    I’ve been trying to figure out a better tripod than the Peak Design travel tripod, the Ulanzi looks pretty good 👀

    Glad you made this video because I was confused what the differences were. I just picked up the Coman light G for $150 and hope it's good enough.

      I think it’s good enough! Just no pan. Solid travel tripod and good price

    Excellent review, just wanted to add that Coman light G has more separated legs when opened, the angles are wider, which means the tripod is more stable. That is why the ulanzi zero is taller when opened.

    I just received the Colman tripod. I have no issues with the lockup on my F38 plates.
    Only downside is the lack of paining, which really limits usability in portrait mode.
    At full price, I think the Ulanzi is the better option even though it’s $100 more … but there was some crazy deals on the Coman for the holidays. I was able to pick one up for $145. It’s awfully hard tripod to beat it at that price.

    • @PaulFeinberg
      @PaulFeinberg  7 месяцев назад

      I know right!!! Crazy deals on that Coman for almost the same thing! My f38 plates fit in there but they were a little loose and I was worried about it being secure. The F38 PD plate I had no issues.

    Amazing comparison video! Today 01/24 the Coman Light G in the white colorway is $60 off and has a redeemable 20% off coupon. Just purchased the whole thing for $100. I have a Peak Design backpack mount so I'm fine w the ball head. But $100! Watched your video then hit "buy now". Thanks!

    As someone with the Ulanzi Zero Y / F38, I would probably go with the Coman..
    The Ulanzi is great, but the Arca plate has a tendency to slip out, resulting in your camera meeting the ground..

    • @PaulFeinberg
      @PaulFeinberg  6 месяцев назад

      I have no experience with the Y I just have experience with the F38 and I could not be happier with the F38 quick release.

    Thanks for the review Paul, could I ask regarding the Center Column can the pole part be removed or shortened?
    I do allot of low to the ground shots for nightscape photography and that pole length would get in the way.

    There's a black plastic piece that holds the center column in place. Would you say that black piece is interchangeable to allow the Colman to use the triangle center column of the Ulanzi?

    • @PaulFeinberg
      @PaulFeinberg  5 месяцев назад

      In theory I do believe if you could get that piece from ulanzi then you could do it. I thought of that as well

    • @PaulFeinberg
      @PaulFeinberg  2 месяца назад

      If you get the non-F38 quick release plate and just get the arca version then yes. Or Ulanzi sells a F38/Peak Design plate that works with both. amzn.to/45KOOxB

    Tell me, is it possible to raise or lower the lens up or down on the light G in portrait orientation? Or is a position only parallel to the ground possible? There is no 360 head rotation, like in F38?

    • @PaulFeinberg
