Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to RUclips videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. I listen to these in the shower, and falling asleep every night, also while cooking dinner in the evening. I've been doing it for 3.5 years and I reckon I'm on my 20th round now.
I do the exact same! do you ever worry about the habit?
Crook570 and I've done 2 more laps since my last comment here! No I don't worry about my addiction! It's not damaging but I do get withdrawal symptoms if my phone battery dies
I'm probably at around 20-25th rotation. Think it's been somewhere between 3 and 4 years. Still haven't met a single other person who listens to them even a tenth as much as I do :/

Aine Gannon me too I’ve been listening to them on journeys, baths, every night before bed, cleaning house etc since I was 17 which is 14 years ago now, I honestly can’t believe how many times I’ve heard the xfm shows and podcasts with them still feeling fresh, it’s bizarre.

I actually love how when Ricky says “and the glasses touched his eyes” you can hear that he already knows how much Steve is going to HATE him telling it :D

These episodes lessen the load, whatever our problems. It's my honest belief that they're more effective than any medication or therapy. I kind of ended up listening to an episode every day, over the last year or so, without intending to... I'm in the process of recording every episode (using the free app, Audacity) just in case they're deleted from You Tube.

It’s that two second gap before saying Steve that makes it such a funny bit... then rickys laugh just makes it even better.

And the way Ricky laughs at that little kid's thought is so hilarious to me.

I started listening to these podcasts when I moved to California (from Ireland) and couldn't sleep at night, didn't know many people here at the time. That was almost 4 years ago and I still listen them!
James Del It was the same for me when I moved to London, that was also many years ago... I'm still not bored :-)

This is one of those episodes where Karl gets the levels so wrong, you run the risk of Ricky's laugh bursting your eardrums after having to turn the volume up while Karl's speaking.
And Ricky says in one episode "we got him as the producer and we thought he was this geeky kid and turns out he wasn't good at this either" or something along those lines
There must be some program that you can run these through that can normalize the audio... but I for one am too lazy

TheScientist0000000 maybe I will at some point if I can be bothered to check multiple places to see if anyone’s done it
For these videos, I use a free tool called 'Sound Lock' where you set a max audio level on your PC and it won't go louder than that. Then I turn the vids up loud so Karl can be heard clearly but when Ricky shouts or laughs, it will restrict the audio to a reasonable level.
I listen to these so much that I had to find a solution. I hope it helps!
Almost never a bad time to listen to an episode, gaming, falling asleep, working, playing with the dog, hobby time..I say almost because having them on in the background while trying to be intimate is impossible.

To try and remember what I was up to the actual episode dates
It’s good for nostalgia
But I love these uploads their a gift from man-moth

I always bring my phone closer to my ear when I can't hear what Karl is saying, then without warning my eardrum gets absolutely wrecked by Gervais
I suffered from something similar, but since lockdown and working in office I have one earphone in which seems to cover all bases without the GBH to the earhole. A lot of people say they fall asleep to these which is great, but Ricky's laugh never lets me doze off!
Agreed, the audio balance of this episode is really poor. Ricky's mic is so loud and Karl's is really quiet

The gay lovers quarrel story made me remember my neighbours, who are often argueing loud enough for me to hear.
Apparently one of them had some other bloke over and the second one came in, noticed one of them wasnt wearing trousers.
It became a recurring argument for one of them to shout "the trousers were off, Frank!"
Whaddya think of that then, weird innit?

It's the little moments as well as the laugh out loud ones that make me smile, as well as showing how topical these episodes still are despite being broadcast in 2003.

He says "dare I say it, a certain breed of woman, and a certain breed of fella".
The dare I say it implies he was just going to say women but then backed out and said fella too. There's nothing daring about saying it if he was intending to say men and women. It's the implication of a "It's sounds sexist but I don't care!"
My friend recorded these for me when they first came out. That was about 17 years ago. I had a CD wallet with them all in. We used to download all the new podcasts too when they came out in America before it was released for Brits. They are all very much a part of my life. My friend actually remembers listening to them on the radio at the time they were broadcast.
Do you happen to have any of the first few episodes that no one else seems to have recorded? If you do, you could become a living legend.

In the 7 or 8 years that I chose these shows as my religion and practiced it every night whilst falling asleep, I do wonder if there is an episode I have never clicked on.

Yep me too. Same time. Discovered the podcasts in 2005/2006, and haven't stopped. Must have done a loop of all podcasts, shows, specials and audiobooks hundreds of times.

This sounds like it was recorded in a dungeon.
Their building was probably about as appealing as a dungeon. Especially if it was the same building they were in in series zero, which was 97 Charlotte Street.
And somehow the weird quality of this episode makes it funnier in parts. Like Ricky's hyena laughter.

Had this one on with earphones in the dentist today's, Ricky's laugh totally drowns out the drill
I don't know if anyone else does this but when they play a song I pause the video, open a new tab and find the song to listen to it then continue after it finishes, it makes me feel like I'm back in 2003, I know it sound weird but it's nice to know what tracks XFM played back in the day.
That sounds long. Most of the songs they play are famous anyway and have been heard countless of times.

Y'know I love the fact that this, and others in this series are now pushing 20,000 views each in less than two months since upload. I'm convinced if Rick and Steve knew genuinely how popular these were they'd get together again in some fashion.

Nah like they said they've essentially done it to death with the podcasts then the audio books and idiot abroad. But I definitely think a twenty year reunion should be on the cards, discuss how if Karl has changed his mind on anything.

I still love how, not only does Karl get their names wrong "Chang n Ang" (Chang and Eng Bunker), the story of them "avin a bath" in front of people is utter shhhhite, utter twaddle as well - they would swim in front of crowds along with other physical feats, and also simply wear conjoined clothing, one of which was a bathrobe.

I'll never understand how there are years of radio between the three of them, yet they couldn't sound decent if it saved their lives. Steven sounds alright, but Ricky literally _screams_ in the mic at times, and Karl sounds like he's 8 feet away from a mic. I want to go in the studio and crack them over the head with their own mics.

I think Ricky is way off with his thinking on dieing in your sleep and you don't know when. People would be scared to sleep and pharmaceutical companies would be developing pills to keep you awake for a week.
