Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to RUclips videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
I listen to these in the shower, and falling asleep every night, also while cooking dinner in the evening. I've been doing it for 3.5 years and I reckon I'm on my 20th round now.
Crook570 and I've done 2 more laps since my last comment here! No I don't worry about my addiction! It's not damaging but I do get withdrawal symptoms if my phone battery dies
I'm probably at around 20-25th rotation. Think it's been somewhere between 3 and 4 years. Still haven't met a single other person who listens to them even a tenth as much as I do :/
Aine Gannon me too I’ve been listening to them on journeys, baths, every night before bed, cleaning house etc since I was 17 which is 14 years ago now, I honestly can’t believe how many times I’ve heard the xfm shows and podcasts with them still feeling fresh, it’s bizarre.
I’ve listened to these 3rd time round now for 3 years I use the episode sometimes for a Personal “ on this day “ To try and remember what I was up to the actual episode dates It’s good for nostalgia But I love these uploads their a gift from man-moth And I’m grateful for them here at the touch of a button.
I started listening to these podcasts when I moved to California (from Ireland) and couldn't sleep at night, didn't know many people here at the time. That was almost 4 years ago and I still listen them!
I actually love how when Ricky says “and the glasses touched his eyes” you can hear that he already knows how much Steve is going to HATE him telling it :D
These episodes lessen the load, whatever our problems. It's my honest belief that they're more effective than any medication or therapy. I kind of ended up listening to an episode every day, over the last year or so, without intending to... I'm in the process of recording every episode (using the free app, Audacity) just in case they're deleted from You Tube.
@@NiallSlimDrew Nah Steve does get it but he's riffing on "in my mother's arms" which is a stereotype and quite a romantic scene. And the way Ricky laughs at that little kid's thought is so hilarious to me.
Almost never a bad time to listen to an episode, gaming, falling asleep, working, playing with the dog, hobby time..I say almost because having them on in the background while trying to be intimate is impossible.
This is one of those episodes where Karl gets the levels so wrong, you run the risk of Ricky's laugh bursting your eardrums after having to turn the volume up while Karl's speaking.
And Ricky says in one episode "we got him as the producer and we thought he was this geeky kid and turns out he wasn't good at this either" or something along those lines
For these videos, I use a free tool called 'Sound Lock' where you set a max audio level on your PC and it won't go louder than that. Then I turn the vids up loud so Karl can be heard clearly but when Ricky shouts or laughs, it will restrict the audio to a reasonable level. I listen to these so much that I had to find a solution. I hope it helps!
+TheBusterMan One of the best "Karl disses Steve" moments in the whole saga... Steve's annoyed, hurt, utterances of "Yeah" just make it all the more hilarious!
I suffered from something similar, but since lockdown and working in office I have one earphone in which seems to cover all bases without the GBH to the earhole. A lot of people say they fall asleep to these which is great, but Ricky's laugh never lets me doze off!
The gay lovers quarrel story made me remember my neighbours, who are often argueing loud enough for me to hear. Apparently one of them had some other bloke over and the second one came in, noticed one of them wasnt wearing trousers. It became a recurring argument for one of them to shout "the trousers were off, Frank!" Whaddya think of that then, weird innit?
"There's a little monkey, lives in Asia. There's alot of them in Asia." "Might just be travelling" It's the little moments as well as the laugh out loud ones that make me smile, as well as showing how topical these episodes still are despite being broadcast in 2003.

Their building was probably about as appealing as a dungeon. Especially if it was the same building they were in in series zero, which was 97 Charlotte Street.

In the 7 or 8 years that I chose these shows as my religion and practiced it every night whilst falling asleep, I do wonder if there is an episode I have never clicked on.
The back and forth between Karl and Steve starting at 50:30 is incredible. Steve is great at waiting for the perfect moment to retaliate, "drop ya trousers!" crack up.
My friend recorded these for me when they first came out. That was about 17 years ago. I had a CD wallet with them all in. We used to download all the new podcasts too when they came out in America before it was released for Brits. They are all very much a part of my life. My friend actually remembers listening to them on the radio at the time they were broadcast.
@@ianinkster2261 No, I mean the handful of episodes with Karl that we don't have. S1E01 isn't the first Karl episode, there were more before this that haven't appeared online yet. It's possible that no one recorded them, but XFM themselves might have at the time.
@@sneezydeezymcdeluxe7015 It's something XFM (now Radio X?) or RSK themselves might be able to help with if you ask. Indeed it was Karl's own job probably to keep tabs of the recordings. We could ask him , although allegedly his memory is very foggy on these things. To quote Karl when a fan met him a couple of years ago and questioned him on whether the burger stuffing was caught on webcam: " 2005? Was the internet even about back then? "
@@ianinkster2261 As far as I've seen, Ricky and Steve never really acknowledge or talk about the XFM days. I think the best bet would be contacting XFM (Radio X as you mentioned), and putting a case froward for them to release the recordings, that is, if they were recorded. The XFM shows have a huge following and community, and I think the request would need to play on that angle. Make it known there are tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of fans who would love to hear these missing shows.

Ricky's laugh at 53:30 is beautiful 😂😂😂
The "clean the pots again" and "relations" glitch is always unnerving.
I hear about a chicken with teeth and just imagine the characters from Chicken Run with stupid grins on their faces! XD
mAcroFaze I wonder if "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" stole the "chicken with teeth" joke from this show! haha.
I instantly thought about the "worms with teeth" segment from the animated Ricky Gervais Show.
@@brianhurley2194 Same with the episode about whether gay people or trans people should have their own designated toilet cubicles! XD
I love how Karl never looks up what a cryptic clue actually is
"Sometimes in a different room."
3:08 his french accent gets me every single time
I’ve always wondered if Ricky’s comment about the nicking Mars bars from the factory was a reference to Karl robbing a Mars bar from his paper round
I would imagine not. It is a common saying, referring to losing interest in something you do every day, that was once a treat.
Get it right the first time... you don't dirty the pots once you've cleaned them
is there another show that's like this? it's so unique and yet so comforting
