree with you. I hope they took someone who is a native filipino speaker. We really can’t put Lisa at fault here cos she didn’t grow up here and so was not able to adopt the nuances of someone who have spoken the language since childbirth. I hope the casting director had chosen someone better. HalatAng halata yung difference ng delivery ng lines ni Lisa at nung mga other characters who grew up speaking tagalog.

I really loved it, I have watched this and finished it yesturday. At every episode, at first you have no idea whats going on, I keep guessing whats gonna happened next but next thing that will happened is just unexpected, its just wow, AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING, waiting for season 2 👍
I just watched the english version and for me, this filipino version is more appealing and gave more justice. Trese on English version sounds off to me while Liza with her deeper and monotone voice actually gives me that mysterious and cool character vibe.

As a fan of TRESE since i was young,gantong ganto yung naiimagine ko before habang binabasa ko to tapos yung boses kuhang kuha talaga...ang galing lang kasi talaga yung sa imagination ko na boses nakuha ni Liza basta ang galing.tapos yung atmosphere(di ko sure kung tama ang term ko HAHAHAHSH)before while binabasa ko to talagang parehong pareho ngayon ng habang pinapanood ko to basta talaga ang galing👏👏👏👏

I watched the first few episodes. Everything’s great and it’s worth watching. However, I don’t know if it’s just me pero parang ang bilis ng bawat scenes. I hope you can give us more emphasis with what is going on in that scene. Give your viewers time to “breathe” or maybe “get into” that moment. Take me into that world because I’m willing to get involved. To me, it felt like everything was just “passing”.
There are some great scenes na gusto ko sana mas na emphasize pa gaya nung nakita nila yung multo ng babae sa balete drive. Even the exchange of lines there was fast before I could even get myself involved in that moment. Make us feel more.
I don’t intend to criticize your artwork. Baka nga siguro kaartehan ko lang, pero I’m sharing my thoughts so you’ll be able to reach out to wider audience because of the quality of your film. I know your hard work will pay off 🙏🏻

to say I’m proud is probably an understatement, this clip was only 5 minutes long but it was really good. i have been a fan of liza ever since forevermore + i am impressed w her voice acting. it’s weird but also satisfying to see filipino mythology + our culture being animated, and on Netflix too! i just didn’t grow up seeing much of it as a filipino-american. i can finally relate + understand things in this series bc i grew up hearing these stories from my parents abt these mythical creatures like the white lady, kapre, etc. this project is super cool!

Ang ganda ng boses ni Liza.
The tagalog dub is pretty decent. Only Liza's dub is disappointing. I know Alex is kinda stoic, but there should be good intonation. Most of the time, Liza sounds like she's just reading the script instead of internalizing her character. the other characters are okay, but the script itself is too formal which made the conversation quite awkward. sana ginawa nilang mas simple yung dialogue para mas natural yung dating. English version is okay, but the tagalog terms feel weird being mixed with english sentences. Japanese dub had the best tone.
Story-wise, wala akong masabi. napakaganda.

I agree with you. I hope they took someone who is a native filipino speaker. We really can’t put Lisa at fault here cos she didn’t grow up here and so was not able to adopt the nuances of someone who have spoken the language since childbirth. I hope the casting director had chosen someone better. HalatAng halata yung difference ng delivery ng lines ni Lisa at nung mga other characters who grew up speaking tagalog.
Go watch the english one , no one's forcing you to like the tagalog dub tho.
