Nice simple explanation with no waffling.
Thanks
If you do alot of brakes you want to try Permatex Synthetic Brake Lubricant - P/N 24125. It is $24 for an 8oz can, but totally worth it!! A year of hard driving, in the rust belt, and my calipers still slide back n forth like the day I changed my brakes!!
A dab of loctite on the bolts as you're putting them back in! I don't hear that on other videos. Chrysler recommends a dab of medium strength loctite on the brake mounting bolts! I have witnessed calipers that just 'fell' off while the car was being driven,, 35mph! I've always used at least a drop of blue loctite on the bolts!
You forgot to adjust your parking brake, other than that ,I must say this is definitely one of the better videos I've seen, thank you
No I adjusted them but I dis forget to show it. But if someone forgets to adjust them it's not a big deal as they should be self adjusting when you back up and apply the brake.
Omg I feel I need a phone number for you to physically walk through😩
Good video. Just one tiny problem you didn’t show your peeps how to adjust there parking break. We don’t want a low break pedal now do we. 👍 but definitely one of the closer videos of a 100% break job. Good job
Yeah I totally forgot to record that part sadly.
It auto adjusts when you brake in reverse
You saved me a lot of frustration. Thanks
A couple notes.
1 you need to brake kleen inside of brake rotor parking brake hat.
2 really should be torqueing all brake bolts and lug nuts. Novice diy'ers should especially follow these rules.
3 parking brakes should be readjuste when all put together.
4 most important, after you have everything put together, you must pump ypur brake pedal at least 2 or 3 times as the calipers wete completely compressed and as such your first brake application WILL NOT stop ypur car.
It also be adviseable to lubricate the park brake cable andassembly.
Great info buddy. Great video and thanks for sharing. Nice 300 also.
Thanks and thanks for watching, yeah thats the wifes car lol I drive my little hoopty because I put 100 a day on anything I drive.
Thank you so much I have been waiting on this video my guy 😀 super frustrating tryna get these rotors off 🤬
Your welcome, Yeah it kills me how many people do not explain how to back off the emergency brake pads on the inside.
Excellent video great details most appreciated
Great job and thank you for the tutorial!!!
Thanks for watching
Leaning the tire/wheel against the car? Tisk, tisk! Also, when I did the front brakes on my old 2014 300, I could not believe how much torque it took to remove the caliper bracket bolts - they had a ton of thread locker on the bolts from the factory. I had to use a breaker bar & 2' extension. Were yours tough like this? Man, about wrecked my shoulders!
Sounds like someone used a impact to tighten them.
My pin on the caliper has frozen up on my front driver side wheel. I’m ordering another Caliper Bracket in hopes that it would shed some light on how to free the pin so I can continue replacing my brake pads on my 2015 Chrysler 300 limited v6
I always apply a little bit of high temp grease or anti seize to prevent them from seizing up
The inside is a drum, those are shoes not pads
What all did you use ?
I have a Chrysler 300s with 67,000 km on it. Do you think I need to change the rotors at all or just the break pads? I’m not an expert on cars. The most I’ve done is change a tire that’s it, so please excuse my question if it comes across stupid … LOL. I need insight
The only stupid question is the question not asked. If the car has primarily been driven in the city I would say yes you are probably due for a brake job. But thats not something I can judge site unseen. I would recommend having it looked at. When I do pads I always due rotors as most rotors today are so thin they cant be turned on a lathe to be made good. If you dont change the rotors and just do the pads you will get premature wear on your new pads. I know money is tight for a lot of people these days and to that avail if need be you can just do the pads to get by. I hope that helps.
Don't like how you removed parts already before showing. Defeated the whole purpose.
Cant please everyone
U
