I've used the original f38 tripod for years. This new one doesn't warrant an upgrade, but I might pick up just the ball head so that I can use whatever cages and l-brackets I'd like. Thanks for the review!
Thank Vic for this video and being HONEST for disclosing you get this tripod for free. The missing thing is you don't mention any of its DISADVANTAGES. In reality, nothing is perfect.
There is no disadvantages in the product. It’s worked flawlessly for my needs over the last few weeks. As mentioned in the video it’s not cheap so that may be a disadvantage for some
@@VicBarry the disadvantage you didn't mention is that it's head is not replaceable. So the best tripod ever is just useless for video shooting because they didn't bother to include a top column part with a single screw.
Nice review and this certainly looks like a solid tripod. My only gripe is that the max height is 155cm and I'm over 185cm. A lot of these tripods are made too short for me. It would be great if Ulanzi could release a longer center column attachment as an extra accessory bringing it up another 20-40cm. Then I would consider this.
Thanks David! That's a fair point! Given the centre column and how it works, I'm sure an extension, or even a longer centre column is doable! Granted, I'm not an engineer so who know :)
Although now that I think about it a bit more it’s not the centre column, it’s the legs. I reckon an extended centre column may affect the stability of the tripod as a whole. But then again, as I said, I’m no engineer
@@VicBarry right, I just feel like it could be a more practical solution than creating another version with longer legs but that would be better. Two versions, two max heights.
I just got mine. I cannot unlock the plate and remove the small plate provided with the tripod. The unlocking lver is stuck on the lock position. Any advice? Thanks
Oooh, nice tripod. More stuff to tempt me! I finally pushed the button on the Pocket 3. Now that's a sweet little thing. I'll have to go back and rewatch all your videos on it 😃👍❤️
Thanks Frank. Yeah, it’s about small twist on each one. When they’re all together and not extended you can just grab a bunch of them and twist them all in one go and you’re good to go
I find there's a little too much play with the centre column for my liking, even comparing to a very old & cheap tripod I have. Either extended or fully down.

Hey Luke, cheers. The ball head is nice to be fair.

@@VicBarry I agree its price is one of the disadvantages. The other disadvantage is if I use Ulanzi ballhead, its payload is only 5kg/11lb.
@@mauriciolee7349Only 5kg ?
It's a travel tripod, who brings a camera setup over 5kg on a trip ?

No one mentioned about the diameter after folded but I'm curious. Vic can you please share the information for this part?
Ive got Thousands in tripods but everything now is w the falcam system. Looks great. Thank You
Yeah. I’ve made the switch a while back as well to the F38 system and absolutely love it

@@VicBarry Right, it would seem like that should be doable but if they’ll do it at all is another question. Will put in a request.
Definitely worth a request. You’re not the only tall person on the planet 😀

LOL! Best of look with the Osmo Pocket 3! It's EPIC! And yep, lots of vids :)
@@VicBarry Yes, bit of a step up from a GoPro, more handy than a DSLR and lots of things to learn (like how to walk like a ninja!) 🤣
@JauneMacReady all about the ninja walk 🤣🤣🤣🥷
Excellent review, Vic! Am I right in thinking that you have to twist each knob on each leg to loosen and to tighten?
Thanks Frank. Yeah, it’s about small twist on each one. When they’re all together and not extended you can just grab a bunch of them and twist them all in one go and you’re good to go
@@VicBarry Thank you, Vic.
Do you have any update after 3 months of use? Thanks!!
Yeah. Still as good as day one. I use it nearly every day

Looks an amazing tripod but I’m more curious about that new RODE mic you’re sporting there 🤔
Hey. Full video on it here. It’s pretty amazing

Excellent review.
Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it
Thanks for the vid! Do you know if this tripod head is compatible with the PD Clip v3 plate?
As far as I know, that plate is Arca Swiss
Compatible (double check that though) and this tripod is arca swiss compatible so you should be good
Are you going to the tubefest event in Oct Vic?
I’m not mate. You going?
@@VicBarry I'm trying to work out will it be worth it or not.
